Summary: No Doubt About This!!!!
Review: This Box set I heard contains All 7 movies and a special 8th Disc only you can get in the DVD Box set. I've just ordered this and I've seen all the Freddy videos except Freddy's Revenge. The only DVD I've seen from this box set I rented at our local video store was Number 5 Dream Child. I've heard that Dream Child also has an uncut version which does not appear on the DVD only on the original old version tape. I must track it down then. The DVD that I saw was great. It was really remastered very well. The sound is a lot better then it use to be it seems though that the sound kept getting louder then quieter.

The Movies I've seen in order are:
New Nightmare: A Nightmare On Elm Street 7
This movie was really good I would have to say this is my all time favorite even though I loved the other ones. Heather is in this video with her kid Dylan. Freddy seems to be after Dylan and Heather will do anything to make sure it doesn't happen. This movie is a cross between Freddy in Dreams and Reality. He's trying to get into our Reality! (Viewed On VHS Tape)

A Nightmare On Elm Street
Nothing better states the first video is always the classic and it is. I bet the remastered version is really good. I saw the very first version on Media Video. You can barely see Freddy's face in this one which though makes him look more creepy. This one is a classic too. My favorite death scene is in which Nancy's boyfriend(Johnny Depp) gets sucked into his bed and blood splatters the walls. This movie is great! (Viewed On Original Media Tape- Not Remastered)

A Nightmare On Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors
This one was very different from the others to me it seemed a lot creepier. The death scenes are a lot more graphic then from number 1. Nancy comes back in this one as a Pyschologist. The most memorable death scene I think is the one where Freddy's fingers turn into hypodermic needles i think thats what they are called and kills one of the girl warriors. This movie was really good as well though! (Viewed On Original VHS Tape- Not Remastered)

A Nightmare On Elm Street 5: Dream Child (Rated R Version)
I've heard there is and uncut version to this film on the original tape not on the DVD. My local store had it but it was always check out now I know why. Greta's death scene was the best memorable scene Freddy chokes her to death while feeding her non- stop while the uncut version has Freddy cutting into Greta's stomach and force feeding her own guts and I heard the motorcycle scene was much more graphic then it was in the R rated version. Even though the DVD version was pretty graphic it seemed though that Greata's death scene was toned down. This movie though I really like! (DVD Version from The Box Set Viewed)

A Nightmare On Elm Street 4: The Dream Master
My mother and my sister and her friends watched this one with me. We though this one was very cheesy in a way, but I seemed pushed to like it. I know it would be a lot better remastered. I liked a lot of some of the death scenes not very graphic except a really weird one at the end when Freddy forces a bar down on this girl breaking her elbows in which it looks like you can see her bones, but it's weird cause it's not she turns into a bug (a Cockroach) to summarize it and Freddy squashes her in a bug hotel. I did like this movie but not real well on death scenes. (Original VHS Viewed)

Freddy's Dead The Final Nightmare: A Nightmare On Elm Street 6
This one use to creep me out the one about Carlos, where Freddy shoves a cotton swab stick through Carlos' ear. The was still one of the memorable death scenes in this film, but very funny when Freddy scratches a board and his head blows up. All in All me and my sister laughed in this film. I actually really like it. You should check it out. (Original VHS Viewed)

I havent seen Number 2 yet I probably will when I receieve my box set Monday October 20, 2003. I got my for a cheaper price for 83.64 brand new including shipping. It's really hard to put these movies in order for best to most stupid cause they hold something great about em, but all i can say is this one box set you have to own! I will be sure to Rent the orignal version to Dream Child or even buy it off ebay or something!

Summary: I love this series!
Review: "A Nightmare on Elm Street" was revolutionary; it truely changed the face of horror. The first movie is so scary that it still bothers me to this day. There are so many horrors on more than one level. Yes, there's the physical danger (or metaphysical in the dreams). But the kids have other kinds of problems; parents divorsed, drugs and alcohol, peer pressure, and everything else. Freddy uses these problems and exploits them to his advantage. Freddy is like the Devil, with a plan. He is also human (sort of), unlike the silent stalker like Jason. He talks and has a wicked sense of humor.
Part one is the origanal and scariest. "Freddy's Revenge" is good, even though a lot of fans didn't like it. "Dream Warriors" is an excellent film, if not scarry, definatly a lot of fast paced action. "Dream Master" is not very scary (almost a comedy), but lots of interesting colors and wild dream sequences and lots of bad puns. "Dream "Child" was a little darker and more gothic, but the scenerio was absolutly rediculos. Freddy's Dead" was the worst, with bad 3-D and stupid corny puns from Freddy. "New Nightmare" is the second best, with a whole new story line, and scarier than it's been in years. Good story, deep charactors, it's very good. The last disk is a fairly difficult to manuver game, with hours and hours of extra footage, intervies, making of documenteries. For the price the box set is well worth buying. I highly recomend.

