Rating: Summary: Silly...but, effective! Review: I first used Once Upon a Potty for Her with my daughter nine years ago; she watched the video every day for about two weeks and then announced she wanted to use the potty. (She was trained in two days.) I have just started watching Once Upon a Potty for Him with my two year old son, I am seeing a similar response. He loves the video and now would like to start using the potty. While I know that with a boy the training will take longer, I believe that this video is an effective tool. It is fun and makes the potty less threatening.
Rating: Summary: Nice start to potty training Review: I ordered this video after I had already tried to get my son to sit on the potty. He was about 2 years old, and was exhibiting signs of readiness, but he was not interested in sitting on the potty. When the video arrived, I was pleasantly surprised to see the little boy's name in the video was Joshua (same as my son!) This helped tremendously! The song does have a tendency to stay in your head all day, so be careful singing out loud! The video was not the sole reason my son learned to use the potty, but it definitely contributed to his success. I would suggest using it along with other methods (books, if your child is interested, rewards, etc.) Good luck!
Rating: Summary: Rented it for my first son, buying it for the next 2 Review: I purchased this after hearing both positive and negative things about the video. The video itself is short. Yes, it tells the same story as in the book, but not much more. After the very short potty film their is a pretty useless montage of babies and the potty song. Afterwards, commentary for the parents. It is not useful for young children if you ask me. Once my kids got into the movie itself it was over and I had to rewind--but not too far because the movie itself is so short. The book is better. Some parents have had success with this video. I didn't, but it is short and to the point so some kids might get it.
Rating: Summary: Not Worth It Review: I purchased this after hearing both positive and negative things about the video. The video itself is short. Rating: Summary: It's not the best Review: I recommend Potty Time with Bear (Bear in the Big Blue House) more than this one, but this one is pleasant. My son (just barely 2) watched it and liked it. But I agree with the other reviewers that it is very short.
Rating: Summary: Great intro to the potty Review: I was given this video and the accompanying book because my son's name is also Joshua. Josh has been watching it since he was 6 months. Despite the negative reviews offered about this book by other visitors, this is an excellent tool for kids to learn by watching other kids "use" the potty. The Potty Song that plays in the background has been good reinforcement to get my now 20 month old Josh to stay on the potty after he's sat down. He "sings" the song and waits for something to happen in the potty. For parents who are adverse to the words used in the video for elimination, there's a specialist at the end of the tape that dicusses using your own words for "wee wee" and "poo poo." I love the tape and the book, and am glad to have them!
Rating: Summary: Very good for the younger set! Review: I'm so happy there are potty training videos. This video really helps to reinforce the whole potty training scene. It explains everything to the kids in a fun format. My two year old loves it.
Rating: Summary: it's a party...with potty time Review: my 2 1/2 year old son loved this video. the babies in the "potty song" portion, totally captivated him. he sang the song all over the place and when the tape broke...he cried. the parent portion is helpful but really boring and the tape is way too short. i had to rewind it several times...until it finally died. education wise i'd rate it a "3", but it's entertainment value earned it "5" stars !

Rating: Summary: Great Intro to Potty training Review: My 2 year old LOVES this video. All day he asks to watch baby (which is what he calls it.)After watching this video twice he started saying poop.It is too the point not too many details that distract kids from the basics of going on the potty. The song is cute and catchy, altough beware my husband caught me singing it in the shower, it tends to stick in your head. The only thing I didn't like was the video said wee wee instead of pee pee but a minor flaw in an cute video.
