Summary: Uplifting Flick -- Recommended
Review: I expected a maudlin yawn-fest ... a run-of-the-mill slog through a marriage's predictable ups and downs ... I was wrong! Instead, I found a funny and touching portrait of a struggling marriage. This movie feels quite true-to-life and features characters who are flawed but likable and familiar (as in looking-in-the-mirror-familiar). A great cast and enjoyable soundtrack add to this flick's appeal. Satisfying ending, too! When the movie was over, my first thought was, "that was time well spent" ... and God knows, that doesn't happen often enough these days. Recommended.

Review: TO HOPEFULLY SAVE SOMEONE TIME AND MONEY, THIS MOVIE WAS AN INCREDIBLE DISAPPOINTMENT - THIS IS THE WORST MOVIE I HAVE SEEN BRUCE WILLIS IN OR MICHELLE PHIEFFER IN - THE PLOT WAS LAME AND YOU KEEP WAITING FOR SOMETHING TO HAPPEN, BUT NOTHING DOES, EXCEPT A FEW TEARS SHED AT THE END OF THE MOVIE - WHICH EVEN THE TEARS SHED BY MICHELLE PHIEFFER WERE SOMEWHAT DISGUSTING - THIS IS ONE OF THOSE MOVIES THAT I DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH AS I KNOW I WILL NEVER WATCH IT AGAIN AND WISH I HAD NOT WASTED MY TIME WATCHING IT THE FIRST TIME - IT WAS A GREAT DISAPPOINTMENT -

Summary: That was a great movie
Review: The story line for this movie is perfectly believable. It has to do with love conquering all...especially time. Being married and around one another all the time tends to weigh on you sometimes. This movie shows what happens when two people drift apart without realizing it, and their struggle to find their way back (and decision on whether or not they should even try). The comedy is hilarious, but most importantly the movie is touching--just try not to cry. This movie is a must buy.....

Summary: A really real story, but with weak links
Review: It's a very real story. It's full of touching screen. And the performance of Bruce and Michelle are just marvellous, especially Michelle, who can be so involved in the character of Katie. What else can Ben say when he missed Katie so much and went to their home, only to discover Katie was cooking with another man? What else can they say when their conversation are just 'Are you okay? I'm fine. Bye'? However, I don't quite understand the purpose of including the trip to Venice. I also don't quite understand the role of their friends. It seems that no matter how hard they try to get Katie and Ben back, it looks certain to fail. But all out the sudden, Katie enlightened herself at the last moment and said she wants Chinese food. She discovered that there is never a couple that is perfectly matched, and that Ben's kindness and naivity are actually something good; but it ends so suddenly and quickly that I (and even Ben) just can't find any clue how Katie come up with such a conclusion. Anyway, I cried at two scenes. The first one was when Ben discovered Katie was with another man. Second is the last scene. It's a good movie, but unless you are facing similar adversities, you will find it not quite comprehensible.

Summary: Wow! This movie was wonderful!
Review: I watched this video with my husband and I must say that no movie I have ever seen has so accurately portrayed married life as I know it. At one point I was a bit embarrassed that tears were flowing so freely down my face - and I looked over at my husband, and tears were running down his face, too. And he NEVER cries. The title is perfect -- the Story of Us was about US, too. The trials of marriage, and the joys, and at the end, Pfeiffer described marriage exactly as I see it. It was wonderful to watch in a movie! It was validating - it wasn't the romanticized, idealized version of marriage that would leave someone feeling like their marriage is lacking. Nor was it a cynical look at marriage. It is a celebration of the marriage in the face of the realities of life. My husband said we should watch this one twice a year for the rest of our lives - and I agree. I wholeheartedly recommend this one to any married couple. Anyone who hasn't been married might not like this one, but that's okay. I believe the intended audience is for those of us who have experienced marriage for some time.

Summary: Very realistic for the down sides of marriage..
Review: I love a good romantic comedy every once in a while, but often times I'm left with the feeling "this does not happen in real life...... please!" This is a much more realistic movie. For those of you that don't have the "perfect" marriage, you will be able to relate to "The Story of Us." Michelle Pfeiffer and Bruce Willis are excellent. They are basically at a point in their marriage when they are considering divorce, and one of their main concerns is their kids. I felt most of the material in the movie to be very realistic with a good bit of humor intertwined to lighten the mood at times. If you are not married or have never been in a long term relationship, you probably won't get the movie. My husband and I watched it together and both enjoyed it.

Summary: Good for people who are serious about their marriage
Review: A movie tackling marriage problems and solutions for couples who thought they have lost their feelings for each other. Nonetheless, it comes lighter and easier than the Oscar and box office hit "American Beauty". There is no killing, adultery, teen sex and whatever weird that attracts audiences to the cinema. It only has regular husband and wife caught and worn out by heaps of daily particularities and thought that they had "grown apart". Bruce Willis is never known to be a king of acting, but he is needed in the movie, for you need a husband to fight with a wife on minute things but then found that things are not that bad after all. Michelle Pfeiffer, playing an organised wife who wants everything to be done according to schedules and priorities, as a result have a lot to express to make the story of them complete. Both parties are doing just well and got the chemistry for this pair of couple. Of course, the supporting roles do help a lot in adding all the spices and sugar to the movie - how could you imagine a movie with only two stars sitting in the dining room talking for one and a half hour? One more than - Eric Clapton's soundtrack is just too good to miss.

Review: I really enjoyed this film and thought that this was one of Bruce's best works. If you've been through a rocky period of time with someone that you care about, watch this: it does a great job of pointing out the highs and lows of being in love.

Summary: Bruce, please stick to action flicks...
Review: This film is directed by Rob Reiner, who directed "When Harry Met Sally" one of the greatest romantic comedy films ever, next to Woody Allen's "Annie Hall"... Well, it is unconceivable that "The Story of Us" could be such a bad film, but it is that and more. The movie tries to combine comedy and drama, and it does it very unsuccesfully, and it also tries to do it in a Woody Allen kind of way (there's the scene in the bed with both of Willis and Pfeiffer's character's parents) - of course with less, less success. It has a theme song by Eric Clapton, a good-romantic-acoustic-guitar song, but you hear so many times -every time there is a "family crisis"- that by the end of the film you start to really hate it... There is this scene where Bruce Willis is in a restaurant telling his best friends (who are by the way Rob Reiner and Rita Wilson) about his break up, and then he starts to yell and cry... it's one of the saddest scenes i've ever seen... but it is so sad because it is so poorly acted it makes you nauseaus... I gave it a star because I still like Rob Reiner, mainly because of "When Harry Met Sally"... and I still like Bruce Willis (I really love his work in Die Hard 1 and 2)... and that's it.
