Summary: Excellent!
Review: A gay couple have to feign being straight to meet their "son's" future in-laws. Add Robin Williams, Nathan Lane and Hank Azaria to that and you have one VERY entertaining film! Williams is not his usual manic self, instead he plays straight (no pun intended) man to Lane's hysterical character, Albert. But I really thought Hank Azaria, as their maid, stole the show! Especially the scene where he is cleaning the house in a red wig while listening to Gloria Estefan! And his accent...what a performance! I was amazed at his talent. As "Nat" the dog walker on "Mad About You", you haven't a clue as to just how funny Azaria can be. I highly reccomend this film.

Summary: Hilarious!
Review: This is the funniest movie I've ever seen. It keeps you laughing the whole time. Too bad there aren't more movies as funny as this.

Summary: THIS IS THE FUNNIEST MOVIE I'VE EVER SEEN!!!!!
Review: My best friend and I are big Robin Williams fans and this is, in our opinion, one of his best movies yet. He and Nathan Lane are perfect for this movie, portraing two middle-aged fags. I HIGHLY reccomend this video.

Summary: I totally disagree with Kathy!!
Review: The French version was ok but the American was a lot better. The cast in the french version was slow and well boring. The movie itself was bad the lighting, voices, actors and actresses I didnt like it at all. In the American version it is fast good lighting good actors and actresses and downright funny, and for us americans a lot easier to watch! So I give it 5 stars all the way!!

Summary: The funniest movie I have ever seen!
Review: If you are looking for a good laugh, "The birdcage" is it! I laughed so hard that my stomach hurt. There couldn't have been a better choice of actors for this movie. This depicts the "alternative lifestyle" of some middle-aged men, and their son who wants to do something bad, marry a woman! His dad and his "partner" don't consent to this at all. Then, it gets even worse when he tells his fiance's parents that his parents are married and that his father is an artist! This is a movie filled with laughs, laughs, laughs, and more laughs. I guarantee that you could not watch this movie and not laugh at all. I would recomend this movie to anyone who likes a good comedy.

Summary: Entertaining, but pale next to the French original.
Review: The original French film, La Cage aux Folles, was so good that The Birdcage falls on its face, much like Benny Luke's hilarious Jacob in the farcical French version. Robin Williams is disappointingly unconvincing, and somehow the humor of the French lines fizzles in the English translation. The cast tries hard, but this remake is ponderous. Skip it and see La Cage aux Folles instead.

Summary: A terrifically funny movie
Review: This movie is wonderful, I always rent it when I want a good laugh. :

Summary: Not as funny as it was in the 70's.
Review: It does not cause impact as the 1st version did. The film is too slow, the preparation of the final dinner is endless. Mike Nichols' direction is straight. But the cast is a highlight. Robin Williams and Nathan Lane make us believe they're really a couple. Gene Hackman has the funniest scene in the movie, dressed as an uncomfortable drag queen. The film is a must for Ally McBeal's Calista Flockhart fans - she plays a beautiful, fresh, youthful and nice daughter-in-law that every parent wishes to have. The film will be better appreciated by the viewers who like to see good acting performances.

Summary: Great Film: Fun, Funny and Touching
Review: This is one of my favorites... Nathan Lane is -- pardon the expression -- "screaming-ly" funny as Albert, half of the gay couple whose son returns home from college to announce his engagement to the daughter of ultra-conservative Senator Keeley (fabulously fleshed out by Gene Hackman, whose comedic timing and delivery is superb!). Robin Williams low-key characterization of Armand is the perfect foil for Lane's "to the hilt" performance. Diane Wiest shines as the Senator's dutiful political wife, while Hank Azaria is Armand's and Albert's "hot" Guatemalan house-man/showgirl wanna-be. Nichol's great directing, a fabulous script and the inspired casting make a terrifically entertaining film. It's just so much fun to watch!--- Love it!
