Review: Totally mesmerizing indulgence into `70s world of rather sad people--lacking talent in everything except their sex organs--becoming porno stars. But the director never condescends or judges: those fornicating folks have feelings like anyone else, trying to make a living, coping as well as they can with life's ups and downs (ahem). Reynolds' performance and character here are similar to and as fine as Ben Gazzara's in a different type of film: Saint Jack.

Review: This is the kind of movie that you watch, have to take a break from and watch again in a week. Questions come up that you must answer by watching the movie again.

I thought is was interesting. Based loosely on the life of Porn Star John Holmes it kinda makes you wonder how many more of the stars lived like the movies characters (did a few of them or all of them).

There was more than porn though. You actually don't get to see any good "action" scenes if you're into that kinda thing (what? me? noooo!). Most of the movie is based on the individual and the path an individuals life can take from the bottom, to the top, and then crashing back down to the bottom.

If you pay attention you can definately learn something from the movie. The acting was great by everyone. The Bandit himself (Burt Reynolds) was amazing. Mark Walberg rocked on so many levels. This is no doubt his best movie ever as well as his most complex role. He should've won something for this..

Review: This movie, which is partially based on the life and times of John Holmes is a startling and provocative look at the adult film industry in the late 70's and early 80's. OUTSTANDING performances throughout from Moore, Reynolds, Wahlberg, incredible characters they do.

If youre looking for a stunning, revealing, and dramatic look at the adult film industry, go pick it up. Its outstanding.
