Summary: If I saw this when I was 16 I would have loved it.I'm not 16
Review: This movie could have been the action thriller we've been waiting for since Die Hard. It has great (if not over the top) performances from two great actors. But it's execution is quite sloppy. In an early gun battle, the villian Castor Troy (Cage) dives out of a plane head first, firing two guns while in mid air, and kills half a dozen cops. About thirty seconds later, he's above the movies 'hero' (in inverted commas because he's actually more trouble than he is worth) has a clear shot, fires, and misses! In a 'lesser' action movie, the hero would outrun, outwit, or hide, but in this a crack shot suddenly couldn't hit the ground if he fell on it! Apart from this I enjoyed it, that is until the last few minutes. There is a scene where the hero's daughter stabs the villain in the leg, and he runs away! Through the movie he has killed people for less, but he spares the daughter of his arch-enemy and runs with a very sore leg. Yeah right! Face swapping I'll believe, flawed logic I won't. But with a sore leg he runs across the street and kills a guy to steal his speedboat. I thought this scene let the movie down the most. Why didn't he just try and kill the hero? If he had just pushed him out of the boat the scene may have even been funny. If it had been a car, the censors probably would have jumped up and down, but because it's a speedboat it's ok. And in the very end of it all, the hero has a happy ending, but if you stop and think for a second, does he really deserve one. During the movie I was entertained, when I walked out during the closing credits, I was angry. Thanks Mr Woo for destroying what should have been the perfect action movie.

Summary: Face-Off vs. "Abduction"
Review: My comments pose more of a question than a movie critique. I urge anyone who reads this to explore the painting "Abduction of the Daughters of Leucippus." The reason for this inquiry is such...the two fellows are twin brothers. One is Castor and the other is Pallox. Being in an art history class and hearing this for the first time today...I decided to try the web to see what I could find. If you have any suggestions, information or opinions...please send them to me at "BTE8816@students.ssu.edu" or "YthLDr001@aol.com"

Thank you very much and happy hunting

Summary: Its like a roller coaster ride that doesn't stop!
Review: With a mix of the story line and action you feel as if this was one of your wacky nightmares that you had last week and had to tell everyone about. The first scene is like a drug .... your hooked staight away and feel like part of the family ! you have the urge to find out what will happen and then things just go WRONG !! you say to yourself '' no ! how could that happen ! this guy has been through enough , can't he get his life back !!!! '' But then he starts to take the role of the person he looks like and lives his life . But then on the other hand , so is Mr bad guy !! This is a must for any one who enjoys action and a little science fiction !! You'll feel like you want to help the poor guy !!

Summary: One of the BEST movies I've ever seen!
Review: This movie was great, I have it on DVD and VHS and you can really tell the diffence on surround sound John Woo does an excellent job directing it and with the combination of Travolta and Cage, it makes it hard to beat, second only to the Terminator Movies

Summary: As close as it gets, good job Woo!!!
Review: Well John Woo done it again. Another "mafia/gangster" like movie with a nice twist to the plot. If anyone has seen any of John Woo's previous work from Hong Kong, you would know that the gun fighting scenes in Face/Off is a near perfect replica of those Hong Kong gangster films. This is my first time seeing a bunch of Caucasion's fight like this, instead of a gang of chinese Triads. It's gun fighting with an art form. Not just random shooting. Heh heh... Impressive!!! Rent it, watch it, buy it.

Summary: An ingenious plot...
Review: Cage and Travolta at their best in this superb action thriller. A clever storyline and a fast moving plot combine to make this the best action film I've ever seen. My favourite scene in this movie was when cage and travolta switched faces. Overall, a brilliant film.

Summary: Great action film, but very disturbing
Review: Face/off was 1997's best action film, but it was also very dark and disturbing. While that's not really meant to be a problem, it just felt strange while watching the movie. There's drug trips in this movie, siblings kissing each other hard on the lips, and countless sexual references. Normally, I think disturbing films work best with drama like Saving Private Ryan and Amistad and horror such as Texas Chainsaw Massacre. It didn't work well in Face/off. The actors tried too hard to make Castor Troy look menacing. Neither John Travolta or Nicolas Cage failed, but it felt like they overacted. Besides that it was still a good movie.
