Summary: Best Sign Language Video!
Review: This is TRULY the best sign language video and also volumes 2 and 3 which I had to buy direct from [web site].com because I couldn't find them on Amazon.[com]. My daughter is 19 months old (and can hear) and she has a larger vocabulary than other kids her age. She knew all the signs on the first tape after watching it a couple of times. My relatives can't get over the fact that she actually communicates with them using the sings. They are amazed! She loves the kids on the video doing the signs and she absolutely LOVES THE MUSIC. The songs are great! She can't keep her hands still during the intro song. She can ask me for help, tell me when she is hurt, say she is sorry, ask me for milk, water, juice, apples, bananas, cookies, etc. It is truly amazing! She no longer has temper tantrums, she just tells me exactly what she wants! Having Rachel on the videos showing how to do the signs properly is great for us adults and the videos are not boring like some other sign language videos. I originally bought my daughter a few sign language videos to start out with but we got rid of the others as these videos from Signing Time are the only ones for us. I really recommend them for other children. It is a great way to watch TV and actually learn something! Can't wait for more videos to come out! Thank you Rachel, Alex and Leah!

Summary: Great for helping children acquire language early!
Review: It's no secret that signed language helps with the later of acquisition of spoken and written English, and this video series helps reinforce this activity. It's fun, the instruction is simple-our children are glued to it when the songs come on-and the results are children who can and will communicate instead of scream or incessantly point at things. The assertion that "signed language will stunt my child's ability to learn English" is nothing but hogwash; we began teaching our children at birth and our eldest daughter began communicating "milk" and "daddy" by six months of age. Consequently, she is not only reading above grade level but can also communicate with Deaf children and adults who use fluent American Sign Language.

Signing Time is a helpful addition to your library for both Deaf and non-Deaf children alike. Be sure to get all three of the discs/tapes.

Summary: A MUST FOR EVERYONE!
Review: I ordered this video from www.signingtime.com and after only one viewing both of my daughters knew every sign on it! They watch it every night and really have fun using the signs throughout the day. My daughters are both hearing but have speech impairments, this video has not only encouraged a second language but has helped build their self esteem knowing they can communicate with others that are deaf.

I feel that Rachel, Leah and Alex are fantastic! By reinforcing the signs taught by visual display they have captivated an audience of children and adults! Everyone can learn to sign with this unique series! The music is phenomenal and I am looking forward to the new video's VOL 2 and Vol 3 just released along with the music cd.

Summary: Great Video!
Review: This video is truly a god send! I am the mother of a hyperactive two-year old. I have had many disciplining issues in the past 6-months with him, until I got "Signing Time". "Signing Time" is not only the first video that my child will sit through, but I love to watch it as well! Even though Ethan can hear, I decided to buy this video a month ago because I have heard of the other benefits of signing with your child. What an "amazing" difference in just one month. Not only is his sign vocabulary increasing, but his verbal skills as well. It is so much nicer to see the sign for "eat" or "more", than to hear screaming. He asks to watch it about 4 times a day! And I love that I am teaching him something while he is watching t.v. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! Please make more soon!!!

Summary: Amazingly Interesting!
Review: Signing Time is a great video for anyone wanting to show their children how easy learning to sign can be! I am a presenter/Teacher for hearing parents of hearing children, using Joseph Garcia's Sigh with your Baby program in my classes and workshops. This video is one that I show my parents as an additional video to purchase. The signs are very clear which makes it easy to understand and it appeals to not only children, but to the adults that will watch it with their children. The music is great and will hold your child's attention through the entire tape! This is a MUST HAVE tape for your children!

Summary: my 21 month olds ask to watch this one
Review: I would have given this a 5 star review but there just wasn't enough signs! When I ask my 21 month old what video she wants to watch she pulls this out. I taught her sign when she was 6 months old. When she started speaking around 11 months she quite signing. She has a play mate who signs and started signing again so I though we would pick it back up. After only watching the video twice she is signing all of the signs in the video. There just isn't enough. The best signing video we have seen. It doesn't go to quickly that she can't get it and it gives her enough time to sign with it. And most importantly she really enjoys it. Maybe because she sees other kids signing or that there is a visual relation to the sign. What ever it is we are enjoying it together. And it is braking down the language barrier. Now that she is talking I don't always know what she is saying and that is just as frustrating to her as not talking.

Summary: A wonderful video
Review: My 2 1/2 year old daughter and I love this video. I got this one after "Talking Hands" and am glad I did. It's got these cute little kids acting out and saying the different signs. It has lots of everyday words and several more than "Talking Hands" so her signing vocabulary is in turn growing (mine too).

I wish they would make another with some more words and maybe some phrases.

Summary: Great introduction
Review: This is a fun video. I'm teaching my day care sign language. I have four children under two years old. All the kids love watching this one. They are using sign language more and more since using this tape. Since learning sign their speaking vocabulary has grown.

It gives the basic beginning signs...

Summary: Fabulously simple and delightful
Review: My two year old son, who is not deaf, loves to watch this video for fun, and is already making a few signs after only a few days with the video. Given his hyperactivity, and short attention span, I'm very impressed.
I also really like how upbeat and excited the video is about sign language -- it celebrates the beauty and fun of American Sign Language in a pleasing and simple format, instead of overwhelming your tike with a bunch of things to memorize.
