Summary: A Great Horror Movie w/o the graphic violence & gore
Review: I saw this movie when it first came out in 1979 at the movie theater. My arm was scratched up from my date's long fingernails. ADVICE: Never take a date with long fingernails to a horror movie. The scariest scene for me was when the wet ball bounced down the stairs. The tragedy of the child's murder is depressing, but hey... it's only a movie.

Summary: One of the best horror films-- ever!!!
Review: As I'm sure you've gathered, this is THE horror movie to see (other than The Shining and The Exorcist). It should be clear to every unfortunate soul reading, these films are, respectively, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit of Horror. This film is highly recommended, as are the others. Please, I beg of you: Watch It !!!!!!

Summary: The best Ghost Story movie...ever.
Review: No bodies, zombies, cannibalism, sex, or creepy psychopaths with edged weapons. Just slowly mounting chills and fear that puts chills up my spine when I talk about this movie. George C Scott plays a widower who moves into a historical house in a once-fashionable area of Seattle. After hearing strange noises, he begins to investigate the former occupants, searching for the cause of the disturbances. This movie is simply terrifying. I can't describe the scene where the seance recording is played back without suffering a chill down my spine.

Summary: A HAUNTING MOVIE
Review: When my father recommended this movie to me, I thought I would watch it just to kill some time. I was terrified throughout the whole movie. My favorite part was when the empty wheelchair started chasing the female lead down the hall and down the stairs. It was an incredible movie, and current filmmakers should use it as a model. This movie is much scarier than "Scream" or any new horror films, and without the gore!! I definitely recommend this movie to everyone.

Summary: Suspense Supreme!
Review: One evening my kids (15 & 17) wanted to watch a "scary" movie they haven't seen yet. They've watched all the current ones (I Know What You Did, Scream, etc.) I remembered this movie from when I was younger and that it scared me pretty good. We found a store that rented it and they watched it that evening. At the end of the movie, my daughter wanted to sleep with us and my son said it was one of the scariest "ghost" movies he's ever seen. This movie beats any of the slasher/gore movies out there now. It's a great story which has withstood the passing of time. My kids will attest to that. By the way, they liked it so much - we bought it!

Summary: Scared the stuffing out of me... & a great mystery to boot
Review: After George C. Scott loses his wife and daugther in a terrible car accident, he moves into a house he's leasing from a historical society. A sprit, not-at-rest, reaches out to him. The climax of this movie will have you sleeping with a night light again. This goes beyond physical scares (for the most part) and reaches its viewers on a psychological level. A fantastic film and a must see for all horror fans!

Summary: One of the best scary movies ever made.
Review: The acting in this movie is first rate and the Pacific Northwest was a perfect location for this very creepy, atmospheric, intelligent film. I have watched this movie ten or more times and it stills scares me. The part that scares me the most is when the little girl, whose bedroom is over the well, sees the dead boy's "body" float up through her bedroom floor. And the creepy music throughout the film makes my skin crawl just thinking about it. Why aren't there many more movies like this? I like some of the gory movies, too, but a movie like THE CHANGELING can be watched over and over again and still deliver the thrills and chills and you don't have to be embarrassed to say you like it! One caution though, this movie is really too scary and the themes too disturbing for little kids. A good movie for the little guys is ABBOTT AND COSTELLO MEET FRANKENSTEIN. That movie scared the daylights out of me when I was a little kid, and it still makes me laugh today.

Summary: An elegant Masterpiece.
Review: A variety of chills in the Changeling will satisfy everyone. This haunted house/ghost-story is about child abuse, and sickeningly, they showed it. It's cruel; its impact paralyzing. The tremendous, cascading, ripple-effect of this abuse introduces you to the innocents ruined by a scandal. I never knew George C. Scott, before this. Now I want to know him more than ever. Every time I see a wet ball, I'll always think of the Changeling comes to mind.

Summary: A brilliant ghost story
Review: As I write this, I have the old musicbox music running in my head. If you have seen the movie, you probably understand what I am talking about.

I can only say that this film is... excellent.

A music teacher moving into a mansion, composing music and then finally finding out that what he composed was actually being dictated to him by the ghost of a child (it was the music of the child's music box, note for note). I thought it was an excellent way for the little ghost to make contact with the living.

Of the most poignant scenes is not when the teacher invites and tapes the mediums. The poignant scene is when,(once the mediums have gone), he listens back the recordings he made of the seances. Extremely witty. Behind the whole thing lies a scheme which could even connect the Senator to the whole thing. But the ghost of Joseph Carmichael needs the Professor's help to bring the mystery to light.

Another great chiller for the ghost lovers is :" Ghost Story"
