Summary: The first and only good slasher flick
Review: Okay, so I'm a pretty cynical guy over slasher flicks, but Halloween is the only good slasher flick. Maybe because it was the first... Maybe because John Carpenter did a masterful job with it... what ever it is, not only is it the best slasher flick, but [in my opinion] one of the best films ever made. The preformances are good [for a slasher], and the cinematography is great. The biggest flaw [and I mean big], is that Nancy girl. Sure, it's no Godfather or 2001, but this movie is GREAT. Any of yous that is really cynical over slasher movies, just give this one a peak. Just this one.

Summary: I am going to say this:ain't like no other horror movie!
Review: Halloween-this isn't like any other movie.

This is one of the best HORROR movies in the 20th century. I mean come on and face it watcha going do when Michael Meyers comes for you!

The best scene is when he tries to get Laurie, Tommy and Annie's sister. Then after six shots, the joker still gets up. Darn that Michael Meyers.

If I were in that situation I would get out of dodge!

Summary: The BEST HORROR FILM EVER!!!
Review: "Halloween" is the best horror film ever made, and as an inescapable result, the most horrifying. This movie, which I first saw when I was 5, still has the power to make me cringe when I hear the sharp pang of soundtrack music when you first see Nancy Loomis' character lying on the bed with Judith Myers' tombstone looming above her head. The movie begins with first person camera viewing and scary music that combines to make five minutes of film more eerie than the entire movie of "Psycho." After we see a brutal stabbing through the eyes of a clown mask, we are startled to see that the killer of the 17 year old Judith Myers is actually her SIX year old brother, Michael. From there, the movie zips ahead 15 years. Michael Myers escapes from the Smith's Grove Sanitarium and goes back to Haddonfield in search of prey. Enter Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis). She is a babysitter and would "make a fabulous girl scout." One night, while she's watching young Tommy Doyle, a shadow lurks across the street that seems to be waiting for something. Meanwhile, her best friend Annie is across the street with the Shape lurking around the windows. This as much as I will reveal. The rest is a surprise. John Carpenter's memorable film and musical score (which I own both), are terrific. The music is terrific for the atmosphere, which is accented by Dean Cundey's cinematography. This movie is a masterpiece that more recent viewers would say is formula. What they don't remember is that this movie created these formulas. Since this film, many films have tried to replicate this one, because this one was the first of its kind, and it still maintains its originality 21 years later.

Summary: "everyone is entitled to one good scare"
Review: On the Night of October 31st 1963 the little Michael Meyers killed his sister Judith Meyers. 15 years later he terrorized a small town named Haddonfiel, where continued his mayhem of murder. In our (my cousin and I) opinion this is one of the greatest Horror movies of all time. The movie has a erie feel to it and makes you scared to wash youre clothes alone (like annie). This movie was the first and best of the greatest Horror series ever. This and all the others are a must see. If you havent seen this movie your missing out on a great thrill. It is the grandfather of all horror movies from the 80s and 90s.It sets the standerd for all horror movies.Rent it as soon as possible!!!.

Summary: If I could, I would give it 100 stars
Review: "HalloweeN is the best horror movie ever made. With its dark atmosphere, psyco killer, and SCARY soundtrack, it has became the grand-daddy of the horror genre. Michael Myers isn't just a man in a oversuit, killing people for the fun it ( like Freddy, and Jason. He takes it further than them. Like one part he admired his work( stabbing the boy friend on the refrigerator, which was, by the way, the coolest death) It's a great movie.

Summary: GREAT FILM, TERRIBLE DVD
Review: The three star rating only applies to the DVD, not the film which should get five stars.

It is a shame that this really great horror classic was so poorly transfered to DVD. The picture is dark, and seems out of focus. Also, it has no extra features, just the trailer. I agree with the previous viewer who wrote that you'd be better off with the VHS version. One of the few cases where a DVD has gone wrong

Summary: Original, scary, it doesn't get any better than this!
Review: Let me just begin by saying that this is one of my favorite movies of all time. While it doesn't exactly have the greatest acting or any special effects, it just has a really fresh feeling to it. For the most part, every horror movie after it borrowed elements from it. From the infamous "walking withyour back turned only to run into someone and get a quick scare" right down to the "hurry up and get in the door, he's right behind you!!" John Carpenter did an excellent job of directing this movie. A classic any way you look at it.

Summary: A good horror film
Review: I admit that I really dislike the slasher genre. Sure, there have been acclaimed slashers like Black Christmas, The Terror Train, and the Scream series, but there is only one slasher film I can really respect and that's Halloween. John Carpenter managed to weave a lot of suspense out of a killer who never talks nor states why he is killing these people, and that only adds to the suspense. If you're not familiar with the plot, it's about a killer named Michael Myers who is after his sister. I may have watched this film quite a while ago, but there are many scenes that stick in my head, especially the ending. John Carpenter, whom I have a lot of respect for as a good horror director, has had a string of bad luck lately. His films of this decade are becoming duds with the critics. (He really could have made Vampires into a classic) Hope he'll have more luck with his next film.

I didn't really know whether I should give Halloween 4 stars or not. I'd definitely give it 3 1/2, but since there are no choices for that I gave it 3 stars. Since there aren't many spectacular horror films out there, Halloween still has a decent rank in my top fifteen favorite horror films. Personally, my favorite horror film would either be The Exorcist, Day of the Dead, or Candyman. For the latter film, I seriously suggest you watch it if you like slashers or if you like imaginitive films. Just watch it and you'll understand.
