Summary: Is this a great movie or what(you better not say or what)!
Review: Man, I honestly thought this is the greatest movie I've ever seen. Some may disagree, those who do, you guys can just shut your mouth! Cause this is my favortie movie in the whole wide world. I loved all the fights scenes, the martial arts is awesome. And of course, for the ladies, there is always a love story intertwined in the plot. I could lie and say that everybody would love this movie, kids and adults, people of all ages, but i'm not goin' to. I love this movie cause I'm a huge martial arts fan, and you have to be too, to be able to appreciate this film. Well, I hope you get this movie and enjoy it as much as I did, do, and will.

Summary: Great Coordination
Review: The fight scenes in this movie have excellent coordination and look really good on wires or on the ground. This movie was rated 3 for violence but that sort of baffles me when I think of the special effects in Jet Li's Swordsman 2(which is my all-time favorite)done by the genious Tsui Hark make that movie far more violent than any asian flick I've ever seen and that movie only got a 2 rating so don't expect extreme violence here. But you can tell that sammo hung is a master of hand to hand and sword combat choreography with some of the extremely intense intricate battles that occur that are just outstanding. This movie also has a very serious tone with no comedy which is also good but my only complaint was the final fight scene which was sped up way out of porportion and seemed like they were just looking for a way to end the movie,if not for the ending it would have been 5 stars all the way,but still a very good edition to any kung-fu collection.

Summary: Action drama with dialogue in ancient Chinese dialogue
Review: This is an semi-historical action drama filled with well-choreographed swordfights and, interestingly, ancient poetic Chinese dialogue. The characters portrayed are historical figures who attempted to instigate an unsuccessful political reform in China around the turn of the century. So it is semi-historical in that sense. Even if you don't fancy action movies, it has a strong touching drama with breathtaking cinemotography. However, to fully appreciate this film, you have to watch it in chinese because it contains very poetic dialogue resembling ancient Chinese. Suffice it to say Blade of Fury is a movie for anyone who enjoys drama with historical backdrop or a flic with old fashion swordfight or wants to just get a first taste of a good Chinese movie.

Summary: Blade of Fury
Review: While never mentioned by anyone as a great martial arts movie, (even Sammo who wrote and directed it), this is definately one of Hong Kongs best. Great fight scenes (not surprising, with Sammo in charge), heroic good guys, viscious bad guys, the equisite Rosamund Kwan as the once and future uber-babe, and the mountain like presence of Ti Lung, one of Hong Kong's dramatic greats. While the plot is a basic formula, and the characters are a little one dimentional, it still acts as a reminder of what heroism is all about. Sammo shows his old school roots with this film, along with his usual ability to put together, without exception, the best fight scenes ever put on film. With a talented cast that breathes life into the characters and a story that draws the viewer in, this film is quintisential Hong Kong Cinema. Hey, it even made my girlfriend cry, and she HATES martial arts movies! 'nuff said.
