Summary: Very entertaining for babies!
Review: This is another great video from the baby einstein collection. My 6 month old enjoys all the ones that I bought her so far. They are very simple and colorful. I plan on purchasing all of the baby einstein videos. Some of the things may seem a bit silly to adults, but look at it from a babys point of view. Since my baby gets excited when she watches it and she laughs then I have to say 2 thumbs up to this video.

Summary: Excellent entertainment
Review: Baby Shakespeare combines poetry with classical music, bright objects and toys to teach kids 12 words like; Dog, Cat, Cow, Grass, Moon, Flower, Tree, etc. There are dancing puppets and many toys in this one along with several poems. The word is shown on the screen followed by the object or animal then a short poem. It is very colorful and entertaining to watch and the music follows the actions of the objects perfectly. I really like the music in all the Baby Einstein films and this one is no exception. I believe the best DVD's are World and Neighborhood animals, but this one comes close.

Review: We LOVE this video! I had seen these before, but they looked so boring. Then I borrowed one (Baby Bach) from our library and my littlest one (10 months old at the time) was hooked! My older kids, 3 and 5 year olds, also enjoyed watching it. I was really amazed. My 3 year old daughter saw this one in the store and insisted we buy it. They all 3 love it, esp. spunky little Bard. My youngest will go in and out of the room during this one (it is more for preschoolers) but she makes sure to come back in when Bard is on-screen. I do not let my kids watch much TV, but the music is wonderful to hear and it is a healthy form of entertainment in my opinion. I wish I had had some of these when my older two were babies. Even so, they all recognize the music when they hear it in other contexts and they all will sit and watch this - with varying ages, that's not always easy!
My husband was amazed the first time he saw my baby watch it, completely mesmerized, when a few minutes earlier she had been screaming! I would recommend these to anyone, and am giving several as gifts this year!

Review: My son is 10 months old and is absolutely in love with this tape. The puppets, sound effects and lively music keep him entertained. I love the idea that they are teaching words, and using poetry to do so. Th only thing I could possibly say in a negative vein, is that Julie Clark's voice can become a little grating. (Think Ginger on Gilligan's Island.) That said , it is still well worth the price.

Summary: Yet another hit from Baby Einstein
Review: My son is now 9 months old, and has loved his Baby Einsten videos since he was about 2 months old. Baby Shakespeare is among his favorites now that he is a bit older. I like the fact that is is not just music, but also works on words. I have tried other videos such as Sesame Street, but they do not keep his interest the way the Baby Einstein series does. Love these videos....

Summary: Colicky baby LOVES this DVD because of the puppets!
Review: Our baby hit the wall of colic at 3 weeks and continued through 5 months screaming for more than 8 hours a day. At 4 months I found this DVD and Mozart and read the reviews here where people said their infants were mezmerized. I bought both. At the beginning she liked Mozart better. But by 5 months she preferred Shakespeare because of all the silly puppets and their noises. She Loves the Train poem, and the tiger in the grass and Bard when he plays in the colorful leaves. She will kick her arms and legs and squeal when she sees these 3 scenes. She is now 5.5 months and her head turns to the TV when she hears the opening music or Julie's voice. She cries now when she hears the ending music starting....

Summary: Doesn't measure up to Mozart, but still popular in our house
Review: It's tough to live up to the standard set by Baby Mozart, which many people acknowledge is the best video in this series, and I agree. I think one issue is that it seems that music and still or moving images go well together. That creates a natural rhythm to Baby Mozart. The "flow" of Baby Shakespeare (aimed at a slightly higher age range) is not as smooth, as I think it is challenging to mesh words and poetry with music. That said, Shakespeare is still very entertaining for both of our kids (2 years old and 8 months old). Some of the same techniques and similar props are used in each, but I think that redundancy is lost on the children. Our older child likes the puppets and real-world images. Our younger one seems to enjoy the props a little more. Educationally, Mozart definitely goes after the creative side of the brain while Shakespeare tries to stimulate intellect a little more. But frankly, a dozen words isn't gonna cut it, even for our 8 month old, who likely already knows dozens of words, even if she can't verbalize any of them yet. Same with the alphabet - my two-year old knows his alphabet cold and my 8 month old will need to hear more than the alphabet song in order to really grasp that concept. So, buy this video for the entertainment value, but I wouldn't consider it to be an effective educational tool.

Review: ...to test your child's response...I made the mistake of buying three titles at once...mainly based upon recommendations I read here...unfortunately, my daughters -- ages 2 and 4 -- apparently were so bored with each one that within 2 minutes of the start they got up and just left the room...they're attractive videos but if your child doesn't want to watch, so what?

Summary: A Great Way To Calm Baby
Review: I bought this video because my sister-in-law bought Baby Motzart for her son and it kept him occupied during trips. Once I started the video my daughter was hooked. I recomend that everyone gets one of these videos for their child, or as a gift!!!
