Summary: More money--less video
Review: I want to see the entire show--in one boxed set--like the VHS videos! All 24 or 26 or whatever number of episodes! If the X-Files and Stargate can put 4 full one hour episodes on one disc, why are these people putting only two? More money for them--less video for me! I think I'll wait this one out!

Review: ...it is a piece of TV history, and the price is not too high for something so eagerly awaited!

You know that bumper sticker: "If you can read this, you're driving too close!" Well, if you are about to preorder an item which has not been released yet you obviously know A LOT about Twin Peaks already. Therefore, you probably need just a bit of encouragement before you sign on the dotted line, and here it is: remember how you watched this on network TV a decade ago? Remeber the fun you had?

At that time, they said that network TV would never be the same again. Sadly, network TV stayed pretty much like it was; Twin Peaks stands as a solitary achievement, not eclipsed to this very day; think of it as of Concorde - they built a supersonic passenger plane, it was good, it was fast and it was very expensive, it still flies, but they decided this is not the route to take.

So go on, order this collection. You know you want it. You know you will be watching it over and over again.

Summary: True Twin Peaks Fans Step Up
Review: I know that many of you are upset about the Pilot not being included in this set. As most of you know Artisan busted their rears trying to get the rights to the pilot episode. ... the pilot is readily available ... I purchased one ... True it has not been given the loving treatment that the series has been given here. But I have to be honest, it still looks pretty ...good. I know most of you know this but for those of you who don't here is the plain hard truth. If the TP fans don't buy this first season set there won't be a second season set released!!!! The folks at Artisan have stated many times that a second season release will be SOLELY BASED ON THE INTEREST GENERATED BY THE FIRST SEASON RELEASE! The Pilot and episodes have never been released together, EVER! If you truly call yourself a fan of TP then buy this set and the pilot and enjoy the great love and hard work that went into this production and encourage others you know to buy this so we can get the same great treatment of the second season! Another note about the pilot ..., it is the original version that aired on TV, not that ... European release with the poorly tacked on ending.

Summary: Warner Bros. and Artisan should have got there acts together
Review: but i'll still be buying this box set and any TP fan should do the same so that the other series are also released. The pilot has been released in Hong Kong with an english dolby digital soundrack, you can get copies from ebay. I've already bought a copy.

Review: WELL AT LONG LAST WE-IM SPEAKING OF THE FANS OF COURSE- HAVE THE LONG AWAITED DVD VERSION OF OUR FAVORITE SHOW.
ONE OF THE THINGS I CANT WAIT TO SEE,IS THE LOG LADY INTRODUCTIONS-SHE GIVES A NARATIVE VIEW BEFORE EACH EPISODE-KIND OF INTRODUCING US AND LETTING US KNOW WHAT TO EXPECT-
BUT NOT QUITE GIVING AWAY THE PLOT OF COURSE.ANOTHER THING WOULD BE THE QUALITY.AFTER RELENTLESLY WATCHING THE CURRENT VHS COPYS WHICH WERE RECORDED IN SUPERLONGPLAY..AND THE FANS KNOW WHAT I MEAN WHEN I SAY THAT IT WAS JUST SIMPLY...BAD.
ALSO COMMENTARIES BY THE DIRECTORS,AND ARCHIVAL MATERIAL FROM THE FANZINE WRAPPED IN PLASTIC?
YOU KNOW YOUR IN FOR A TREAT.
SO WHEN YOU PURCHASE THIS SET WHY NOT GRAB A DOZEN DONUTS,OR A WHOLE CHERRY PIE,AND OF COURSE...THAT DAMN FINE CUP OF COFFEE.
THEN(IF YOURE LIKE ME)WATCH ALL SEVEN EPISODES BACK TO BACK.
SURE THE PILOT IS MISSING.
SO GO OUT AND RENT THAT FIRST IF YOU DONT HAVE IT.
IF YOUR TRYING TWIN PEAKS FOR THE FIRST TIME...JUST KEEP YOUR MIND OPEN,AND HELP SOLVE THE MURDER OF LAURA PALMER.
TRUST ME,ITS ALOT OF FUN.

Summary: Blame Warner Brothers...
Review: ...for the absence of the pilot on this otherwise great sounding boxset. From what I understand, Artisan tried to get the rights to it, but WB decided to be jerks and balked at the request. I imagine there's two things a Twin Peaks fan could do about this: send an e-mail to the studio requesting that they release it, and show there is a demand for TP on DVD by buying this set and Fire Walk With Me when it comes out.
Honestly, one would have to be pretty foolish not to buy this strictly on the fact that there's no pilot. Most likely, this is going to the best the series has ever looked, and there's a plethora of extras to boot. But to the people who still aren't happy, you could do like someone else suggested and wait two-three years, then burn your sorry-looking EP tapes to DVD. Of course, by that time the pilot could be out, along with the second season, but hey, it's cheaper!
Oh yeah, the series itself.... Season One: yay! Season Two: 30% nay, 70% yay. Insightful criticism, don't you think?

Summary: Great-- even without the pilot!
Review: I for one am very pleased that this set is coming out on DVD finally. Those persons whining about the pilot not being included need to get their facts straight. Artisan does not have the rights to the pilot, and unless Warner Brothers sells it to them (or Artisan sells season 1 to Warner), it will NEVER, EVER, EVER be included. Face reality people! Instead of beating up Artisan for finally giving Peakers a break, you should be throwing stones at the Warner staff for holding out on us all this time. You're all yelling at the WRONG people!!

Review: Artisan owns the rights to the series, but not to the pilot.
If you want the pilot, ask Warner, they own the rights to the pilot.

Summary: The Black Dog Runs at Night
Review: OK, let's clear up a few things here. First of all, this set has not been released yet, so this is not an actual review. It's an attempt to clear the confusion over this box set and the pilot episode.

THE PILOT IS OWNED BY ANOTHER COMPANY! ARTISAN DOES NOT OWN IT!
That is why it is NOT included here!

So, if you are indeed a Twin Peaks fan, ORDER the set! If sales are good, this will not only prompt the release of the Pilot, but also Season 2. So come on people and stop complaining!!!
Order this set and show your support because you're never going to get the complete series together. Even the VHS was released by Warner while the episodes were put out by Worldvision. Did you all complain about that? NO! You bought them! Next you'll be wanting the Pilot, the Complete Series, and Fire Walk With Me all on one DVD!
STOP IT! BUY THIS!

And if you REALLY need the Pilot on DVD, it is readily available online as a Region 0(playable on any player!)DVD release.

Review: I just wanted to say that the pilot would be on the disc, but there is a copyright battle. You can buy an all region dvd of the pilot on ebay or scarecrow.com
