Summary: An excellent collection!!!
Review: I'm addicted!!! I do one of the tapes in the collection every day. I had never tried yoga before getting these tapes. They are awesome tapes. Alan Finger's voice and accent are calming. Alan gives instruction, while other's perform the poses (asanas). It's helpful because one of the models does modified poses for those who are less flexible. Since I've gotten these tapes, I've borrowed others (done by other people) from friends and I must say my Yoga Zone tapes are still my favorite. The models seem so serene, no pasted on smiles. I can't say enough, I feel wonderful doing these tapes. My muscles get a workout, and my mind relaxes.

Summary: Great for Beginners !
Review: I've been interested in starting to do Yoga, but was a bit shy about taking a class. I was also concerned about the qualifications of an instructor in my area. I bought this set for myself, and I am SO pleased ! I've just started using the first tape, but already I can tell a difference in the tension and tightness in my body. I love it and can't wait to progress to the others. I love the gentle, soothing music and pace and Alan Finger's voice fits right in with that mood.

Summary: Best tapes I've tried
Review: I've wasted a lot of money on tapes that were too hard to follow with pretentious instructors that make yoga out to be something only "special" people can understand. I love the tapes with Alan Finger. I do not agree that his accent is hard to understand at all.I find his voice and manner very soothing without boring me, and I bore easily.I am 43 and spent the last 20 years at home raising kids. I find that I feel great after these workouts and my ability to concentrate is MUCH better. This is great for people like me who live in the wilds of Michigan where there are no instructors.

Summary: Excellent for those who are out of shape
Review: In my late 40s, I was terribly out-of-shape and had already taken two months of yoga classes. I realized I needed to do yoga more than once a week to improve my aching body so I asked for this DVD set for Christmas. I started with the Intro to Yoga and worked my way through, saving the meditation one until last. Each CD was very do-able and varied enough so that I didn't get bored. My favorite one is the Conditioning and Stress Release (teal cover). I didn't think I would benefit from it because I don't consider myself stressed, but it helps relieve muscle stress, too, which I suffer from because of long hours at the computer. It has really great neck/shoulder workouts. I'd definitely recommend this set, and I was happy to hear that my yoga teacher thought highly of it, too.

Summary: Don't buy this product
Review: One of the DVD's if defective and the distributor, Koch Entertainment is a pain to deal with about getting a replacement.

Summary: Perfect!
Review: The tape recommends that you watch the tape at least once before attempting to practice. I'm not the type to do that and fortunately for me, he describes the movements so well that I did not even need to watch. He has a excellent voice for instructing. For me, a bad or annoying speaking voice can ruin anything. Definitely not the case with this video. There are two female instructors demonstrating the postures as the tape goes on. One instructor demonstrates what to do if you are already flexible and the other demonstrates the technique for those who are less flexible and includes ways to minimize stress on tight hips. I do these before bed and afterwards feel as relaxed as if I've had a few drinks, but energized at the same time. The next day, I still feel great. For me the results (relaxation/energizing) were immediate and I have to talk myself out of doing the tapes too early in the evening, as they help me to sleep.

Summary: Nobody does it better!
Review: These are the best tapes you can purchase to get you going in yoga. Alan Finger is the best! His tapes are challenging and calming at the same time. He doesn't talk too much like some instructors do. The background sounds are pleasant and not distracting. My only complaint is that Alan Finger has not made more advanced tapes! Thanks to starting with his tapes, I can work out with other instructors. But, nobody ever compares to him!

Summary: Not very impressed
Review: These DVD's are for people who have never ever done any yoga. They are very simplistic and they are broken into too short of segments. A 20 minute session is just not enough. Also, the poses are so simplistic it is as though you are just stretching instead of doing yoga. I feel that these tapes are too easy even for the most novice of yogis. For a better more complete introduction to yoga one might want to try Crunch yoga DVDs.

Summary: A well rounded collection
Review: This is a great collection of videos. I had practiced yoga in college, but had not practiced in a few years. This set was a great way to get back into it. This is a well balanced collection. Alan Finger does a great job of emphasizing breathing and only doing as much as you can. Each tape is an hour long, so you are getting the most for your money. I highly recommend these videos for anyone wanting to try yoga.

Summary: Fabulous stress release for inflexible people
Review: This set is great. I am a person who cannot touch her toes. To say the least, I am yoga challenged. Yet the sereis allows me to do poses at my ability and still get a great stretch and stress release. As a young attorney with billable hours and a new traditional Arab husband, I have stress. These DVDs relax me and prepare me for whatever is coming my way - be it a motion due in court the next day or my culinary challenged husband asking what is for dinner when I get home at 8pm.
