Summary: Awesome and funny movie!
Review: It's in the Water is a must see for everyone, both gay and straight! I watch this over and over, and I never get tired of it. The characters are great. I even love to watch Lily! If you haven't seen it and are afraid to purchase it first...DON'T BE! It is great....I even gave it to a few friends as gifts for Christmas!

Summary: Very cute co-stars!
Review: Before I purchased this movie, I read some other reviews and one of them said this movie had the best line before the first kiss ever and I must agree. In my opinion (straight girl for 38 years and lately I have asking what if?), this is one of the best movies I have seen with a lesbian theme. This movie had several parts that hit very closed to home. For example, one of the girls in the movie goes and rents 7 or 8 movies with lesbian themes because of feelings she is having; I purchased almost the same ones she rented. My reaction to watching the movies were about the same as hers. One more point. There were no sex scenes in this movie but some beauitful kissing. A must see!

Summary: Embarassing and Condescending...
Review: The premise is cute - a rumor that the water was making people gay. However, setting the scene with ultra stereo-typed 'straight' homophobes pitted against an AIDS hospice was just in bad taste. All the gays in this film are the extended maximum stereotypes as well, making the entire cast look insensitive, stupid and annoying. To add to the distate, it takes place in Texas (well, maybe that part did make sense). The characters are all stupid, annoying and two-dimensional. I feel like I wasted my time just writing this review.

Summary: don't waste your money
Review: I read the prior reviews. I think some were 'planted' by the producer to get more money because this movie is just flat out bad. It's like porn stars trying to act with words.
Save your money folks...or donate to a local acting club in order to support some of these people.

Summary: Too bad about the acting
Review: This wasn't the worst movie I've ever seen in this genre, which is pretty sparse to begin with, but I was a little disappointed. The scenery and score was pretty good but the characters were so exaggerated and the acting so terrible that it was more like a "B movie". There were some funny parts and some "lessons", but if you're looking for a deep and meaningful movie, look on.

Summary: It's in the DVD Player
Review: For a small budget film, WATER is well made. I enjoyed listening to the commentary as much as watching the film by itself. The two leads and director obviously had a lot of fun making it, and I was actually surprised to discover that our protagonists were played by straight actresses. They were very good and had great chemistry. The story is a familiar one of self-realization that never gets old.

The IN THE WATER part of the film is silly but has a point: The obsurd belief some people have that being gay is something you can catch or be converted to. Over all, it serves no real function in the film, but it's point is still genuine. As I am from Texas, I can tell you that most of the characters are so close to real I recognise people I know in them. Image still matters above all in some places, and gossip abounds. I definantly recommend this for some light hearted viewing, a date or an afternoon of relaxation. It's fun and funny, won't bring you down with even some of the serious moments, and leave you with a little Gospel song.

Summary: Lighten Up! Just Enjoy the Movie!
Review: I'm glad I bought this movie. It's entertaining and a great deal of fun with some great scenes besides.

Part of my fun was identifying the Southern types ... Florence King lists in her book, "Southern Ladies and Gentlemen" (which is a good read itself)with various characters in the movie. Also, those of us who decided to do some "research" by reading or watching movies before actually coming out can relate to Alex's embarassment while her video rentals are being checked out. The kissing scenes are the most passionate I've ever seen in a lesbian video.

I really didn't think there were any major problems with the acting and what few there were weren't worth dwelling on for the rest of the movie or were easily overlooked.

The only expectation you should have while watching this movie is to be entertained, and "It's in the Water" delivers in full.

Summary: Worth you time
Review: Okay, the acting isn't that great and the characters are a little stereotypical, but this film is still fun and worth watching. It addresses real social issues--coming out, AIDS, prejudice--in a faily light-hearted style that will keep your attention and not leave you feeling cheated by the film's shortcomings.

Summary: Cure for Insomnia Found
Review: Feeble comedy features an implausible story about "Gay panic" in a small Southern town. With poor production values, flat acting, crummy camerawork and plenty of PC bludgeoning, _It's in the Water_ fails on nearly every level. Still, film-festival audiences lapped up this dreck, possibly because it portrays Straight people as complete morons and Gays as saints-in-training. I believe I may have chuckled once.

Summary: Funny indie
Review: If you watch this movie thinking you're going to get something that was made by a mainstream big budget production company, forget it. You have to keep an open mind. It is a very independent looking film, but it is still quite humorous and I give it a plus for the effort(it is not easy to make a film.)It's a nice dvd to add to your collection.(Especially since the two main female characters are hot! I guess that makes my opinion a little bias. But the male couple are very cute together as well.)
