Summary: Permanent Boredom
Review: I couldn't care less about the trials and tribulations of a Hollywood big shot who was too stupid (and/or rich) to realize that drugs would ruin his life and I don't know why anyone else would either. The movie can't decide if it's a comedy or a drama and it's so boring, it really doesn't matter. In the end, I got the over-stated point (drugs are bad) but I still thought the movie was pointless.

Summary: My mistake: I read the book first
Review: I feel bad about not liking this movie... Primarily because the book is without a doubt my favourite... My problem with the movie isn't the acting... Its the lack of what was in the book.. I can understand when a book goes to movies there are liberties taken but I feel that to many liberties were taken when David Volez wrote the screenplay... It's just something seemed to be missing. Although Ben Stiller's performance was class A I don't think it was enough to save this movie... Word to the wise... next time to make it accurate especially if it''s fact based...

Summary: Deep Movie
Review: I had wanted to see this for quite sometime after hearing about the book, but I didn't think that Ben Stiller could pull off such a dark roll. I was WAY off base there. Stiller shined as the once great writer Jerry Stahl in this extremely dark depiction of what was his life. The movie overall was quite good and the cast was perfect for this movie. But in the overall, the performance given by Stiller made this movie what it was. Great filmmaking.

Summary: Another great Herion reality story.
Review: I highly recommend this movie. If you liked Trainspotting, Midnight Express, Return to Paradise, or Boogie Nights you will probably enjoy this.

This movie is another great example why not to EVER play with Herion.

The picture quality was very good, the soundtrack was equally good. The deleted sceens were interesting and enjoyable, unlike many other DVD I have watched.

Check it out.......

Summary: Very dry, no action.
Review: I kept waiting for some type of action to happen but only seen a whole lot of nothing but a guy using needles. I thought the movie stunk. I paid 17.00 for the DVD anyone out there care to trade?

Summary: Ben Stiller in an outstanding portrayal.
Review: I picked this one up recently in the "Indie-Pack" alongside "Pi". I was suprised I hadn't heard anything about it since I usually take interest in Ben Stiller. Talk about the best kept secret! He made my friends and I believe he was actually doing the drugs he was doing. If for some strange reason you can't appreciate Stiller, then here is your cure. He'll take you on a journey in this portrayal of the true events in which writer Jerry Stahl loses his job as a successful television writer, and his beautiful wife and daughter to an obscene habit of heroin. Other notable stars include, Elizabeth Hurley, Owen Wilson, Janeane Garofalo and Cheryl Ladd. Based on the autobiography of Jerry Stahl also titled, "Permanent Midnight"

Summary: Blah
Review: I recomend that you pass on this movie. If the idea of the movie interests you, try reading the book. This movie doesn't really pull any strong feelings from me. Stiler acted in such a way that I half expected him to start cracking lines from Something About Mary. The relationship between Ben and Liz's character is fuzzy at best. Really not worth looking at.

Summary: Doesn't add up
Review: I rented this movie to see Janeane Garafalo, who was in it for less than a minute. I've never read the book, so the plot line had big holes it. Everything that was hapening added up to a big fat SO WHAT? Yes, he is on drugs, yes he has alienated himself from his friends and family, but I just don't care about anything because there was no build up. All of a sudden hes shooting heroin. There is never a reason why given for him to be doing all of these drugs. Stiller doesn't really seem to be in pain, he is still in romantic comedey mode while filming a drama. His acting was too silly for this part. it wasn't horrible, but it wasn't great either. I was left feeling no emotion after the film ended.
