Summary: WHERE IN THE WORLD IS KIM RICHARDS?
Review: I must have seen this movie over fifty times since I was a kid. From the first time I watched Tuff Turf it was my favorite movie. I used to think that Kim Richards was the hottest woman I ever seen, but then again I was only a kid right? Wrong!!! I really haven't watched this movie in a while, mostly because my vhs copy was badly worn out, but since I got the dvd I have watched it a couple times. Kim is still as beautiful to me as she was when I was 15 years younger. She is definatly the perfect woman, I just wish I could see what she looks like now-a-days. I know, I'm rambling. I really don't have much to say about the movie or how great it is because the other reviewers all ready did that. Just a quick priase to James Spader and Robert Downey, they both were excellent in the film along with the rest of the cast. If anybody has seen Kim Richards in anything lately, please write a little note in a review here, and bee-bop, keep your eyes open for that rain from heaven.

Review: I own this video and have watched it several times since my parents bought it for me in 1987. It was my favorite then and is definately on my top ten list now. Lots of action as well as humour and if you went to school in the 80s this movie will bring back a lot of memories. Great movie! A steal at $9.99

Summary: Hindsight is 20/20, People!
Review: I used to love this movie back in the 80's when I was younger and easier to please. Ooh, James Spader was so cu-ute, so I overlooked the obvious until time made me all too aware of my transgressions. Now, I'm not Catholic, but I think you get put into purgatory for liking movies like this no matter what your background is. I'm being as honest in all my reviews as I possibly can, so let me tell you what changed my mind. Here's my list of 8 simple reasons for avoiding this movie:
1. Most of us are 20 years older now. Go watch the Joy Luck Club.
2. Why is it that Nick listens to Frankie when she tells him to lay off, or else, when he tries to start something with her, yet later he's beating her to a pulp?
3. Awful love scene between James Spader and Kim Richards. Yes, she has pretty long hair. Too bad she has no lips and no chest. She looks like she did when she played Prudence in Nanny and the Professor, only taller!
4. Everybody in my high school danced like a cast member of Fame too. Yeah, right.
5. Bad music soundtrack. Jim Carroll and Jack Mack and the Heart Attack?
6. Jim Carroll, the actor.
7. The unbelievable plot.
8. The most unforgivable and insulting point: stupid dialogue! "I'm not tolerating any of your rooftop rock concerts" is uttered to James Spader's character by the high school principal. What is a "rooftop rock concert?" Oh, yeah, something cool sounding to say that's really not.
In another part of the movie, Spader's character asks Robert Downey Jr.'s character why he didn't join a gang like his older brother. Out of Downey's mouth comes, "My mom wouldn't let me." Even when I liked this movie it always made me laugh. Since when do you ask your mommy for permission to join a gang? I must admit, if it was on TV at some point, I'm not so sure I wouldn't watch it. Everyone loves a train wreck and this movie chugs nonstop toward its impending doom with amazing velocity. Jack Mack and the Heart Attack singing "T-U-F-F, You're So Tuff" after Frankie just had the crap beaten out of her by Nick is pretty sad. Oh, well, the film's not a total loss. It reminds you of how stupid we all used to look so you avoid repeating the same offense and...well, Kim Richards could dance. One thing is definitely for sure; there's a reason James Spader never became a "singer."

Review: It's a great 80's film about a new guy in town and his trials between a gang and the gang leader's girlfriend. It's a great movie to watch if you love to see a guy fight for a girl. I personally love watching movies of this nature.

Review: My mom had this movie in the back of the movie cabinet for about 10 years she probabally forgot about it. So the other night I was wondering what it was about so I pulled it out and watched Tuff Turf. Tuff Truf emedentlly became my new favorite movie. With James Spader and Kim Richards this movie is now my all time favorites. Action and drama this movie is the best I have seen in a long time. Elizabeth

Summary: Dreadful
Review: The only great thing about this movie is that there is so much to be made fun of. The storyline is rehashed, cliched, corny and contrived, not to mention about as believable as a Scooby Doo cartoon plot line. Me and some friends of mine had even more fun with one of our pals who embraced this flick as a piece of great cinema. Let's face it. Spader would have been dead within the first half hour of this flick if there was any realism to it. The only thing missing from the fight scenes is the "Biff! Splat," and "Whammo!" exclamations that used to accompany those of the old Batman TV series. And the dance scenes remind me of a scene in "Not Another Teen Movie," where one observer in viewing the dancing going on their high school prom says, "Isn't funny how our school is full of professional dancers?", or something to that effect. I have to admit, I did watch it more than once. One, it came out in my earliest years of having cable when it was one of those movies that was on a thousand times, and two, it fits into the "so bad you can't resist watching it" category. Well, and three, Kim Richards is a doll and worth watching, which is why I gave it one star. Other than that, the only reason I'd reccomend buying it is for a good laugh at a party where everyone is buzzed off their socks, or to make a colorful coaster for your beverages. This movie just plumb stinks!

Summary: An Extraordinary Teen Genre Film.
Review: This film has remained a favorite of mine since the first time I saw it on the big screen. James Spader has also remained possibly my favorite actor of all time since I fell for his incredible face after seeing IT for the first time here as well. ................ James Spader plays Morgan Hiller, the cute(!!!!) new guy at a highschool in a seedy part of Los Angeles. Immediately Morgan incenses the town gang by ruining a heist they're pulling by going by on his bicycle and spray-painting Paul Mones who plays the gang leader. His girlfriend played by child actress almost grown-up Kim Fields, is secretly amused by Morgan's nerve. Never one to back off, Morgan sees what he wants, and goes for the girl. The result is a dangerous "Turf" war between the Spader and Mones characters that lead to an eventual showdown over Fields. ................. Robert Downey Jr. plays a great role here as well as Spaders' loyal new pal in town. He sticks with his buddy Morgan until the bitter end. ............... There is great atmosphere and pacing in this film. It truly has no dull moments. The leads are well cast, and VERY easy on the eyes. The story makes you really care about the characters, a sure sign of quality filmakng in my book. Spader as Morgan Hiller is particularly excellent here. After seeing this in the theatre, I knew he would become a star. A funny note, Spaders tattoo of a Spade on his upper arm is seen here in a locker room scene. It is also seen in the great Rowdy Herrington classic "Jack's Back." It is NOT seen however in "White Palace" or "Dream Lover" despite the nude scenes in both. Was it removed, or covered? I don't know about that, but I DO know that "Tuff Turf" remains as fresh a teen angst love story now, as it was nearly 20 years ago. For any James Spader or Robert Downey Jr. fan, this is a must see film.

Review: This is an excellent movie and I recommended it because it is the only know time you're going to see Kim Richards' breasts. I personally have a friend who was part of the production company and the "breast" scene was shot both by Kim and a body double. She made the decision at the very end not to use the double, so those are her breasts you're are looking at. Keep in mind that it's the only revealing scene she has - and is very brief. The dance sequence she does is excellent and was included as part of an MTV video. Tuff Turf aired on cable many many years ago and is a must own for any Kim Richards fan.
