Summary: No regrets about buying this DVD.
Review: At first i was unsure about buying this DVD. But now , I have no regrets. The workout is challenging , but easy to follow. It doesn't "hurt" but you definetly feel a few sore muscles the next day. The instructor is great^^ She explains everything in a friendly , yet no-nonsense way. The setting is lovely. Even though I was hoping for some cool music to go with it , you can turn the music off. The exercises are awesome! Even the background people are great. They are all VERY fit and impressive. the only thingh I was there was more of , is a warm up. At the beginning , where the warm up *would* be , all you see is them doing impressive stretches. So strach before turning it on , and you'll have a blast!!!

Summary: simple moves yet very effective!
Review: i bought this dvd a few weeks ago and i was a little hesitant to do it, but i made myself do it the other day and i can't believe how much i enjoyed it!!
it is about 38 mins long, which much seem torturous at first, time flew by sooooooo quick i thought it was a 20mins workout.
I really enjoyed it, the setting, the instructor and even the background people were very pleasant (which is a lot to say about workout vids).
The workout itself has an abs section, and a short legs/buns section, and a short but great back section.
It does lack a long enough warm up, so i'd recommend to warm up first before starting this workout.
All in all the best pilates workout i've seen so far for NONE advaced pilates people.
I do pilates once a month (yeah i'm not an avid user but i do tae bo and run), and i could do this workout no problem.
simple moves yet very effective!
I highly recommend this workout, you'll enjoy as much as I do!

Summary: As good as Pilates workout at the gym!
Review: I have been taking Pilates classes for 6 months at the local gym, I also own a bunch of tapes and books, but I have to admit this DVD is my favorite! Kristin's instructions are very comprehensible, the workout is perfectly coordinated so that you work your whole body in short period of time. Just be ready to provide your own soundtrack, since the original one seems out of place!
I would highly recommend MTV Pilates DVD for for people with all levels of fitness. You might want to check out MTV's 3 DVD pack with Pilates, Yoga and Power Yoga workouts as well.

Summary: 4 Stars without the Music
Review: I love the MTV Yoga workouts because the music is especially interesting. I thought the MTV Pilates workout would also feature music to really motivate me into a new level of fitness.

My dissapointment was immediately apparent. The music? What happened to the music? In previous workouts the music is at a higher volume than Kristin McGee's voice and in this workout the music is barely apparent. You also have to endure advertising at the beginning of the workout. I wanted to get right to working out and prefer the advertising to be at the end of the workout so I don't have to watch it each and every time. (Yes, forwarding is an option.)

The setting is the same as MTV Power Yoga: The beautiful mountains of Arizona. The mats are blue with a lavender center. All the colors seem to be either blue, lavender or burnt orange and mustard yellow. This creates a very natural setting against the mountains and slate/stone rooftop type garden.

I love the outdoor setting.

I love the instruction - Kristin's instruction is precise and she leads you through all the main Pilates exercises.

MUSIC: I can't really hear the music unless I increase the volume to an irritating level.

The music is not that inspiring (seems to loop a lot and it sounds like a broken record a lot of the time...arrggggg) and I hope they remake this with a different soundtrack. I'd absolutely not recommend the video because at least with the DVD you can use your own music and have the option of not being irritated by the music.

Normally I'd give MTV workouts 5 stars but this one really doesn't deserve it because of the music.

Apologies to Kristin who is an excellent instructor and who deserves a much more inspiring soundtrack. Common MTV - Give her a better soundtrack.

Kristin's Instruction: 5 Stars
Music: 1 Star

The music should be louder than Kristin's voice, end of story.

Summary: Not to be Taken Lightly
Review: I must agree that this video is not for beginners. Even the "beginner" versions shown in this and in "MTV Power Yoga" are pretty complicated. If you're still trying to lose fat and build flexibility, like I am, then you might want to start with Crunch's "Fat Burning Pilates" or Gaiam's "Yoga for Weight Loss with Suzanne Deason," or even the original "MTV Yoga," which featured a cast member from "The Real World" for the beginner version, rather than a trained instructor. But if you're relatively flexible already, and you're willing to push yourself, this is not a bad way to go.

Summary: Great workout that's not hard on you
Review: I recently bought 3 workout videos to try and this one is the easist to follow and doesn't beat your body up,but boy can you feel the results the next day. Very good for someone who hasn't worked out in awhile. I had trouble with the other videos keeping up with the workout but not this one and I wasn't TOTALLY exhausted afterwards and I can feel the effect the next day. I will recomend this to my daughter who just had a baby about 9 months ago.

Summary: One of the Best Pilates Videos
Review: I took a pilates class at a local gym and then decided to by some videos so that I can do it at home. I bought three video (Crunch:Pick you spot pilates and Windsor Pilates) and I loved this one the best. It has a total of 39 minutes and it goes through all the popular moves. I would recommend this video for people who work out regularly and want to try pilates.

Summary: pretty good-- def happy with the results
Review: i was a bit skeptical about buying this dvd, but after using it a couple of times, the results were amazing! my stomach is now much flatter and my legs look a whole lot better. the only problem is that some of the leg exercises might require you to be a bit more flexible in order to do them correctly.
