Summary: Sure it's bad, but whatd you expect?
Review: Ask anyone who saw this movie, and they'll tell you it (...). As if you didn't know that already. Ask me, and I'll tell you that at least it delivered what you were expecting:non-stop action violence. The movie starts off as Jet Li (evil one) is being accused of killing a bunch of his other selves in other universes, as their are multiple universes, AND ways of getting to them. He of course, escapes and plans to kill the remaining one. Apparently, every time you kill yourself, you get stronger(as do your other selves). Alright so the story is no more inspiring than say a porno. Then again, you didn't watch pornos for story did you? Same goes for any movie starring (... Jet Li and Jackie Chan).

Summary: Definitley not his best...
Review: After seeing Jet Li's other movies (Romeo must die, etc.) I was very excited to see The One. Jeez, I was kinda disappointed. Not only was the movie a rip off of The Matrix, but the fighting scenes were not that great. The fight scene at the end was the best scene of the whole movie. I usually love sci-fi and the whole "other universes" theory really intrigued me but the way it was portrayed in this movie just did not keep my interest. He's still one of my favorite actors, but if you're not really sure what movie you want to see, see one of his other movies.

Summary: EXTRA WACK! IF NOT THE WORST EVA!!!
Review: IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THIS MOVIE ALREADY, YOU HAVE NOT MISSED ANYTHING. JET LI IS A GREAT ACTOR AS WELL AS A GREAT FIGHTER. I HAVE ALWAYS ADMIRED HIS TECHINIQUES, HOWEVER THIS MOVIE AS WELL AS ALL THOSE MADE IN AMERICA JUST SUCK! I HAVE NO IDEA HOW THEY DO IT, BUT THEY JUST SUCK BIG TIME. ACTUALLY EVER SINCE JETLI CAME TO AMERICA, THEY ALL TRIED TO MAKE HIS MOVIES TO BE MORE OR LESS THE SAME AS THE MATRIX. AND THE MATRIX SUCKS BADDDD!!! I JUST THOUGHT I WASTED SO MUCH MONEY ON THAT EXTRA WACK MOVIE...

Summary: A pretty, dumb (or pretty dumb) movie
Review: Based on the trailers for this movie, I went in expecting some fun fight scenes between Jet Li and Jet Li, some cool special effects, and a decent performance from the always-charming Carla Gugino. And my expectations were met. The fight scenes were pretty exciting. There were good performances from Jet Li and Carla Gugino, although I'm sure she'd prefer to point out that the much better, much more successful Spy Kids is also on her resume. It was also nice seeing appearances from members of the cast of writers/producers/director Morgan and Wong's TV series Space: Above and Beyond in supporting roles. And Delroy Lindo should thank Samuel L. Jackson every morning that he's gotten too big to appear in movies like these, since Lindo seems to have made his recent career out of Jackson leftovers.

On the other hand, the story isn't very smart. The screenplay is credited to Morgan and Wong, who wrote some of the X-Files best episodes, produced the aforementioned (and underrated) Space: Above and Beyond, and crafted a surprisingly spooky big-screen debut with Final Destination. Credits aside, viewers will find very little evidence that anyone actually wrote this movie (and anyone who did shouldn't go around admitting it in public). Another particularly annoying point is Lindo's (and later Li's) sidekick, speaking stock tough-guy lines in such an over-the-top growl, he's even more of a cartoon character than everyone else in the film.

Still, as the end credits rolled, I went through my mental checklist. Cool fight scenes: check. Cool effects: check. Jet Li and Carla Gugino, still emminently watchable: check. So I got what I came for. Pity it wasn't wrapped up inside a better, smarter story.

Summary: Awesome Jet Li Movie? (This Isn't The One)
Review: Since I saw "Kiss Of The Dragon" in the summer, I was looking forward to watching "The One". I absolutely thought "Kiss Of The Dragon" was a great action movie with realistic fight choreography. I was expecting "The One" to be as good, if not better than "Kiss Of The Dragon". Needless to say, I was disappointed. The martial arts, which is the highlight in any of Jet Li's movies was mediocre at best. The only fight worth seeing was the end with Yulaw (evil Jet) against Gabe (good Jet). This was a great fight using a good amount of special effects and careful choreography. But the rest of the movie, except for the special effects, were average at best. The acting was poor and at times campy. The dialogue was just atrocious, the script needed to be rewritten. The plot had a lot of potential, but it just didn't connect, it's pretty choppy. There are multiple Jet Li's in the film playing different roles, but it doesn't feel like a Jet Li movie. I saw the same type of effects here as I did with "Romeo Must Die", the computer generated leaps and kicks (computer generated wire-fu). I didn't like this technique in "Romeo Must Die" and I didn't like seeing this again in yet another Jet Li movie. They should follow the choreography style of "Kiss Of The Dragon" and it all works beautifuly. Well, this is an average movie and the three stars I give the movie mainly go to the last fight and the special effects excluding the computer generated wire-fu. I hope Mr. Li comes up with better movies along the lines of "Kiss Of The Dragon" or his past Hong Kong movies to ensure a successful Hollywood career.

Summary: This Movie ROCKS!!!!!!!!!
Review: I wish I could give this movie more than five stars. It is the best action movie or movie period that I have seen in a long time. The plot is as complex as the Matrix but very origonal. The action and the FX are out of site . I also liked the music sound track . When I left the theater I went right to the record store to get the sound track but to my dismay it has not been released yet. I was always on the edge of my seat in this movie trying to guess (is this guy the good Jet Li or the bad one.)This is the first Jet Li movie I have seen . Now I am a fan. In summary this movie has all the great things to make a great Sci Fi action movie so don`t wait for home video go see this NOW! I know I will see it a least one more time before it leaves the theaters!

Summary: I love Jet Li's movies, but this is a piece of (...).
Review: This movie was just awful. The pacing was bad, they got amateur editors and the lines and plot were like a B movie. It was pretty pathetic and I seriously hope Jet Li realises he's being exploited and badly. The bullet time is not used well, either. Really a piece of junk. If I could pick 2 words to describe the movie it would be "bad, corny".

Summary: The One is the one
Review: This movie was absolutly amazing. the plot was great the characters, and of course the effects. This totally wipped the floor with the Matrix. The Matrix was good in it's time but now move over becaus there's a new sheriff in town. the moves are amazing and i thought it was great on how both of them new they were strong but only one new the extent of his powers while the other had to learn. If u wanna see other good fighting flicks see Romeo Must Die, Iron Monkey, Once Upon A Time in China 1, 2, and 3 and also Black Mask.

Summary: Wow!
Review: Man, this was great. It's NOT like the Matrix, in fact, it kicks the snot out of that movie. Yeah, sure, the plot wasn't excellent, but it wasn't awful. It was pretty good, actually. I mean, who goes to a martial arts movie for an excellent plot, anyway? Trust me, it's great. I loved it because the music was chosen VERY well for the scenes, and the characters were likeable. (Come on, didn't you just love what Jet did when he killed the first guy in the movie?) Go watch it, it's great.