Summary: One of the best horror collections ever!
Review: I am really glad to see all of these movies together. I always liked the nightmare on elm street movies for their creativity and their ability to keep the same guy as freddy every time. In my opinion, the first one is the best, but I still like watching the others! This set also has the nightmare series encyclopedia, which is spectacular! I spent over 3 hours straight going through that disc. It's true that you don't have to solve the puzzles and explore the labrynth to see all the little video clips and interviews, but doesn't that ruin the fun!? I was really impressed with the effort put into that disc. I wish there was some more movie-specific stuff on the discs, but i suppose theatrical trailers and a few dvd-rom stuff here and there is ok when you have that encyclopedia. Well, if you collect movies like I do, or just love horror movies, you should defiantely pick this one up. It's one of the best collections you'll find!

Summary: The right way to do DVD!
Review: I thought that the treatment of the Lord of the Rings DVDs were the best ever and would most likely be unmatched. Then came the Nightmare Collection. Wow. Every DVD in the collection is high quality. Great sound, great transfers...I've never seen the movies look better. Interesting and entertaining commentaries are included on the Nightmare 1 and Wes Craven's New Nightmare. "Freddy Vision" (3D) is also included on "Freddy's Dead". You have the choice of watching the finale in either 2D or 3D (Yes! two pair of glasses are included!), or just go directly to the 3D sequences. The bonus disk is loaded with info on all of the Nightmare movies. Be prepared to spend an hour or two exploring the Labyrinth (lots of fun).

Just get it while it's still available. A great warm up for the new "Freddy vs. Jason" movie!

Summary: "Tell them, 'Freddy sent ya...!'"
Review: Whoever said dreams can't hurt you is a liar. In fact, dreams can pretty much KILL you, at least if Freddy has it his way. Your favorite horror-boogeyman is now available in a complete DVD set that includes all of the famous (or infamous) Freddy movies. Get ready and prepare for the ultimate nightmare with this fine collection of "Nightmare on Elm Street" movies that are bound to send chills down your spine... and maybe get a few laughs out of you as well.

This set has every single movie in the series. It has numbers 1 through 5, "Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare," and "Wes Craven's New Nightmare." All of them ready to pollute the DVD player and contaminate the TV screen. Freddy's waiting for ya, don't you know?

The set includes a bonus DVD with a bunch of cool extras that any Freddy fanatic is bound to enjoy. Also enclosed in the set are 3-D glasses (2 of them, I believe) that you can use for the end sequence of "Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare;" something I don't even think is available in the single version of the film.

All of the movies are great, although I don't like the second one as much as the others. It's all right, but could've been better. The rest are great though. Personally, I think the third one is the best, though many would argue that the first one is the superior movie. But that's just my opinion.

So, are you a Freddy fanatic? Do you love the "Elm Street" flicks? Then what the heck are you waiting for??! An invitation? Get your hands on this horrifyingly superb DVD set that is bound to entertain you for hours. If this is your first time meeting Freddy Krueger, never fear; he's been waiting for YOU...

Sleep tight!!!

Summary: Nightmare On Elm Street Collection
Review: Movies: Nightmare on Elm Street really was the launching pad for New Line Cinema. Without Freddy, where would they be? After the runaway success of the original Nightmare On Elm Street film, a sequel was pretty much guarenteed. But what followed instead were SIX very popular sequels. Some ranging from great (Dream Warriors, New Nightmare) to somewhere in-between (The Dream Master, The Dream Child) to not so good (Freddy's Revenge, Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare.) Freddy Kruegar started off as truly frightening in Nightmare On Elm Street. Things took a slightly homoerotic turn in Nightmare On Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge. Freddy did get back on track with Nightmare On Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors. Freddy did turn slightly funnier, and more MTV-ish with Nightmare On Elm Street 4: The Dream Master. Then, Freddy did take a big fall with Nightmare On Elm Street 5: The Dream Child. But he went way over the top with Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare. Wes Craven successfully made Freddy scary again in Wes Craven's New Nightmare. The evolution that the series took was really interesting to watch, and quite enjoyable at times. While not completely even, the series is pretty fun, nonetheless.

Nightare On Elm Street: 5/5

Freddy's Revenge: 3/5

Dream Warriors: 5/5

The Dream Master: 4/5

The Dream Child: 3.5/5

Freddy's Dead: 2.5/5

New Nightmare: 5/5

Extras: The boxed set has an entire eighth disc devoted to the special features. There are really too many to list. First, there's a "Welcome To Primetime" featurette, which goes into the making of the first film. Then, you can go into the Labyrinth, which is a really long and complicated maze to find the extras. Or, you can go to the index to see most of, but not all the extras. All in all, a feature packed disc loaded with special features. 6/5

Overall: A great boxed set. Not only do you get all of the movies, you gety an entire disc loaded with features to boot. Go, get this!

Summary: NEW LINE CENSORED THE GOOD PARTS
Review: This is an awesome collection with the bonus and the 7 movies + the awesome 3-D glasses for Freddy's dead. The bad part is that NEW LINE CINEMAS sensored most of the gory parts. Those are the parts that make Freddy Kruegar. Most of the films are great like 1,3,4,6,& 7. But 2 & 5 are okay, just some what boring at times. If you are a kruegar fan "ME" then you'll love the bonus disk.I really reccemend it to you horror fans out there.
