Summary: Simple yet powerful and engrossing!
Review: This is a film that will forever be remembered. Never have I been so intrigued by the characters in a story. Originality and an understanding of human emotions make this one a must see, particularly for homophobic people.

Summary: Bravo!!!
Review: Rhea's character struggles to come to grips with leaving the IRA; a culture which he embraced but now realizes is responsible for destroying many a life. Those who shun this movie because of the "big surprise" have missed a wonderful movie. The cast does a wonderful job with Jordan's screenplay.

Summary: There are good surprises, and there are bad surprises...
Review: Call me homophobic if you will, but I was entirely grossed out by "the big surprise" of this film. Oh, it started out OK, but I seriously can't recommend this one to anybody, unless you find yourself attracted to transvestites --- in which case this flick is for you!!!

Summary: beautifully unpredictable plot and refined script
Review: The Crying Game is a favorite. The plot is unpredictable and seems to be analogous to the ironic short story about the frog and scorpion. Jody (the prisoner), hoodwinked and held captive by the IRA in the beginning, lures (stings) Fergus (IRA volunteer) into his life. Very unique and intriguing roles played by refined artists. Watch it twice. Listen closely to the prisoner's wise befriending tactics in the beginning and how Fergus responds with sympathy as he seeks Jody's lover. Rea's character is most suductive although tragic.

Summary: One of the five best films of the decade
Review: This is a REMARKABLE love story.

Forget *Titanic* and *Gone with the Wind*; those overblown and long-winded epics never get down to the real flesh of what love IS. Forget *Romeo and Juliet*; Shakespeare was obviously out for the bucks in that one and didn't spend a whole of effort in writing it.

For the three people in the world who haven't seen it yet, I won't give away the secret. I'll simply say that the love story that unfolds between our hero and his lover is remarkable and simple, in spite of and because of the twist that made this a controversial film.

Steven Rea, Miranda Richardson, and Jaye Davidson all turn out remarkable performances in this movie. This film has been the highlight of Davidson's career thus far (let's face it, he was a mediocre Ra in "Stargate"), but it lacks for nothing regardless.

The success and clarity with which the film comes to its theme is also stunning. "It's in my nature." How simple, yet how eloquent! I can think of no better way of describing this film.

Summary: A scorpion and a frog
Review: The story that British soldier tells summarizes the movie very brilliantly. Though the casting and the screenplay is sucessful I recommed you to see that movie just the hear that story of a scorpion and frog. Then you'll get the message and love the movie especially Boy George singing the Crying Game at the end.

Summary: Film Making at its Best
Review: Wonderful script, direction and performances from the entire cast (though you can tell from Whitaker's bowling action that he's never played cricket before, ergo he isn't really English but an American prentending to be - but I'm being really pedantic now). Even if you know the film's secret it is immensely watchable again and again.

Summary: I thought it was a very twisted love affair.
Review: I thought this movie was fair. In the begining its hard to follow. But if you pay close attention it starts to come together. It's a movie that is full of shocking surprises and a twisted love affair. Get ready to be in shock is the mystery unfolds!!!!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: One of the most creative movies that I have ever seen!
