Summary: .
Review: A very unique, stylish, and admirable debut. It is *very* Gallo-centric though, and I think that a clever feminist could have a field day ripping this film apart. I could understand why, too. To call this film "philosophical genius" is a stretch, to say the very least; if you stripped it of a few of its better idiosyncracies, it could be easily dismissed as the cinematic equivalent of a Nine Inch Nails song, but with a happy ending. However, I only say these things because I question some of the ultra-glorification I've seen lavished on it. I think it's fairly self-centered and self-serving as a piece of art. BUT, these are more observations than anything else; I thought that the movie had a lot of things going for it. Original, strange, and even emotive at times (though in an abstract way, for me personally), not to mention an incredibly entertaining cameo from Mickey Rourke. A high-quality movie.

Summary: An Intellectual Dreamscape
Review: I'm not going to go on and on about the visual effects, lighting, camera angles, excellent screenplay, beautiful acting, and touching score of the movie but I would like to say one thing. I challenge you to watch this movie and completely deny the heavy complexity and the philosophical genius of this film. One of the only movies that could take me from the edge of the building (my intention being to jump off) and be such an awesome reminder that there is something profoundly wonderful about the little things in life.

Summary: One of the best
Review: Although this movie is not exactly a postcard for buffalo, it is deeply moving and #4 of my list. Rent it if you don't buy it

Summary: A benchmark for the decade
Review: This is the kind of film that makes me want to make films. Totally inspirational, magnificent acting and a beautiful script. This is a sexy film. Vincent Gallo is a breath of fresh air.

Review: I didn't expect to be so profoundly moved by it but I was pleasantly surprised by everything in this movie. Absolutely wonderful.

Summary: A movie that unexpectedly challenges every emotion.
Review: This movie displays the reality of "true America".It captures the life occurances of someone that could be a relative, friend, or aquaintance. With a feeling of closeness to the characters, one can relate to their misgivings and yet understand the progression of the relationship between Christina Ricci and Vincent Gallo. It's a slightly tragic, comedic love story that makes one feel there is hope for anyone, even in the oddest of circumstances. I loved the realism portrayed by the actors and the final message of the film. It's the type of film you can watch repetively and feel the power of each emotion every time.

Summary: A fine work of art
Review: For all we hear about the indie revolution, it's rare to see a small movie (or a large one for that matter) that packs as much punch as "Buffalo 66". When I read the plot in a Gallo interview, I was skeptical, but he seemed so intelligent in the article that he made me curious as to what type of film "Buffalo" would be. Let me say, it is one of the finest this decade in my opinion. Great visuals, great acting, great writing: a rare combination.

Review: Pure and simple...a movie that does not imitate...... enough said, the movie speaks for itself.

Summary: Easily my favorite movie.
Review: The first time I saw this movie was yesterday (August, friday the 13th for posterity). I had been wanting to see it for a long time, as I am a huge Christina Ricci fan, and I finally rented it with some friends. Later that night I watched it again, which confirmed my suspicions that this is the best movie ever made. I've never connected with a movie like this. It's funny, disturbing, real, passionate, and ultimately the most beautiful movie I've ever seen. And I've seen alot of them.

Summary: Wonderful new aspect to filmmaking
Review: I have watched this film a number of times, even though it is not my favourite. I enjoy it because there are so many different techniques that Gallo uses with the camera. For example there is one great scene in which a family is around a dinner table, and the camera moves positions to take the table sitters point of view on the rest of the table. It is very interesting because the camera plays a real role in this film. usually it is just the actors, and the viewer, but the camera is like another actor, it is that important. I enjoy the acting and the music in this movie. I like the actors faces to, which are strange and interesting to watch. I recommend this film, even if you are not interested in the context, just because it is such a wonderfully new approach to film. I mean, come on, movies like "Deep Impact" and Armageddon" get a little boring right?
