Summary: good actors, sad plot
Review: This movie shows a mother's sacrificial love for her daughter, but overall I thought the movie was quite depressing. Although [bette midler] succeeds in raising her daughter alone, it seems to put her in a box as a loser who can't make it no matter what. I did like Stephen Collins in the movie (Midler's daughter's father) alot, and the acting was good.

Review: Whenever you're in the mood for a tearjerker, this movie fits the bill. I thought it was fantastic! Bette Midler was brilliant!
