Summary: Very Short Workout
Review: I would recommend this tape to people who do NOT have time for the Rolls Royce of kickboxing workouts Tae-Bo...Each workout is only 15-20 minutes long but there are some good moves..I wouldnt buy this tape if I was looking for something hardcore but its not useless.. if you are pressed for time you can do this tape..

Summary: Cheesy
Review: Just by his name, Silk Manning, you can tell how cheesy the workout is. The music is so annoying and he is even more so. With a background in kickboxing, I found his movements incorrect and his instructions lacking. I can see how a newcomer could hurt themselves because he does not instruct properly how to follow through with the movements. It DOES get your heart rate up and you will sweat. However, it won't be the workout that you are dying to do.

Summary: Rip Off
Review: Straight from the hype of tae bo is this new workout video. This regiment is way too advanced for most viewers. The moves are almost impossible to complete. who can do a double spinning scissor kick in an hours practice? not me! its perfect for a good laugh though. the last move is the best. the flying turnaround split wind. IMPOSSIBLE!

Summary: Too short, off count, ...
Review: The only good thing I can say about this video is that I got it on sale. I consider myself to be on an intermediate/advanced work out level. This workout was just not enough, you warm up, do the cardio part of it (about ten minutes) and before you know it you're at the cool down portion. I read a few reviews about this DVD, and the one about the lump in his shorts is actually true... its so distracting, and the blond girl in the back doesn't have a clue what she's doing. The only person that seems motivated is Silk himself. I think i'll stick to my Tae Bo, even if its double the price. After i'm done, i don't feel worked out at all, this is not a good buy if you're a good athlete, nor if you are a beginner. The moves that are put together are too confusing. ...

Summary: Commercial on Silk too long...can't forward on DVD
Review: The workout part is good when you FINALLY get to it. You have to sit through the posing of Silk Manning in what seems to be forever and the DVD isn't programmed to advance to the start of the workout. When you start a workout, it goes immediately to the "how-to" part and you can't do anything but watch it everytime. So, you have to fool with seeing unuseable stuff for 10-15 minutes before you can begin exercising....and this is on the DVD.

Summary: Good moves, good cuing, but...
Review: There are no suggestions in this video to avoid injury (e.g. on deep bends, don't let your knees extend beyond your toes), and you can't just rewind the dvd by individual sections if you want to extend the warm-up or cardiovascular section. However, the beginner and intermediate workouts can be used one right after the other if you fast forward through the intro. I prefer Kick Butt Kombo, because you can just skip to each section you want to repeat to extend the cardio, warm-up or abs workouts.

Summary: Great Beginner Video
Review: This is a great dvd for beginners. Silk takes the time to explain the moves and keeps you motivated. If you're deciding between this and Tae Bo and you are a beginner, get this one first.

There are only 2 minor complaints.

1. The introduction you have to sit through of Silk Manning showing off his kickboxing moves is a bit corny. He's a model so I guess he couldn't help the urge to grab the spotlight for a minute.

2. Once you start getting comfortable with the intermediate level you begin to wish it was longer. Again, if you're a beginner the length of the workout is perfect, but once you move into intermediate you want more. Thats when I'd recommend you move to Tae Bo.

Summary: a quickie for the busy folks
Review: This tape actually has some comedic qualities to it..first of all,for those who like EXTREME beefcake there are PLENTY closeups of silks pecs,biceps,etc..(Its a Chippendales/Playgirl review and exercise tape in one!)....In the first segment Silks workout partners are a petite blonde who doesnt seem very tough but is very easy on the eyes, as well as another hardbody, a brunette who appears a bit tougher,in back of him is a thin dark haired guy who we cant and dont really see because he is blocked by all Silks muscle..The workout isnt too long, which is good for those who just want to get SOME kind of exercise in but DONT want to put in alot of time..Then we are "treated" to about 5 minutes of a shirtless Silk shadow boxing and doing martial arts moves,(I guess in case one of us happens to be some sort of agent with work for the chrome domed chiseled coach) and in the intermediate segment (OH JOY) we get to see Silk in a pair of short shorts which showcase his quads..Personally,I would recommend this tape to BUSY people and newbies, cos it is relatively short,or as an ADDITION to Tae Bo to break the monotony..

Summary: great alternative
Review: This was a much more enjoyable workout for me than Billy Blanks. The moves felt more realistic and Silk Manning was not out to work people to death. This does not include any ab work (just so you know).
