Summary: This is the one! Read review.
Review: I do not usually take the time to write reviews, however, I must write a review for a few of Denise Austin's newer videos that I have been seeing fabulous results from recently. I am the 35 year old mom of 3 young girls under the age of 8. I had gained more than 40 pounds that were (VERY) unwanted, from having kids, and dating my honey in college. Using a sensible, nutrition plan like Denise descibes in her "Shrink your female fat zones" - which means moderation, not short term deprivation which eventually results in you bouncing back and gaining extra pounds: Thus, I watch my carbs (focusing on consuming the "good" ones, eat lots of fruit and veggies, drink lots of water, and do have a sweet bite if I feel like it - but KNOW I must then go exercise it off). I have focused on learning about "proper" nutrition - what foods do to me literally, and sucking it up and cutting out the bad things like transfats, refined "dead" flours, and soda (yep, sorry - it can be tough to quit - but it's worth it!! And PLEASE do not drink diet sodas - unless you really are willing to accept that you may end up with Fibromyalgia or other negative side effects. I honestly feel fabulous since cutting out soda! I do have up to 2 cups of coffee per day - using Splenda to sweeten the coffee. For my exercise routine I am walking on my treadmill about 3 days a week (walking 2 miles at 4mph, takes 30 minutes = excellent cardio fat burner - put music cd on headset, read while walking or just get into the music and 2 miles goes by quickly) and then using Denise Austin's Get fit fast 3 video set (Abs, Arms and Shoulders, and Legs and Buns) a couple days per week, then also I have added the new Shrink you female fat zones video which is 2 - 20 minute segments - one with a stability ball, and one without. I am telling you that this simple easy-to-follow plan rocks! The short videos are awesome spot training - and you WILL know you worked your muscles! Each of the 3 videos has 3 different segments on them; advancing in difficulty as you go. All the newest, most effective moves are used - like ballet, kick boxing, etc. Then as far as the "Shrink your female fat zones" video - I just got it and I LOVE the workouts - both are short (easy to fit in with kids - you can workout while a baby is strapped in a high chair eating breakfast...hint, hint) yet like the other 3 videos, you'll KNOW you got a workout! And the stability ball... I LOVE IT!!! I noticed immedietly it gave me added support for my back and neck and it eliminates the need for a fancy, space-consuming weight machine! The results: I have gone from a size 12 medium/large to a size 8 small/medium - in only 2 months!!!!! I do not weigh myself often as per Denise Austin's teaching - because she is so right - the muscle I am creating is heavier than fat, BUT takes up MUCH less space! I do know from the last time I weighed myself, that I only have 20 more pounds to reach my target weight of 120 pounds for my petite 5'2" body - and I feel great! My husband told me a couple of days ago when he pinched my rear end ;-) that he noticed how firm I am getting!!!!! YES! I also have noticed that my abs (even after having a c-section 5 years ago) are very firm, my thighs are finally toning and shrinking, and my upper arms are finally near strapless-top condition!! The muscles are defining and cut! I have only made changes that I could keep for LIFE and done a little exercise nearly every day, just like Denise said. It has set the example for my children as well - since I have explained to them that the importance is that I am physically fit and strong and taking care of my muscles (which includes my heart!) I also highly recommend getting on Denise Austin's daily motivation and nutrition/exercise email list via Lifetime - I have gained so many nuggets from Denise! I also wanted to comment that I have been a long time (5 year) user of TaeBo - and it also is very effective and great for adding to Denise Austin's workouts for diversity. Using TaeBo over the past 5 years I have lost more that 3 inches in each thigh, my buttocks, etc - over 25 inches lost using the diverse but simple program I described - and YOU can do it too!

Summary: pitiful video, why did i waste my money on this woman
Review: i had to try this video, and totally regret it. I have not found one of Austins videos to help me, all she seems to do is bug me and now i have to donate another video to my library.

Summary: Anything that gets ME exercising is a good thing!
Review: I have to laugh at some of the comments made about Denise Austin's vocal cues and motivation style... I met her once, and she is EXACTLY the same in person - I found her extremely genuine and likable. Plus, anyone who can get me off the couch and exercising using weights and a stability ball is pure genius!

