Summary: We love it
Review: This is the second Baby Einstein video we've purchased ourselves and my kids (ages 6, twins 3 and infant 7 mos) absolutely love it. They love seeing the puppets and toys and the live video portions. I think the song that is sung is very enchanting and well done. I am looking forward to getting the other videos in the library.

Summary: Good, but not as good as Neighborhood Animals
Review: My son (almost 1) loves all the Baby Einstein videos, but this one has not yet completely captured his attention. I think they did a better job with the Neighborhood animals video - the music in this one is a little less engaging and the whole video has a slightly lethargic feel to it. Not quite up to the high standards they have set.

Summary: Teaching about animals
Review: My child loves the Baby Einstein series of videos. They captivate her. When this video arrived, I could not wait to see her reaction to the video. She loves it! Her attention is on the Baby Dolittle video when played in the VCR. I watched the video with her. This video is a wonderful way to introduce a child to animals and the spelling of the animals' names. It is also a way to introduce a child to an animal that he or she may never see on a regular basis if the parents do not own the animals. My compliments on an excellent video go to the Baby Einstein Company.

Summary: Babies Love It!
Review: I have both this video and Baby Einstein. At first I was skeptical of the thought of trying to entertain my baby with a video. But both of these are wonderful for engaging an infant with colorful and action-oriented video & music. Baby Dolittle is particularly fun for my 11 month old. She will sit enraptured through the entire video while I finish household chores, etc.! I highly recommend it for children approx 6-8 months and older. I can't speak for the others in her series.

Summary: Not up to usual standard
Review: By daughter (now 14 months) enjoys many of the Baby Einstein videos. She likes the companion to this one, "Neighborhood Animals" as well as others in the series (Mozart, Bach, Shakespeare and Van Gogh). By "likes" I mean that she will sit through the entire video and respond to the images by laughing, clapping etc. Not in this case. The video is divided into 3 sections; Animals in the Jungle (tiger, tropical bird, monkey); Animals in the Ocean (sea turtle, dolphin, fish); and Animals on the Savannah (elephant, giraffe, lion). The actual video clips of these animals are good to fair in quality. However, there are LONG intervals between these sections in which the puppetry seems amateurish (in comparison to the others in the series), the live action segments of children dressed up as animals are ridiculous, and the segments featuring toys simply dull and unimaginative. The music selections also seem haphazard, and the silly song that accompanies the "Ocean" segment is especially cloying. But the real judge is my daughter and instead of interacting with this video she rapidly loses interest. I understand that Baby Einstein is using a tried and true formula but that formula falls apart if the accompaning material is weak. It seems to me that this video was rushed in production and therefore suffers greatly in quality in contrast to the others in the series. I am very disappointed. I gave it 2 stars only because of the live animal footage. I would recommend the video by embryonics Video Soup "Mozart Nature Symphonies" if you have a child interested in animals, there are no puppets, toys or children, but it presents its video segments in an lively and intelligent manner.

Summary: JACK MOSS IS GREAT!
Review: My son is 16 months old and out of all of the Einstein videos we have (5 total) this is the only one he will watch. If we attempt to put in a different one he just goes to play with his toys or look at a book. His favorite part of this video are the birds and the Jack Moss song part of the DVD. I like that part too. He claps his hands and really enjoys the beat. I really like Jack Moss's music for kids and don't understand why other people would be so critical of it. It's for children - not for adults having cocktails in a piano lounge.

Review: My grandson, 15 mos old, loves this DVD. He watches it all the way through. I plan to buy more Baby Einstein DVDs for him.

Summary: Excellent!
Review: My 7 month old son got this for Christmas and he loves it! I pop it in for him and he watches, enthralled. I am going to add more of these to his collection.

Summary: Great Video
Review: This is the best Baby Einstein video we own. The music is great, the puppet shows are great, and the animal footage is great. I have a very, very active toddler. Her attention span is not that long, and when this video comes on, she won't take her eyes off the screen. We use it mostly on long car trips when she gets fussy. It keeps her very happy.

Summary: 8 month old not captivated . . .yet!
Review: My 8 month old son loves Baby Mozart and Baby Neptune and so does my 16 month old grandson (my son's nephew :>), but neither were captivated by this one. There seems to be too much stopping to announce what sequence is coming next - it loses them everytime. If they kept the music going it would help, that seems to be a big part of the babies' enjoyment and when they cut it off to say, "What animals are in the Savannah" and then open a little door to a still life picture of each animal the babies' attention is lost. A note of interest this DVD seems to be the same or really close to the newest Baby Einstein:
Baby Noah.
