Summary: My first Kathy Smith experience has been great!
Review: I bought this video based upon some of these on-line reviews, and I don't regret it. Kathy is energetic, and gives you the feeling that she's on your side. The music has a good beat and the workout is fun, once you get past the first one or two times of fumbling around a bit. I highly recommend this one!

Summary: Good workout once you get the moves down
Review: When I first popped this tape in the VCR, I hated it.Not only was Kathy going WAY to fast for me,but all the grinning people shouting encouragement in the back did not help me one bit.But after a few times of doing what I could,I now can keep up perfectly with the workout, and it's great. If it weren't for the idiots in the background shrieking about how much fun they're having, this video would be five stars.Pretty good though, especially if you don't have a lot time to excersise.Kathy herself is likeable and if you can put up with the rest of the people on this tape, you'll love it.

Summary: This spunky cardio workout will leave you energized!
Review: Kathy Smith guides you through 2-20min. workouts as only she can, with good ques and movements that are easily followed. It's more like being in a real aerobics class than her previous videos, there are a dozen or so participants with microphones on so you can hear their remarks as well. The bonus stretch at the end is fabulous!

Summary: Fun and energetic, but moves a little difficult at first
Review: Although I loved the upbeat tempo and fun moves on this video, it was a little hard to follow the first time around. Now that I've been doing this video for a while now, I've really got the hang of it and enjoy it immensely.

Summary: As usual for a Kathy Smith video -- EXCELLENT!!!!!
Review: Another "5-star" video by the best!! Kathy keeps getting better all the time! This video is fun and energetic, yet it challenges you and produces results, as usual.

Kathy once again is motivational, fun, a tireless coach and also, and probably most important a friend who understands and cares, every time you put the video in.

She urges you to push yourself in her own unique way -- always encouraging and building your self image as well as muscle tone and good healthy living.

If you enjoy Kathy's videos, you'll love it -- if you haven't tried one of her videos yet, try this one, and have some fun getting fit!!

Summary: Energetic, Fast, & Fun
Review: Excellent video for fat burning. Dance to the tune of fast music and a bunch of fun loving aeorbicisers.

I have been able to loose pounds within weeks. Kathy smith knows how to motivate people to permanent weight control without dieting.

Summary: Great heart-pumping, sweat-inducing workout!
Review: I have been exercising to aerobic workout tapes for about 15 years now. I'm in good shape, but, after having a baby daughter, I don't have as much time to work out as I used to.

This tape is great. The workout is a challenge--not too easy for experienced exercisers, but not too hard for beginners.

The only drawback is that Kathy and her "helpers" are a little too perky and cheery, hence the 4-star review instead of 5. I always liked Kathy Smith because she never peppered her workouts with too many phony "you can do it!" and "who-hoos!" She was in a good mood but not overly cheerful like other aerobic instructors. But I can ignore this part of it in order to get a great workout.

Yes, there is no formal "warm-up," but the first few minutes of the workout are pretty slow and easy, so that's like a warm-up for me. To be honest, I have always skipped past the warm-up section of any workout and proceeded directly to the main program, and I have not injured myself, ever. So this was not a problem for me.

Summary: Too fast and no rhythm
Review: This workout does keep your heart rate up and energizes you. However, Kathy Smith is very bad at teaching the different steps. There is no time to learn the step and often at the end of the combination I'm still trying to figure out the steps from the beginning. This makes it very hard to keep up with the video. I own many home exercise videos and know the typical aerobics steps (from jazzercise, home videos, etc), yet this video is very hard to follow. Often times, there isn't a very good lead in to the next step or next combination. Also, the steps do not follow the rhythm of the music at all, which makes them twice as hard to follow.
I would definitely not recommend this tape to a beginner. While the intensity is do-able by any level, following the exercises is not.

Summary: Delivers what it promises
Review: This workout really isn't very dancy (after doing it once or twice you will master everything), and if it had no combinations, it would be dull.
It is efficient, high energy (a little jumbled at times, but I didn't really care). Kathy is enthusiastic and the video is enjoyable.
Contrary to those who complain about the lack of warm-up and cool-down, I'm glad it's a full 20 minutes of cardio. If Kathy added in both warm-up and cool-down, we would do less cardio. Not to mention that she says to do something to warm up!

The first section is easier - but probably more fun. The second section is a push - seems more like drills.
I recommend this video because it is fun, and it is a staple in my busy life. There is no equipment necessary! There are not too many videos that give you 2 challenging cardio routines - this one is great on its own or when you want to mix and match your workouts (like by combining a pilates video)

Summary: Too much rush for a workout
Review: I have another Kathy Smith DVD so I am familiar with her steps but this workout was just way too rushed. It was not a smooth, rhythmic workout at all. The combination moves are not introduced well - by the time they were on the 4th move of a combination, I was still trying to get the 1st and 2nd one down. I agree with the other reviews that this DVD is not a good idea if you are working out on a carpeted surface. I would rather slow it down a bit even if it means working out for 10 more minutes so that I could actually participate fully in the routine.