I'm not advanced enough to give a critical review of her programs and methodology, but I AM impressed that she moves quickly from one exercise to the next without creating a lot of muscle fatigue. Sticking with a program is the greatest goal anyone should have when beginning an exercise regime. With Denise Austin's Shrink Your Famale Fat Zones it's doable - even at 45 years old. I think she's great, but the stabilty ball takes a little getting used to.

Summary: This is great!
Review: I just got this DVD along with a body ball which I've never used before. I'm a pretty new exerciser (trying to shed those pounds) and usually try to do some sort of cardio. Although this does not leave me breathless, it did get my heart rate up and made me sweat a little. I could definitely see myself doing this regularly. I have done other Denise Austin videos before. In my opinion she can be a little annoying if you don't like someone to talk all the way through while you workout (which she does), but she isn't as annoying as others I've seen. She doesn't do those "woohoo"s and doesn't get all hyper. She's very soft spoken and encouraging to me. I especially liked the ab work which is my trouble zone. I could really feel the burn!! If you are an advanced exerciser, I wouldn't recommend this unless you're just wanting some good stretches and a little burn. But great for beginners/intermediates.

Summary: Perfect for the moderatly overweight/moderately out of shape
Review: I just got this DVD today and finished the workout a few minutes ago. I can definitly feel the burn in my abs, and I can tell my arms and legs will be a bit sore tommorrow! I am a 20 yr old college student, about 30 lbs overweight, not toned at all and pretty much out of shape but not completly (I can jog a 12 min mile and then I have to walk for a few minutes before I can even think of jogging some more). I found this video to be at a good level for me, and I think if I was less or more in shape it would still be good. I could do all of the exercises, although I could not get the full range of motion on a few (that was in part because while Denise reccomends 3-8lb weights, I only have 10 lbs). Denise talks constantly, and I found that motivating, although I would definitly not buy a yoga or other relaxing workout from her! The first 20 minutes uses free weights and the second 20 minutes uses a stability ball and free weights. The DVD does not pause in between the workout sections, but it is clear that if you only want a short workout, the time when Denise gets her stability ball is the time to stop the DVD. I did the first 20 min, made a 10 min phone call, and did the second 20 min. I am pretty sure I could have done the tape straight through with only a quick water break in the middle, although I was definitly breathing hard and sweating light-moderate. (The workout is not exactly cardio, but since I am out of shape, the effort of lifting weights and switching positions brought up my heartrate to where it would be maybe a minute or two into a slow jog)I also really liked that there were many excersizes to work each muscle and very few reps of each, so the muscle was worked for enough time without the movements getting to repetitive. I also liked how a boring movement such as arm curls with weights was made a little more bearable by rocking back in forth. Overall, I liked this tape and I feel it really worked my muscles, and as I strengthen I can increase the weight and range of motion and still be challanged.

Summary: Changed my body!!!
Review: I love this DVD!!!! I use it every other day and I have seen major results. My entire body has changed shape, I am toned and tight, and have lost weight adding this routine to my cardio. I find it hard to listen to her sometimes, but she is good, knows her stuff and got me curvier then ever!

Summary: A different kind of weight workout
Review: I love this video because of the way it challenges different muscle groups. The stability ball adds a twist to exercises and gives it variety. It's challenging without being boring. I use it regularly.

Summary: Great Toning Video
Review: I LOVE this workout - there are two complete 20 minute workouts which easily combine into one great workout. Two dumbells (for first 20 minute workout) and an exercise ball (for second workout) are needed. Although this workout is about toning (not cardio), it still gets my blood pumping. And Denise is really good about telling you what each exercise will help you achieve (i.e., toned upper back, flatter lower belly). Again, GREAT video!

Summary: A workout w/o having to buy more please
Review: I need to work out, maybe low impact to start with upper and lower body targeting sessions, but does every DVD require me to buy additional equipment?? Can someone out there recommend what I'm looking for in a DVD...I just want the DVD w/o having to buy more! Thanks (:
