Summary: Fantastic Mel Gibson's best movie .
Review: Mel Gibson has played many good rules such as ,Rocky from Chicken Run ,and John Smith from Pochontas .This is his best movie comparing too his other movies ,infact he's only had two fantastic roles one in the partiot ,and in this wonderful movie . Stopping with Mel this movie fills you with life ,this being my first romance movie that I've seen if you count It Take's Two ,and Father Of The Bride . What amazes me is the makeup I need some tips from that person ,I mean the person actually made Mel look like he was frozen .There is also ___Some___ funny parts such as when Nat (Wood ) is running around the house screaming It's the dead guy ,also when Daniel (Gibson) said Holy Cow you drive like me ! Lol* this movie is all out awesome !

Summary: A Romantic Comedy With a Huge Twist
Review: Mel Gibson plays a test/stunt pilot back in the 50's. He's in love but is afraid to propose to his girlfriend. Before he can get up the nerve to pop the question, she is hit by a car and left comatose. He doesn't expect her to survive and cannot bear to watch her wither away. Gibson's friend, George Wendt, is a semi-crackpot but lovable inventor who is working on cryogenic freezing of animals and, eventually, people. Gibson talks Wendt into freezing him so that he does not have to witness his girlfriend's lingering death. Wendt agrees, but then dies after freezing Gibson. Wendt's contraption, which was developed under a military grant, gets stored in a warehouse and forgotten - with frozen Gibson inside. Fifty years go by, and then Gibson is accidentally awakened.

The comedy focuses on Gibson running into instance after instance of encountering technology that he doesn't recognize, as well as fitting his 50's style of interacting into the 90's. I won't tell you the romantic plot, as that would give away too much.

Gibson plays the part well, as does Jamie Lee Curtis (the mom of the kid who unfreezes Gibson). Elijah Wood does a good job of playing the wide-eyed and likable kid. This is light comedy, with one deeper story-line, and it is done very well. Very enjoyable.

Summary: True Love Waits Forever
Review: Staring Mel Gibson, this is an entertaining family movie with a science fiction twist. A great cast. A widescreen edition would fill in the blanks, and add a forth star, so I'll hope to find the film in its ORIGINAL ASPECT RATIO.

Summary: No OAR = No Sale...
Review: Staring Mel Gibson, this is an entertaining family movie with just a smidgen of science fiction. But where's the theatrical widescreen edition? Sorry, but I only purchase DVDs displaying the film's ORIGINAL ASPECT RATIO.

Summary: Where's the WIDESCREEN version???
Review: The one star is not because the movie is bad - in fact, I really want to buy it because I love this story; but, like others commenting here, I'm only investing in Widescreen versions when I spend my money (even if this one is only $10).

Summary: A great, harmless movie
Review: This is a cute, underrated film that I have seen several times. Basically, Mel plays a test pilot who gets put into artifical hybernation for 50 years and is then awoken to the 90's. There's the usual culture shock, loss of identity, etc.

What makes this movie so great is that it's an entertaining movie by Mel without any violence or other elements that you wouldn't want to show your children. The music and classic planes on display are fantastic and enjoyable. The love story is harmless and wonderful, and Jamie Lee Curtis does a fine job. The kids are not annoying, and funny.

Check it out!

Summary: A fantastic Love story
Review: This is a great movie with a fantastic love story and some great shots of the B-25 Mitchell. Mel Gibson is sent to the future through a suspended animation experiment and wakes up to a whole new world. This is one of my favorite movies, I've seen it at least ten times. C. Jeff Dyrek

Summary: A movie that is worth to possess forever next to Titanic!!!
Review: This is a GREAT movie! It makes you imagine how it would feel to stay alive without "living the life" for 50 years while your soul mate hadn't died. This is a sad movie with a happy ending. Buy it now and watch it for decades. It will still be a good movie a century later!!!

Summary: Transfer to DVD is good!
Review: This is a very good DVD transfer. The video is very sharp and clear. DVD has got stll scene selection (although I wish it were animated). Soundtrack and subtitles are available in English, French, and Spanish. Other extra features on the DVD include a theatrical trailer and other features like "Director's Chair", "The Producer's Office", "Aging effects" etc. However, all these features (except theatrical trailer) are presented in still screen text, which could have been better with in-person appearances. If you are a fan of this movie and own a DVD player, this DVD is worth buying.

Summary: Wonderful romantic sci-fi movie
Review: This is the very best sort of science-fiction. The type where the central concept is used to establish the situation, then forgotten about as the action concentrates on human relationships and character.

Mel Gibson plays a World War II test pilot who is accidentally frozen for over fifty years and rediscovered in 1992. His story is about the love he lost in the 1930s, his friendship with two boys and the mother of one of them, and finally how he regains the love he lost.

The sets for the cryogenic chamber are some of the best I have seen, with gleaming copper and brass making a believable 1930s hi-technology. The film does let itself down with the ageing make-up in its latter stages, despite the fact that two men receive an on-screen credit for 'special' make-up. The main characters are likeable, even the kid played by Elijah Wood in one of his early screen roles. Jamie Lee Curtis puts in a good performance, although it's amazing how she has time to look so good when she is a nurse and a mother and trying to find the man of her dreams!

All in all an enjoyable film with an unexpected but romantic ending.
