Summary: we need a little fluff sometimes
Review: I enjoyed this movie, because it was nice to view some movie fluff for a change. Also seeing mature characters enjoying seduction and romance made this movie very enjoyable. Another twenty something female teamed with an over forty something male would have been would have been too predictable and boring. The psychological undertone which ran through out the movie, was the issue of trust. One of my favorite lines is when Renee Russo's character states that her lack of committed relationships is due to men making women "too messy". An interesting response to sum up feelings of trust in twenty five words or less.

Summary: So HOT you'll need a cold shower to cool down!
Review: Steamy, sexy, erotic, intriguing - Thomas Crown Affair is one of the best movies available! Forget James Bond, Pierce Brosnan shines as the ultra-rich jewel thief who loses his heart (or does he - you have to wait until the end) to the tantalizing art-bounty-hunter, Renee Russo. Wow, talk about HOT - the love scenes (on the steps!) are quite erotic and the entire plot weaves mysterious web of cat-and-mouse. This is a wonderful film that shouldn't be missed!

Summary: STEAMY CHASE THRILLER IS BRILLIANT
Review: Pierce Brosnan and Rene Russo create an amazing chemistry as they slowly fall in love. Compared to the similarly themed Entrapment this is a masterpiece. The initial painting heist is just superb and the later 'action' scenes will have you admiring this great film. Romance, action, drama and suspence this film has it all. Even better than the original.

Summary: Very entertaining, witty movie
Review: An excellent turn from all involved, with a superb script, varying levels of uncertainty, and written from a refreshing perspective. Makes other guy-gal movies seem obvious and cloddish. A real romp. I'm a new fan of Russo's eyes, lips, and cheekbones!

Summary: Mow the lawn instead...this will bore you to certain death
Review: Ok, you have Rene Russo who is this sort of super human insurance detective who is able to solve any case within minutes (without any evidence she targets Thomas Crown as her first and only suspect). The movie turned boring right after a masterpiece was stolen from a museum, about 15 minutes into the film. Everything from there on was amazingly predictable. Oh, and be sure to take notes or whatever it takes to keep up with the plot. Apparently I was not paying attention for a second and hence didn't quite get the ending... but then again, I didn't really care

Summary: Wait until public TV
Review: If you will wait for a couple of years, nothing will be lost. In this movie, there is no point, no storyline and as happy ending you can see a mile away. 40 minutes through the movie, I knew what the ending was. My girlfriend, apparently was not exactly interested since she was quietly sleeping 30 minutes through. Marketing people really do deserve higher pay for doing such a good job in making sure that we all get to watch it.

Summary: SHAME-SHAME
Review: Really good movie! Not an action film as advertised but does manage to keep the audience in suspense. The story is about an extremely wealthy man (Pierce Bronson) who has done it all and is in constant search of something new and exciting to do; which ultimately leads him into becoming an art thief. This course of action gets him involved in a game of cat and mouse with a woman(Rene Russo) who works for the insurance agency that's trying to find the art culprit.......The highlight of the movie is Dennis Leary. He plays a cop who is working along with the insurance agency. SHAME-SHAME however on Rene Russo, her character is very annoying and seems to be in the way in certain scenes. In addition, she has several topless scenes in the movie and quite frankly the scenes take away from the film because we as the audience get to see how old and out of shape she really is and are left wondering why the wealthy Bronson would find her more attractive then the other women in the film. Bronson himself, of course, puts in a wonderful performance. It's very easy to believe that he's a wealthy man. So all in all this movie is worth seeing.

Summary: To Steal or Not To Steal - Turn of A Century
Review: The 1999 "high-tech" remake of The Thomas Crown affair is charged with unexpected and delectable bends and twists.. It definitely is entertaining and worth adding to your DVD or VHS collection. Pierce Brosnan shows us he can, actually, perform much better than in any of the three James Bond he did so far, but it is Renne Russo who steals the show ! Despite being a much different person in real life (which reminds us of Anne Parillaud in La Femme Nikita), she really lives her character. The story is captivating and John McTiernan, known for his strong action movies (Die Hard, The Hunt for Red October), does a good job directing it. Casting Faye Dunaway as Crown's therapist, and making repeated use of Michel Legrand's Oscar winning wonderful musical score Windmills of My Mind, of course, reminds us of the 1968 original "affair", and there is no way but to admit that Steve McQueen's performance is superior there, the chemistry between the two is much more intense, and there is more craft and subtlety in director's Norman Jewison's unfolding and revealing it to us. Watch and enjoy both "affairs": ! (rating - 1999: 7.0/10; 1968: 8.5/10).

Summary: AN AFFAIR TO REMEMBER
Review: When apporaching THE THOMAS CROWN AFFAIR you should know that you're watching a remake (and then again, you're not)and that you should just relax and enjoy the ride. Done with style, class, and lots of soft focus and a excellent music score (the intro piano work just fits so well with the mood of this film), CROWN delights, thrills and entertains all at the same time. It wears it heart on it's sleeve and holds it's wallet in it's hand... because this movie is also about money. People who have money, spend money, make money, and throw away money... all in the name of the ultimate corporate merger... it's funny. It's well directed and solid performacnes abound all around. Worth picking up (as well as the original). As for the DVD, it does not pack a lot of extra's. The interface is set inside the museum viewing room where the pictures on the wall are stills and scenes from the film (nice - well done). It contains two previews (the remake and the original), as well as director John McTiernan's narration on the making of this movie... which I have to say is a major disappointment. McTerinan seems to have been forced to do the commentary, and his voice has an eerie Orson Wells tone to it - it reminded me often of when Wells did those fish stick commericals... scary. On a fiddle factor from one to ten CROWN gets a two... there is nothing really to play with here. Worth renting, also worth owning.
