Review: I really thought Macaulay was great but Green was brilliant!! This film should win all oscars! I loved when the credits came on. But it was a great story about pointless unconscious farts.

Summary: Disturbingly Cool
Review: I've seen this movie, and I have to say it was a little shocking. There's an obscene amount of drug use, and the fact little Richie Rich is doing half the drugs in the movie makes it even weirder. But it is still a great movie. I found it supremely entertaining from the very first frame of Seth Green talking like a flambouyant newscatser.But despite how hilarious this movie is, it is not a feel good movie. The ending will leave feeling empty and cold. But after you look back at Marylin Manson being a German transvestite, it all works out. The book, Disco Bloodbath by James St. James, is unlike anything you'll ever read. And it plays a pretty important role in the movie too. I suggest the book as well as the movie.

im buying the dvd. quite happy that its coming out. i was wondering if it was gonna be one of those films that some people heard about but is impossible to find.
maculay culkin. i remember him when he was a little bitty thing but then again who doesnt. that guy can act. im glad to see him coming out with something he really wanted to do. plus see that famous smile of his again. gotta love that guy.

Summary: Live the Surreal Life
Review: Okay, you've probably heard Michael Alig's story at least a dozen times before. If not, you're either too young, too old, or you're simply not a fan of pop culture. This story is GREAT. If this never happened and the story was pitched to a publisher or movie studio, they'd probably say "tone it down, it's a little too crazy". Well, meet The Club Kids. Whether you were homeless or a trust fund baby... either way you could blend in while truly standing out. The movie is great largely because the story is just too good for it to contribute to a bad film. I think the acting and direction was great. Another reviewer said something about it feeling like an "after school special". Well, these kids created a surreal life and it's hard to look back and remember that this was real life. Only two complaints. First, I'd like to see an extended version. I think the movie sort of flies through things leaving you with only a taste of what was going on. Second, as a big techno fan who's always appreciated Keoki's tracks, I have a hard time watching him portrayed as anything except a true superstar DJ. Now that's all a matter of opinion, and I'm sure plenty of others would prefer to "burn me, nail me, kick me, bite me" rather than listen to me. Watch it and enjoy. Oh!!! But the conservative should probably stay away. Lots of drag and drugs.

Summary: Top 10 Movie
Review: After I went and saw this movie, I couldn't get it out of my head for days! I loved it...absolutely loved it! It made me laugh...it was beyond the usual humor, which made it more funny. I own the soundtrack and the shockumentry also. Love it all. I can't wait to buy the movie in February and watch it again and again!

Summary: Party Monster (Michael Alig) Obsessed
Review: This is one of the most interesting movies I have ever seen. I live in Indiana so you know they aren't going to show it here regardless of the fact that Michael Alig is from South Bend. I went to California and on the top of my agenda was to find out where this was playing and I was lucky enough to actually see it. Believe me, I was not disappointed! McCauley Culkin did an awesome job and made a tremendous choice for a comeback. (I like anyone who is willing to take a risk.) And Seth Green was a riot. Two of my favorite actors in the same film. The rest of the cast was great too and whoever did the casting was either a genious or really lucky. I wanted to make a comment regarding the fact that alot of people are upset that there were no "gay" scenes in the movie. I didn't feel that this movie was about a gay relationship. It was a movie about a murder. A cold-blooded murder that was committed by someone that everyone still wants to meet and be friends with. I think the directors did a magnificent job in getting that feel out and getting that message across to everyone. I am looking forward to owning my own personal copy in February. PS. I already own the book, the soundtrack and the documentary. I suggest getting them all.

...But alas,,,having read James St. James's 'Disco Bloodbath' promptly upon it being published, i could somewhat fill in the 'blanks' of the final film. After all the years of being aware of these 'celebrities' and their escapades... ///especially those who used to read Alig's "Project X" mag/// , , , OR really, any of those who lived/worked in those "stylish subculture underground clubs" found in many metro areas during the oh-so-clever-and-gay 'Pre-Rave' club days will probably appreciate in some way this docu-dramatic "trip" into remembering the times back then ,,, I forsee that someday = likely around 2013 , the "Special edition Directors edition +plus+ " DVD(s) and soundtrack will be must-own-items for multitudes of new baby club creatures!

Summary: sick and demented, a great time
Review: I liked this movie to the point where I couldnt stand it anymore but all in all it was a good view. Culkin is ok but he is overpowered by the performance of Seth Green who shines in this flick. not for everyones taste. MArilyn Manson, Chloe Sevingy and Wilmer Valderama also star. highlight is when Seth Green and Culkin are on that talk show and Green is a troll

Summary: Monstrously bad
Review: This biopic of club kid/murderer Michael Alig is monstrously bad. The quality of the script, acting and style are on par with your average WB teen melodrama, but with a gigantic budget for drugs. If Macaulay Culkin intended this to be his comeback vehicle, think again Mac. The only reedeming qualities of this flick are the costumes, Diana "Christina Crawford" Scarwid as Mama Alig with a coiffure by Hedwig and the Angry Inch, and Seth Green as Michael's pal and social mentor, James St. James. Green portrays the most flamboyant character yet offers the most restrained performance, while parading around in outrageous costumes and six-inch heels. Yes, St. James is absolutely larger than life, but I didn't feel that Green was straining to emote, unlike the other actors. He was the only actor who wasn't completely tripped up by what a "controversial" personality he was portraying. Additionally, this was one of the most homophobic gay films I've ever seen. Michael and his boyfriend lean in for a kiss and it fades to black? Give me a break.

Summary: not as good as the book
Review: I suggest that you read the book instead. It explains things in detail and gives you a much better picture of the club kids. I was so excited to see the film because I loved the book, but honestly it was a let down. It rushed through everything and did not go into great detail about anything that happened, infact some of the characters mentioned in the book were not even in the film. Good acting, bad story line. However, Party Monster The Shockumentary, now that is something that you need to see.
