Summary: A Must See!
Review: I saw Original Sin just a few days ago and I've already recommended it to at least 15 people. I have only good things to say about it. I love Angelina Jolie and she's as good in this movie as ever. Antonio Banderas along with Angelina make this movie truly a delight to watch! I think the story, the actors, the costumes, the scenes, and everything else was simply fantastic.

Summary: Love at any cost
Review: How far would you go for love and how much would you sacrifice? These are the central points in this story. The film is a period piece, set in 19th century Cuba. A time when men were chivalrous and women were, well, powerless...or so we would think. Luis Vargas (Banderas) is a wealthy coffee merchant who sends away for a wife. All he knows of his wife to be, is from her letters. When he finally meets her, he is shocked and then mesmerized by Julia's (Jolie) beauty and her apparent sexuality. They are wed on the day they meet and Luis's life, as he knows it, is never the same again.

This film could have easily turned into a cheap melodrama, were it not for the skill and smoldering sex appeal of Banderas and Jolie. While the viewer must suspend some disbelief as the plot twists and turns (especially at the end), and while parts of the movie are predictable, the story somehow still remains intriguing and viable.

This film is visually pleasing and the musical score is simply beautiful. Unfortunately, the DVD leaves a bit to be desired. The special features menu includes only choices between different languages.

In any case, this is simply a fantasy love story, nothing more, nothing less.

Summary: Excellent story and twists
Review: Surprisingly good movie. I was taken in and invested completely in what was going to happen. Good performances--esp from Antonio--who I typically don't feel is very talented.

Summary: Sinful indeed
Review: Angeline Jolie stars as a woman posing as a rich tychoon's mail order bride. However, she really does fall in love with him. Angeline Jolie's couple scenes steam up the screen with her hot body.

Summary: Melodramatic, cheesy, sexy, all rolled in one!
Review: I saw this at the theater when this came out, (cleaned-up version), and I loved it! Antonio is soooo sexy (those eyes man, I tell you)and Angleina Jolie is so cunning yet alluring...I had to buy this. Yeah, so it's not Gone With the Wind....but it's a good/bad Saturday night at home movie. (...) Check it out!

Summary: If it's so bad, why does it sell out so often?
Review: When this film first came out on DVD, I went to about 3 different stores to get a copy of it for myself and every time it was sold out. Whenever this film is discussed people go to great lengths to bash the story, the acting, the cheesy ending, etc, but almost everyone I've talked to has seen it. That says quite a lot about the beautiful Angelina Jolie and the gorgeous Antonio Banderas.

Yes, most of the plot is contrived and the happy ending given to the main characters was a letdown, but hey at least Thomas Jane had a ball as the bad guy! Much has been said about Angelina and Antonio, but Thomas seemed to really enjoy playing the villainous Billy. He was over the top, more than slightly bisexual and incredibly sexy.

The cinematography of Mexico (portrayed as Cuba) is as lush and enticing as the lead actors and the music was gorgeous. All in all, a good, sexy romp.

Summary: One of my favorites
Review: I have watched this movie many times and I love it. I find the storyline to be interesting and for the most part it kept my attention. If you are an Angelina Jolie fan, you will probably like this movie.

Summary: More than just hot, steamy sex.
Review: I bought Original Sin without reading the reviews-and with no preconceptions other than what was written on the box. What I found was a wonderfully twisted plot that involves layer upon layer of deception. IF you pay attention to the narrator, you realize she's telling a story to a priest who's lead a very sheltered life-and she's telling the story for a reason.

Now I'll admit seeing Antonio Banderas naked (there's no full frontal nudity for either actor) can be distracting, but this is perhaps the most complexly woven plot I've run into in a long time. I'd be proud to have written this one. And while Angelina's naked ... don't do a thing for me, Antonio distracted me enough to have to watch it several times. To sort out the details of the plot. Yeah. That was it.

I have recommended this to several writers as a study guide on Erotic Romantic Suspense. It has all the best elements-a man you wish would love you that way-a woman you love to hate and then hate to love-and a plot you can never be sure of. And Luis is not too stupid to live. He's just in love. A sin we can easily forgive him for.

Summary: i dont know why everyone seems to dislike this movie
Review: i rented this movie (the unrated version) because im a big angelina fan. I thought it wasnt going to be a good movie because of most of the reviews i had read. When i saw the movie, i was much surprised. I thought the story line, although perhaps a bit far-fetched, caught my attention and i felt myself really interested in the story almost as much as i was interested in seeing angelina in those steamy scenes.

2 days later my friend came over and wanted to see the movie. I watched it again with him. Seeing it a second time i realized there were many tricky little connections throughout the story that are easily missed the first time. Even the second time seeing it, i was interested throughout the movie.

I guess i can never get enough angelina. :^_l

the only reason i dont give this movie 5 stars is because ... well i wouldnt really give any movie 5 stars unless it is simply amazing.

Summary: HOT! HOT! HOT!
