Rating: Summary: EXCELLENT FILM!!! GREAT SPECIAL EFFECTS!!! COOL ENDING!!! Review: I watched this movie in the theater, back then I wasn't really into the NOES or Nightmare on Elm Street films. But this film kinda got me into it. The film had excellent special effects, and great acting by both Robert Englund and Ken Kerzinger both in their respected roles. Director Ronny Yu spent an estimated 25 million dollars to make this film, which is a LOT of money. The film contains some very gruesome but entertaining action scenes, as well as scary scenes. Ronny Yu also adds some interesting karate-like fights in the film. Freddy Krueger kicks Jason Voorhees' a** in the film. But Jason eventually makes a comeback and kicks his a** as well. The Freddy Krueger in this film is sorta like the one in NOES 2-6. Very sadistic and evil but comical as well. Jason Voorhees is just Jason Voorhees in this film, no different. There is a part in the movie where Jason kills dozens of teens at a party in a cornfield. That scene really rocked, and was a comeback for the Jason of Friday the 13th. Freddy on the other hand almost kills no teens in this film, only killing like 2 people. The one I most vividly remember is when he kills Kelly Rowland from Destiny's Child who is a character in the film. Ronny Yu was the director for Bride of Chucky, which is also a comical horror film too. Jason Voorhees is sort of like a robot in this film, he kills under the manipulation of Freddy Krueger. The movie's setting is in Springwood,Indiana, Freddy Krueger' hometown. Ronny Yu is a great director with incredible talent, and this film really shows it. This film can also be called A Nightmare on Elm Street part 8 and Friday the 13th part 11. Also a another sequel is coming out next year, the script is already written and production will begin very soon. This is a great film for anyone, whether your a fan of the NOES series or not, this a great movie to watch not only for the special effects, but because the two greatest horror legends ever make a comeback in the same film for the first time. I promise you will really enjoy this film, whether your a horror fan or not.
The taglines for this film are winner kills all, and evil will battle evil. This is the plot for the film, just in case you want to know, but it's not a SPOILER! The ultimate forms of terror are about to be unleashed once again. Dream demon Freddy Krueger (Robert Englund) is desperate to terrorize the teenagers of Elm St. once again, but he can't since the parents of Springwood have found a way to make the kids forget about him while doping them up with dream suppressant Hypnocil. So, in order to inspire terror, Freddy manipulates hulking, hockey-masked serial killer Jason Voorhees (Ken Kirzinger), through visions of his mother (Paula Shaw), to go to Elm Street and dispatch the kids so the town will think that Freddy has returned. But his plans don't go according to schedule when Jason starts to kill all of his "children," which really angers Freddy. And that's when Jason finds out that Freddy has used him, which really sends him over the edge. So, it's up to teens Will Rollins (Jason Ritter), Lori Campbell (Monica Keena), and Kia (Kelly Rowland), along with a few other survivors, to get Jason back to Camp Crystal Lake and Freddy out of the dream world for both of them to kill each other once and for all. Who will win the ultimate battle between Evil and Evil, watch this film and find out, you may be suprised! I really give to thanks to Ronny Yu for bringing the two horror legends back to life. THANKS RONNY YU!! YOUR THE BEST!!!!
Rating: Summary: A Tremendous Success - The Freddie vs Jason Movie Review: glad i got this on dvd
glad I saw it in theatres too
it made me laugh a bit at times
there was some humor
and also a fair amount of gore
some of the kids I sat behind who were in their late teens were like I gotta kill someone like that that's cool. see that's the difference between people who see movies to enjoy them. and people who see movies to be sick little f***s. it's a movie don't imitate. just enjoy the scare and thrill ride. and if you're like me. watch it again and again. even the ending is quite interesting. the extras for this shocker movie are quite pleasing. amazing stuff you learn about the movie you didn't know.
Rating: Summary: A Hack and Slash fest in the ultimate showdown! Review: I don't know why Ken Hodder(who originally played the lead character in Friday the 13th) wasn't in this picture(it is a shame) but Ken Hirzinger does a very credible job in portraying everyones' favourite camp hackmeister Jason Vorhees.
And of course there's no one out there that could ever play everyones' favourite slashman Freddie Kreuger but Robert Englund.Without overstating it he really "owns" the part.
This movie ably directed by chinese director Ronny Yu is a fine showcase for the title characters and they have plenty of on screen time to show us all that they haven't lost their touch one bit.Mr.Yu keeps the movie flowing along at a good pace and he enhances many a scene giving them a fuller and more interesting dynamic than might have been handled by other lesser directors.
The final climactic showdown does not disappoint one iota. It's a gorefest even I found myself wincing and turning away briefly from periodically.
I think everyone at New Line cinema should be proud of this film.Robert Shaye, the head honcho, has been particularly picky over the years regarding scripts for all the Freddie movies. He is one of the very few people in any studio who has actually welcomed input and discussion from the fans of his Nightmare franchise.....and that goes for the creator Wes Craven also.
Also all involved have gone to great pains to keep Freddies' character consistent from the first picture to the last. And they have continued this with their latest entry. The character of Jason has also, from what I can see, been treated in the same respectful manner which makes this picture even more of a delight to watch.
In conclusion this film is a very worthy successor to all previous Jason and Freddie movies from the past. And it will definitely not disappoint any fans casual or hard core at all.I can smell sequel...and can't wait.
Rating: Summary: It is a blood store Review: How can you people like this movie. In the first place, the Friday the 13th series aren't scay at all, same for the Nightmare on Elm Streen movies. All this movie does is throw fake blood on something and do some cheesy stabing effects. Although I did like one kill.
