Summary: The long-awaited confrontation arrives !!!!
Review: Finally ! I just returned from seeing the premier of this movie in the UK, and in the mist of already rose-tinted nostalgia about the movie, i may of given it a star too many above, but DAMN!! This is a great movie !!!

I'm a huge horror fan. And whilst i normally prefer more subtle and less nasty horror such as My Little Eye, The Ring, Dellamorte Dellamore, Lost Highway (it's horror to me!) I do love a slick, fun and scary iconic slasher.H20 did it for me, and as a collector of all the freddy, halloween, hellraiser, and jason flicks you can imagine how long ive been waiting for this particular movie.

Now....to begin with...Ronny Yu does perhaps his greatest work here.I was never a real fan of his much cheered Bride Of Chucky finding it just too goofy, and silly to put any real scares into me. But here he delivers, with snappy directing, Lovely composition, and the best Cinematography and lighting that i've seen in either franchise.Make no mistake - this is possibly the slickest slasher film ever.Though it does have flaws. This is by no way perfect. The opening sequence is entirely unnecessary as we float through a 'previously on freddy...' intro. The worst thing about this is freddy's voice over. It's silly, and not needed. But this film is one that matures as it progresses. It starts off at it's worst, and gradually becomes stronger and more confident until the final 20 minutes are a powerhouse of brutal perfection. This film really breaks into its stride when Freddy and Jason T-off at Camp Crystal Lake.

The only other bad news is that the much touted three endings were eventually scrapped for one ending. But i have to say that (aside from the last 2 seconds - literally - ) it was an incredibly satisfying ending. But try to just look at this movie as Round one.The ending - whilst conclusive enough and definitely strong, is by no means the end of the story. And for all you Freddy lovers out there....feel ashamed - as he is portrayed as the truely evil and satanic bad guy that he should be seen as (considering that he is a child murderer).Jason is certainly the 'good' bad guy here and is portrayed as almost a victim just out for revenge. We get some gorgeously filmed shots near the end as Jason wades through Crystal Lake with his head hung low in melancholy.Anyone worried by the absence of Kane Hodder as Jason shouldn't be - his replacement injects a level of depth to the character that we have never seen before. Jason has NEVER EVER looked so good.

So over-all? Well this is by far the best JASON film, and to be honest, only the original Nightmare On Elm Street can challenge it from Freddy's resume....but bear in mind that that movie was made to scare the s@#t out of you and this one is more of a party.
A hard-hitting, brutal, Date-rape of a party.

(You may of noticed that there is no plot outline here, and that is only because out of the 100's of reviews i've read they all just tell the story, and none of them explain the feel. So i've tried to fill that gap here. Let me know if it was helpful or if you want any more info)

Summary: freddyhawk?
Review: Ask yourself: how can these two ever interact? Freddy only exists in the dreamworld and Jason never sleeps. Assuming that Jason did enter REM sleep I'm betting it would not be pretty, but the man just seems to walk around sleep deprived all the time. I'm betting this is going to be more like that Rutger Hauer romance film where he's a wolf all night and Michell Pfieffer is a hawk all day. Except with more evil. They'll have to befriend some kid who'll be the go-between for their worlds but then they'll both end up trying to kill him. The kid will then have to break the spell that keeps them apart, thinking this will save him, but when he does the terrible truth will be revealed: Jason and Freddy are actually pals and now they can work together. Ahhhhhhhhh!

Summary: Pretty entertaining and fun!!
Review: Went to the first showing of this surprisingly good movie and would highly recommend it-while not as sick and twisted as recent films like House Of 1000 Corpses, it is much more entertaining. Any fans of either series will be awash in nostalgia for the ninety minute running time.
The plot: Freddy recruits Jason to instill fear into some teens so he can feed upon that fear to be more powerful. He does this by impersonating Jason's deceased mother, needless to say when Jason uncovers the ruse he is quite angry and out for revenge.
Robert Englund is simply great as Freddy Krueger and Jason has never been more imposing and menacing. The pacing is brisk and there is plentiful action, not to mention enough gore and nudity to keep most fans satisfied. The showdown between Freddy and Jason is very intense. The best thing is the special effects people did NOT rely on crappy CGI effects to keep this film afloat. For the most part the effects are done the old fashioned way, using techniques pioneered by genius Tom Savini.
The only drawback to this film was the annoying performance by Kelly Rowland from Destiny's Child, if one artist has proven you don't need talent to suceed in the music business it is Kelly Rowland and her awful music. Here she suceeds in proving you don't need acting talent to be in a film. Why are all these R&B artists crossing over to horror...wasn't it bad enough Busta Rhymes ruined Halloween Resurrection..The only exception is LL Cool J who did great in both Deep Blue Sea and Halloween H20.
All in all, a very cool film worth your theatre going bucks!!

