Review: 7 DAYS TO LIVE is a scary and suspenseful movie, that I saw on a festival in Europe... STORY: After the tragic death of their son, Ellen (Amanda Plummer) and Martin Shaw (Sean Pertwee) move to the countryside, hoping for a new beginning. Everything seems perfect: A romantic village and an old house that they plan to redecorate together. But all too soon Ellen is being haunted by disturbing visions of her own imminent death . At first Ellen reassures herself that it must be a hallucination due to what she has been through in the past months. But the foreboding predictions of her death continue (7, 6, 5, 4, ...), and she seems to be running out of time. 7 DAYS TO LIVE is a variation of the Shining-theme but it stands out as an exciting film in its own right. The tension and the scary atmosphere build up to a thrilling climax enhanced by some good special effects. Not since "the Exorcist" I've had such a feeling when watching a film. I challenge anyone to watch this movie and then go down into the cellar alone!!!

Summary: Totally awesome suspense filled film
Review: I consider myself a pro of horror films but "Seven Days To Live" had me gripping the edge of my seat. It is by far the creepiest and scariest movie I've seen. Great actors, spooky atmosphere, and a really good plot all add up to a "quiet tip" for every triller fan that cannot be missed. 2 thumbs-up to Amanda Plummer (Pulp Fiction, Needfull Things) - knows something isn't right, but no one believes her - and Sean Pertwee (Event Horizon) for a brilliant performance in his role as the "good becomes bad guy". "7 Days To Live" is a 2000's hitchcock-type thing. Other than being a bit to long when you watch it a second time, this movie is flawless. A strong 5 out of 5 stars!

Summary: A spooky atmosphere and good acting
Review: I just rented and watched this movie..All I can say is, it was one of the best straight to video haunted house movies i've seen..the story is average..sure it borrow some elements from other horror movies like the shining and maybe even the ring, but i think it came out before the ring though..but for a low budget movie it was good..it doesn't rely on special effects and not alot of gore..but it kept me in to it..there are a couple of jumps..an eerie atmosphere and a spooky ending..even my Mom,my Niece and nephew liked it..My nephew first thought it was going to be stupid when he read the cover..but then into it he changed his mind..he's 10..anyway rent it..give it a try..I don't think it'll disappoint

Review: If you like supernatural thrillers that have the power to raise the hairs on the back of your neck, then 7 DAYS TO LIVE is for you! This movie is a real BLOOD CHILLER! Story Line: Recovering from the tragic death of their young son, Ellen and Martin (Amanda Plummer, Sean Pertwee) move to an old house in the country to begin anew. But all too soon Ellen is being haunted by disturbing warnings that she has only SEVEN DAYS TO LIVE. Ellen thinks that she's going crazy, and her husband does not take his wife's "esoteric visions" seriously. He dives head on into work and it seems like he is hiding a secret. Left to her own devices, Ellen stumbles across the eerie history of the house and it's former inhabitants and must accept the similarities to the present. By the time she can fully grasp the extent of danger she is in, it is already too late. She is caught in a deadly trap... Amanda Plummer, Sean Pertwee and the Rest of the great Cast (Nick Brimble (Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves), Sean Chapman (Hellraiser 1 & 2), Gina Bellman) do a superb job of acting in this spooky story. Be warned that the final 30 minutes consist of uncomfortably violent sequences of spousal abuse that makes Jack Nicholson's performance in THE SHINING seem tame. Don't get me wrong: 7 DAYS TO LIVE is not a gore-thing. It basically showes what would have happend if Hitchcock had made a "haunted house" movie. That's what makes it such a good film! But one more word of warning, though, do NOT watch this movie ALONE!

Review: The worst thing about this straight to video snoozer is that the titular dilemma is never explained. 7 DAYS TO LIVE isn't very scary either and suffers greatly from a poor script. After a somewhat decent set up involving the tragicly gruesome death of their son, Helen (PLUMMER) and Martin (PERTWEE) Shaw move to the country into a house that upon physical appearance is blatantly haunted. The reasoning for the house being haunted is because construction companies can't seem to stop building houses on the mass graves of the restless dead, or so it is in moviedom anyway. Needless to say "spooky" stuff starts happening and the film goes downhill from there. Helen begins witnessing what she thinks is a seven day countdown to her demise, but why the haunters would do this is never expained, instead we are given a SHINING like mad husband scenario that plays out like the cheaply made flick this is. The special fx at the end are really bad as well, reminding the viewer that some low budget films can be inventive, and this isn't one of them. By the end of the film nothing is given substantial closure or reason. Not as creepy as a lot of reviews have stated, and if you are a fan of psycological horror this film will not satisfy your appetite the way movies like THE RING or THE SHINING do. Below average haunted house schlock.

Summary: Good sound, bad pace/plot/story
Review: Then audio, music, and mood is okay. Pace is too quick. Who gets over their own son's death in a day? Where was the funeral? The sign warning the "6 days left" was mad cheesy... the voice for the 4th day was worse... T.....H.....R....E...E... We KNOW what it will say. Why drag it out in such a tedious manner? And all that mood and banging noises for the three-day mark? Halfway through the movie you are set wondering what it is that the main character is fighting... the house? Spirits? Herself? That dog? Or her lactose intolerance for that scene with the diarrhea in the bed? And to force a "crazy, indifferent husband" character (who looks like a bad, growling, sweaty Bill Murray wanna-be) into the plot makes it worse. For some reason the main character reminds me of Ally McBeal.

Wayyyy too quick of a pace. It doesn't let the viewer digest the "dark and scary" pseudo-elements of the movie. Actinv was horrible too. Sound FX are cool though. CG was awkward.

Don't watch if you're experienced with good movies. This will have you laughing, thinking that this is another "Scary Movie" :)

Summary: 2 HOURS TO YAWN.....
Review: This is a failed attempt at a Stephen King-ish story. A straight-to-video rehash of other (and better) movies about a troubled writer and his troubled but devoted wife who move into a great big old scary house way out in the "marsh". They are both grieving the recent loss of their only child--a little boy--to a sudden freak death (he swallowed a wasp in his cereal!). The husband becomes surly and starts pounding out his new "bestseller" on the computer while the wife starts seeing things and getting supernatural "messages" that she only has so many days to live---5 then 4 then 3 and so on. The husband doesn't believe her and goes totally bonkers while the wife desperately tries to figure out whats going on. Then TA-DA! She finds out the property is built on a huge mass grave of murdered convicts! If any of this sounds familiar, the story borrows shamelessly from "The Shining" and "Poltergeist"- even the ending with corpses coming up in the basement and the wife running around with a big butcher knife to get away from the crazed hubby is all too familiar. Only this go 'round, they both survive and write the bestseller that saves the husband's career: "7 Days to Live" based on their experiences! Hogwash. Don't waste your time (or your money) on this stale ghoul-ash. It's numbingly dull until the end and then it wallows in wife-bashing and goo. You've seen it all before. Too many times.
