Summary: Disappointed with the quality of music
Review: I am very disappointed with the quality of the recording on this video. The selections of music is wonderful, it is some of Beethoven's best composing. However, the video does a great diservice to you the listener by not including recordings of real instruments. Computers and synthesizers are used to perform the music. The recording of the Ninth Symphony has to be one of the most unmusical renditions I've EVER heard.If you want to expose your child to quality music, buy actual recordings not this.

Summary: Fantastic for young babies!
Review: My son is now 5 months old. He had Baby Mozart first, he liked it when he was only 2 months old in his bouncy seat. I then received Baby Bach as a gift, he liked that one too. Then I bought Baby Beethoven, it was a total hit! He loves the puppets that dance with the music. The toys have a lot of action and the music is almost continuous. I think this one is the best of the classical series. I find myself and my husband mesmerized by it too. I love it! My son seems to get upset when it is over. I wish there were more in the series just as entertaining.

Summary: Stay-at-home Mom
Review: This is an excellent video! My 3 month old daughter absolutely loves the continuous music and multitude of toys. Her eyes glue to the screen whenever I turn it on. I was also given Baby Mozart and Baby Bach, but they don't keep her attention as much as this one. They often interrupt the Bach DVD with stagnant photos of toys instead of showing them in action, which is rather boring. =( If you want to spend money on any of the Baby Einstein collection, buy this one for your son or daughter.

Summary: Not as good as Baby Mozart or Baby Bach
Review: I have a 6 month old & my baby loves Baby Mozart and Baby Bach the best out of all the einstein videos. Some are better suited to toddlers, but in the infant category I'd have to say that Mozart and Bach are the best. Beethoven is good too but the value of listing the name etc of each concerto is lost on an infant or even a toddler (event the parent who it is probably really intended for). Her attention was much better kept with the other videos.

Review: I can't tell you how wonderful this product is! I have fussy 5 month old twin boys and nothing calms them other than the Baby Einstein videos. These videos will save your sanity if you have a fussy infant. You'll kick yourself that you did not invent this product when you see how simple the images are, but it works.

Summary: Classical Music 101
Review: This DVD is a wonderful introduction to classical music, and is complemented by Baby Mozart and Baby Bach. Like Baby Mozart, your baby can start listening to this in utero, and in their first and second years, the brightly coloured, moving toys will capture their interest. This series makes watching television an enjoyable learning experience for your child, and is a valuable teaching aid for parents too. It is unfortunately very short, so the repeat play feature is a necessity. It is targeted at 0-3 years, but in my opinion, it will only hold the interest up to 24 months. Overall, short but sweet.

Review: 1. the actual video content is only a few minutes
2. over half of the tape is commercials and sales promotions
3. i don't believe that this contributes more to development than anything else. of all the music in the world, it turns out that only the most banal and common are good for development?
4. even if you use the 'continuous play' option, the idiotic copyright notice and 'hello I'm Julie Clark' are repeated each time, provoking an endless 'wah' from baby.
5. at the end they say 'thanks for your support, baby einstein can make contributions to charitable organizations'. baloney. why do they need to add this lie? in general, i wouldn't recommend anything from the baby einstein line. we bought three at the recommendation of friends and have been very disappointed. the entire einstein line is very much lowest common denominator technology and bestseller mentality. i have found that the wiggles are a much better buy. my baby is engaged, and started clapping and dancing at a very early age to 'participate' in the program.

Summary: it's great
Review: We were given this DVD as a gift when our daughter was 3 months old. At the time, she was not interested, although my husband and I found it relaxing. However, when she turned 10 months old, we tried again. She loved it! She would lie on a pillow in front of the TV and drink her bottle, just mesmerized. We put it in repeat mode and she'll play happily with it on, looking over at the TV at her favorite parts, which she can recognize by the music. Unlike other reviewers, we have no sound difficulty with the DVD. WE also have it in repeat mode so the ads at the beginning are skipped. I think this is a great DVD for those kids under 2. It is a good introduction to music, kept simple for a child. The toys, puppets and other visuals go perfectly with the music. I do not like the idea of my child watching TV at such a young age, but this seems to be a good way to stimulate both the visual and audio portions of a baby's brain. Cartoons and other "teaching" videos are better for an older toddler. Also, as a parent of a 6 year old who watched other types of "educational" videos at the same age (Baby Einstein products were not available way back then!), I found myself strictly limiting her viewing of those other videos because I found them so annoying and obnoxious. These DVDs are easy on the adult ears!

Summary: Finally - the cure for fussiness!
Review: My daughter absolutely LOVES Baby Beethoven. She's been watching the Einstein series since she was about 8 - 10 weeks old. When she gets tired and fussy, I put her in her bouncer and turn on the Baby Beethoven DVD - she instantly stops fussing, relaxes (the arms and legs actually stop flailing around!), and is completely mesmerized by the toys and music. Although she likes The Book of Pooh and Rolie Polie Olie, neither of those have the same hypnotic effect on her! It's good to know that if she's watching TV, at least it is educational! Oh, and do yourself a HUGE favor and buy the DVD instead of the VHS. It has a Repeat Play option that when the show ends, it automatically starts at the beginning again (and it completely bypasses the advertisements at the beginning). We also have Baby Einstein: Language (I find this tape very annoying, so we don't watch it anymore), Baby Bach, Baby Mozart, Baby VanGogh and Baby Shakespeare on VHS, and she fusses like CRAZY when I have to rewind the tape, so we learned that DVD is the way to go! Hope your little one enjoys the Baby Einstein series as much as mine does!!!!

Review: My 2 month old will sit in her bouncy seat and watch and smile....its great....our morning routine is that she has her bottle, then I put her in her bouncy seat and put on the dvd so I can eat breakfast and clean...sometimes she even watches it twice!! and then sometimes we also do this so my husband and I can eat dinner :)