Summary: Awesome !!!
Review: I truly enjoyed the movie. I can't wait until it comes out on dvd. A lot of movie critics don't like the movie or don't understand the story. If you don't understand it, it's most likely because you don't want to understand it. The die-hard fans like me understand and appreciate all the hard work, dedication, and money that went in to making this movie. It is for fun only. It's not real life. Don't take it too seriously. It's for entertainment only!!!

Summary: To Die By Thy Own Hand...
Review: Freddy Vs Jason almost lived up to my lofty expectations. I have been a lifelong fan of both series and have been waiting literally 18 years for this film. The plot is simple yet intriguing: the residents of Elm Street (and town) have been forced to forget Freddy Kruger by being drugged and having their memories erased, thus leaving Freddy powerless to enter their dreams. So Freddy, scours the bowels of hell searching for a soul he can manipulate into bringing fear into the Elm Street teens. Well, no one is more fiercesome than Jason Voorhees. Freddy poses as Jason's dead mother and implores him to kill all the naughty children of Elm Street. The problem is that Jason is sort of like a bag of Lays potato chips, he can't KILL just one. He goes berserk and starts killing everyone, even the victims Freddy intends to kill, thus causing a showdown. The problem with Freddy Vs Jason lies in the absence of screen time for both protagonists, instead we are forced to listen to and follow the stupid teens. However, the film does pick up in it's final 45 minutes enough to rescue the movie as a whole. The fight scenes between Kruger and Voorhees are magical and sent chills up my spine. I would not have had any problem watching these two slice and dice each other for the whole film. The final battle is truly awesome but the best fight scene lies in the showdown in Jason's dream. A sequel is all but assured by the last scene which is great, but as another reviewer wrote why not add another psycho to the mix like Michael Myers, Pinhead or Leatherface, it would only make us fans of the genre that much more pumped for the sequel. Highly Recommended.

Summary: Wholesome? Yummy? Yup!
Review: FREDDY vs. JASON

Having come fresh from the theatre, I am still smiling and reminiscing over what I have just seen...

This is one of the best movies I have experienced this year. FvJ is a wholesome; kick your ...horror movie that doesn't let up!

Freddy is better than ever - full of rage and vengeance. Jason is as powerful as he has ever been, but in this movie, there is more of him to fear - or love as you will.

Wait a sec... Did I just say wholesome? Yeah, that's right. This movie has abundant blood, slit flesh, bare breasts, teen sex, drug use, and moments that wow you so much you will laugh giddily. How yummy!

With a machete and four razor-fingers slicing and stabbing, FvJ was destined to be a great horror movie. But it surpasses that. This is a great ACTION movie as well. Freddy has moves that Jackie Chan would grin about for an hour. No, there's no kung fu here, but Freddy is fast and agile, kicking Jason here, stabbing him there, and slicing deep all over, tossing huge machinery at him. Nevertheless, Jason is a powerhouse of legend himself. He adapts to Freddy's techniques and stands strong, making his own hits count as much as anything Freddy does to him, and he always gets back up.

The acting by all involved is well written and performed. I was enraptured by the story as it kept moving yet still had moments to breathe. There are many homages to previous movies for both Freddy and Jason, while giving a more in-depth look at the origins of both characters. These sequences are well done and far from boring because every moment moves to increase the suspense, knowledge, and fun of the film. I refuse to go into depth about the story, as I want all to see this film and enjoy it!

FvJ Rocks hard and keeps on going. I was pleased by the story - very well written. The timing was perfectly executed. The acting is great and the blood - delicious!

FvJ surpasses all expectations and I give it two machetes to the heart!

Mmm-mmm! That tasted so good - I gotta have another bite.

Summary: Freddy vs. Jason - Well Worth the Wait
Review: I just got back from it and it is kickin' like Van Damme. Without giving too much away, here's the situation.

The adults have conspired to make people forget about Freddy Krueger. If they don't know about him, how can they be scared of him; fear is what gives Freddy his power.

Jason is risen by manipulation of Freddy. You don't actually see either of them in hell. Although that would've been a great fighting scene.

Just like Valdemorte, from Harry Potter, nobody mentions Freddy's name. Except in one accidental incident.

Watch for two Jay and Silent Bob wannabe's. They are excellent.

Crystal Lake; the final fighting ground? Wink.

Summary: Holy ...Camole!!!
Review: If you have yet to see this brilliant genre-defining, rule-bending, heart-warming (just kidding), piece of cinema, I feel very, very sorry for your unfortunate soul. Of course it is 3 in the morning on opening day so not many of you have seen it yet. All I can say is (insert title of review here)!!! Do you miss the frosted chill that runs down your spine when a teenager falls asleep? Or the senseless drug-use and nudity that comes with a killer in sport's gear? Of course you do! It doesn't even matter which of these you miss most. If you're a fan of either of these films, you will enjoy every nerve-racking minute of Freddy vs Jason! Just don't plan a camping trip anytime soon. But if you must, don't stay over night.
