Summary: Great Movie! Well deserved Oscars!
Review: This movie is very good. The actors are good, especially Minnie Driver and Robin Williams. The screenplay by Matt Damon and Ben Affleck is very good and they certainly deserved their Oscars. The movie describes in a good way how Will Hunting (Damon) tries to find out what's most important, his friends, his girlfriend Skylar (Driver) or a great career. And in the back of his mind lies the memories of being beaten by numerous foster fathers. The therapist Sean (Williams), who has a similar background, manages to reach out to him and their one hour conversations turn out to be a very valuable experience to both of them.

The movie is great and all the actors are good, it's great to see Robin Williams is a more serious role again. He's made some great roles before but also many odd ones in not so very good movies. He is a very skillful actor and I think he really deserves his Oscar for this one.

Summary: Elliott Smith
Review: The only reason I bought this movie was for the Elliott Smith video. Elliott Smith is one of the greatest musicians around, but he is overlooked very much. His music fit in with this movie perfectly, and I think everybody should give Elliott Smith the credit he deserves.

Summary: My Favorite Movie¿¿
Review: I love this film because Will (Matt Damon) really opens his heart to Sean (Robin Williams). He can't forget his past but with Sean's help he can get over it. Ben Affleck plays Will's best friend Chuckie. He is a completely different type from Will, but he thinks that Will's talent is very important. Minnie Driver plays a Skylar. She loves Will's inner self more than his looks and she finally helps Will to find ultimate fulfillment. Very Romantic!

Summary: 213 and counting . . .
Review: As of this writing, this site shows 213 reviews. After seeing Matt Damon in a couple of movies including "... Ripley", I had to see this one which he co-wrote with his buddy Ben Affleck. Honestly, I don't think much of Robin Williams as an actor. He's a great crack(ed) up comic, but his so-called straight acting really is bad. Somehow the director and/or tranquilizers kept him from going off the deep end. Ben is a good actor, but Matt is outstanding and I think it rather ironic that Williams' character is telling the kid what life all about when in reality the kid wrote the words he speaks -- at least some of them. I have yet to listen to the commentary by the director, Damon and Affleck, and hopefully will learn something about the writers' collaboration. Couldn't help but smile at one reviewer's comments about Boston -- so true. I'm from the close suburbs which amounts to pretty much the same thing. The young guys' accents and behavior were dead-on and didn't sound phoney to me. And, of course, no story about the Boston Irish would be complete without at least one dig at Italians -- in this case, "guineas" -- Growing up in that area, I experienced many a "wop" joke from my Irish-American "friends". And please tell me how anyone could compare Williams' so-called acting with that of Stellan Skarsgard, the witty professor! I think Matt Damon is genious in his own way.

Summary: Genius Ghetto Brat Gets "Discovered", Civilizes -- So What?
Review: The story here is simple: A neglected 20 something ghetto kid anonymously solves the "unsolvable" calculus problem at the university campus where he works as a janitor, then is hounded by intellectual scholars who want to furhter this untapped genius mind. One problem: The kid is a little excentric, bordering on the severely disturbed, and only one "shrink" is getting thru to him. Add a little love story and a happy ending an you've got "Good Will Hunting". One of the 3 stars I give this one is for a delicious scene, where the hero cuts down a "bully" in the student cafeteria by going brain-explosion-verbally-ballistic on him! Not even Julia Sugarbaker could touch that one! Otherwise I was not nearly as impressed as cinema audiences and the Oscars Academy were. Once is enough for this one!

Summary: Good Golly Miss Mollie.
Review: I always thought I knew what the F-word meant until I saw this movie. It now has the meaning of a truly wasted 3 hours, maybe even more since I had to drive there and back. Both actors and writers have a great deal of talent, it was just wasted on the F-word movie.

Summary: It's a Boston thing!
Review: All of you people need to live ina Boston neighborhood for a while and you will realize why the script was written as it was. With the exception of Williams, the accents and the bad language were very accurate. Sorry, but I was born and raised in Boston and thats reality in the Blue collar Irish Catholic areas(Southie is not the only one either!). And that guy talking about the lack of blacks in the movie is clueless. That's the way Boston is, its a very segregated city, you didn't see many blacks? Hello, the movies about Southie! If it was about Roxbury, you wouldn't see many whites! It was a bit to Hollywood and polished, not as gritty and real "Boston" as "Monument Ave." or the movie "Southie" but it is far deeper and better acted than those movies. Anyway, its a quality film so give it a chance and if you've never hung out on the corner in Boston then don't be so quick to judge the swearing and the behavior cuz it IS realistic, believe it or not. Casey Affleck is hands down the most accurate portrail of a kid from the neighborhood right down to his outfit and scally cap. See this movie- The Rozzie Rat

Summary: good plot, average execution
Review: Good Will Hunting. Let's see. The good first. This is the movie that stars of Damon and Affleck, paving the way for them to make better movies like Dogma. This is the movie that finally gave Robin Williams a well-deserved Oscar. This movie also introduced American audiences to the beautiful and talented Minnie Driver. Now for the bad. This movie paved the way for Affleck to make Armaggedon and Forces of Nature. Williams gave a boring performance in the movie (watch his small role in Dead Again with Kenneth Brannagh, it's the best of his career, plus his Oscar should have been for What Dreams May Come.) Also, Driver appears to have dropped off the radar after this movie.

Ok, the plot of a genius janitor at one of the most prestigious universities in America but who doesn't truly have the ambition is most definitely unique. However, the movie is too long, too boring and too profane. I can watch almost anything without being bothered by the mere f-word and this movie was too much even for me. All this movie is is Damon getting mad at people for pushing his intellect, Damon and Affleck fighting everyone they run into, and Damon and Driver fighting before they realize they're in love. Boring. If you want to be entertained, watch As Good As It Gets which came out at the same time as Hunting and features stellar perfromances from Helen Hunt, Jack Nicholson, and Greg Kinnear.
