Summary: Wretched movie, cute girl.
Review: One of those wretched wastes of film that portray an unrealistic story based *very* loosely on a classic. They might as well have thrown Kevin Costner in there to add insult to injury. This movie took so many liberties that it made the story generic and unappealing to me. It was so weak and watered down that it wouldn't have made much difference if Arthur was played by Sean PENN instead of Sean Connery! Buy "Excalibur" instead.

Summary: A miserable, mis-spent two hours of my life
Review: Notes from the pre-production team of FIRST KNIGHT:

"Re: The medieval and modern literary texts of the legend of King Arthur

"Frank, thanks for sending me all these books about King Arthur, but I really can't use them. I'm too busy trying to cast Richard gere, and I really can't be bothered to read them. Besides, some of them aren't even in, like, real English! It's all old and stuff.

"I've got the script all done. You'll really like it, I think. I lifted it from a cheesy romance novel I read once, but that's okay, I don't think anyone'll notice. It's a lot more interesting than these old timeless literary texts.

"P.S.: Who's this Thomas Malory guy, anyway? I've never seen him on the bestsellers list ... "

sigh!

Summary: ''FIRST KNIGHT'' ISN'T.
Review: Quite overblown. Connery is ok. Ormand:a liberated 20th century Guinevere? Doesn't work. And Richard Gere: the Lancelot from Larchmont! His accent just ruins this character. And the sets: Camelot overgrown and overblown. I laughed and cried equally through this motion picture travesty. Get "Excalibur". It's a masterpiece.

Summary: Another Great British film!!!
Review: For me, this film has it all. A great love triangle portrayed by a group of some of the best actors in the world.

Casting Connery for the part as the great King Arthur was not a mistake, like a fine wine, he does get better with age.(but then I am his biggest fan!)

Richard Gere's performance is also great, who would have thought he could handle a sword like that!!

Julia Ormond might not have been my first choice for her role as the Lady of Leonese, but nevertheless, she pulls it off.

Ben Cross's performance is also a great one, I can't think of a better actor to play Maligant, he was truely an excellent choice.

Quite simply, this film is Excellent!! If I could change it, I don't think I would!!

"Camelot Lives!!"

Summary: This is a wonderful version of the story of Lancelot.
Review: This has to be one of my favorite movies of all time. It has something for both men and women. For men it has adventure and sword fighting, for women of course it has romance. It is funny and extremely entertaining.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Sean Connery, the BEST
Review: Come on! Julia Ormond shouldn't be chosen as the Queen. All she has is just the face of an English lady, but her acting skill is way off compared to these two other famous stars. Sean Connery, I have to say this: You're the best actor I've ever seen before. He really got it out when he saw the scene of Lancelot and Guinevere kissed.

But I have to say that Julia didn't have a lot of facial expressions in this movie. All she does is weep. She got her face wet first when Lancelot saved her from Malagant. She wept when she kissed Lancelot. She wept again when she tried to explain herself to Arthur. She wept again when she saw Arthur died. This is all she does in this movie. Don't you think so?

Nevertheless, watch this. It's time-worthy.

Summary: Great updated swashbuckling from Gere
Review: Let's be honest--this is not the Arthurian legend; it's Hollywood Mass Market. You can't put it in the same league as "Excalibur." There is no such character as "Malagant." The main reason to see this film is for Richard Gere's athletic sword fighting technique, which combines baseball, kendo and several other Asian techniques. Jerry Zucker must have sat down and said, "I don't want the standard sword fighting scenes that we've seen a hundred times before. Let's show the audience something new." And Gere with his natural athletic ability delivers. The anachronist elements are intentional, people. That's what's fun about this popcorn flick.

Summary: The Best Movie, The Best Story Line, The Best Actor
Review: When I first saw that movie i nearly killed my self with the beautiful story line and Sean Connery(almost got me killed by his acting skill and stylish looks)are on his best form.Playing a king with his lovely queen,Guinevere, and his lion-hearted knight(Gere),I pity those who miss this awesome movie!
