Summary: blarrggh
Review: sadistic and mawkish tripe in which williams' fulsome brow crease travels through heaven and hell to realize saccharine prophecy involving breathless, noisome cuba gooding and max von sydow's stern glare. torpid fun for the whole family.

Summary: Intriguing story
Review: I personally was not that taken by the cinematography as others were. It was actually the story that grabbed my attention. This is somewhat surprising because I don't consider myself religious in the least. But ultimately I found this story to be more about self-realization and improvement based on the realization and that is something that engages me. I found the performances extremely well done and the dialogue still seems fresh upon every viewing.

Summary: PHENOMENAL
Review: This is a must see if you fit into certain catagories. Not for men that hate "mush" movies..although if trying to set a romantic mood...an excellent choice. If you are into art and effects, a Robin Williams fan (although be warned it is not a comedy), a romance fan, or in the mood for something that will make you appreciate the things you have and the importance of family: this movie is a Must See. I have a tape collection of over 1,000 movies and have seen more than that and I can honestly say this is the BEST LOVE STORY I HAVE EVER SEEN. The movie is full of excellent picturesque scenery and a very heart pulling plot. Definitely bring the tissues...even my husband cried...and he doesn't do that. The movie has extremely romantic tones...everything has a rich feel to it. Robin Williams does an amazing job of playing it straight and not overdoing it...definitely a credit to his acting capability. Give this film a chance...I promise you won't be dissapointed.

Review: This is movie is more than touching. It makes you think of what heaven and hell REALLY is like and what will happen to you when you die. I never got up watching this movie. Oh, and be sure to include some tissues with this as well. It's a MAJOR tearjerker! You've GOT to see it!

Summary: interesting
Review: Well it is evident that there is only 2 ways you can go on this movie. either you will love it or hate it. simply reading the reviews will tell you that. but every body is diffrent so i say rent it you will never know if you will like it or hate it untill you try. but i loved it, i, who am a christian, dont agree with the way they protray heaven and hell, but that is a personal opinion. as far as the visuial effects, they were stunning. the acting was good, Williams and Gooding are great together. so rent it and see what you think.

Summary: What Dreams may come, simply the best
Review: I love this movie. Everyone should see this movie, they should just have to, they should make it a graduation requirement or something, because this is one of the most touching and moving movies I have ever seen. The story of true love that not even hell's fire, literally, can stop, is inspiring. The acting is amazing, true, and superb. The amazing visual effects are breathtaking. You just could not ask for a better movie. It's Robin Williams at his best. I have never cried so hard, but in the end, it's happy. It's everything all rolled into one. It is THE BEST movie I have ever seen.

Summary: Out of pity, I award this movie a star
Review: Ugh, another example of Hollywood's ineptitude at capturing the soul of a beautiful story...

Even if not compared to the book this movie is supposed to be based on (by the way, the movie seems only to have borrowed the title and names of the characters from the book, nothing else), this film lacks ANY oomph. Once again, Hollywood compensates for a poor story line by over doing the special effects. The characters remain two-dimensional throughought the film...the only thing mezmerizing about it is the fact that Williams was able to stay awake to play his role.

Contrived, shallow and thoroughly disappointing, whether you compare it to the novel or not.

Summary: An awesome visual experience... and then some!
Review: Robin Williams has proven himself to be not only a great comic, but one of the finest actors in Hollywood. This is one of his finest efforts. Williams plays a doctor who is fatally injured in an accident when he stops to help another victim. He had already lost his two children in a car wreck four years previously, and the stress is too much for his widow to bear. She commits suicide, but since she ended her own life, she is sent to Hell. Chris (Williams) is determined to go there to find her and bring her to Heaven. Does he succeed? Watch the movie to find out. The colors on the DVD are exceptionally vivid and clean. Picture quality is superb, and the Dolby Digital surround sound is very effective. All in all, a fine disc to show off your DVD player and surround sound system. But keep some kleenex handy; this one even made this grown man cry!
