Review: Excellent moving story especially suitable for ages 12 and up. Some off color language at times but is far outweighed by the incredible performances of the actors, all of them. Definitely a keeper and one of Denzel's best. Academy deserving.

Review: The movie, Antwone Fisher was indeed something that we as a people needed to be exposed to. As a teacher in public school, I see many troubled youth, especially boys, who are crying out for the love of an absent parent, usually a father. The film serves as a reminder to all of the work that needs to be done in rebuilding our families and communities, regardless of race, colour, nationality or creed. I commend the actors, especially Derek Luke who played the outstanding and heartfelt character of Antwone Fisher. I certainly will not forget as I am sure many of it's viewers can relate, to some degree, to the harsh realities that life often hands to us. Again I say well done!

Summary: A really good story and a great movie
Review: Denzel has done, what so few have been able to in recent cinema: tell a story, a good story, void of the typical stereotypes that plague movies about people of color. Hollywood has truly worn out the shoot-em up drug, thug, and ghetto themes. FINALLY good storytelling. To the cast and all associated with this film, you should be very proud. To those who haven't seen it.... don't walk.... RUN!

Summary: i love true stories
Review: this was a very good movie and i do love watching a movie based on a true story.they just seem to touch my heart in a special way. this one is one of the best i have seen. denzel washington did a very good job playing the doctor that antwone wss sent to. as the story unfolds as antwone begin to talk to the doctor and you see the the abuse this young man took i known i stated to feel some of the pain antwone did from being born in prison and his father being murder before he was born. and the foster mother and sister what they did will make you mad. seeing his best friend get his head blown off in a hold up. and how antwone felt alone growning up will break your heart. but to see the friendship that begins between the doctor and antwone will lift you up. the ending i will not give away but it touched me so much. this movie is sad at time and it is funny at time overall it will just lift you up. ONE WARNING take plenty of KLEENEX you will be crying sad tears but by the end they will be very happy tears everybody did when my wife and i seen this. one other thing don't let race get in the way of this movie i am white and this is just a great movie.

Summary: Five Stars not enough: Wonderful Life In The Next Millenium
Review: This is an extraordinary story that slowly works its way into you, first your head, then your heart. I went after reading the full page ad in the NY Times that was a poem. I read it and had to take my 13 year old son. His eyes stayed dry (some parts of the anatomy actually become more lubricated with age, I've discovered) but even he said it was one of the best movies he'd seen in the last year after Two Towers and 9 Mile. The story, whew, I'm literally still feeling it, after driving home, checking e-mail, etc., really bulds to a third act that sucks the tears right out of you. I mean flowing. It's about a young man who goes through a hellish childhood and, with the help of a psychiatrist, becomes a better man, man worthy of love and respect. Denzel Washington does a brilliant job of directing this story which builds a connection with the viewer that is very very powerful. There's one scene, a doozy, that must have been inspired by Frank Capra's It's A Wonderful Life. The trailers do not this film justice. I almost blew it off until I saw the ad. It is definitely Oscar caliber. It's a film you can take your 12-year-old-and-up to.

Summary: Wow ! Derek and Denzel, Great Great Movie 6 STARS !
Review: I have reviewed a few items on Amazon but this is the first movie. I must say this movie really captured my heart and I think the hearts of the entire audience at the movie theatre where my wife and I saw it. It far exceded my expectations. My wife and I go to alot of movies but this was truly the best I have seen in quite some time. My hats off to Denzel Washington as a director and always as an actor. Derek Luke was awesome in his portrayal of Antwone Fisher. I'm sure the real Antwone Fisher is very proud of the fine job Derek has done. I recomend this movie to all, you will not be disapointed. I will surely add this movie to my DVD collection as soon as its available. In fact I my go see it again!

Review: My husband and I both really enjoyed this movie. Some of the situations this young man went through was devastaing, but to see him rise up out of it, now that was truly All God's doing.

Summary: A "MUST SEE" movie that is both couragous and uplifting!!
Review: There are tons of movies that I see with my family that end up just putting me to sleep both mentally and sometime physically, just ask my kids. "Dad wake up the movie's over", is a common picture ending comment. This movie however is what my children would rate DNS or more specifically a "dad non-sleeper". It is a heart warming movie about what we all need more of in this human experience - an understanding to realize that too many annoying actions or words that proceed forth from the people we work with each day, are sometimes used to hide deep emotional scars. Both actors Denzel Washington and D. Luke do their professional best to examine these scars on the screen. They were amazing. If there is only ONE movie to see this year that has incredible socially redeeming value in the areas of love, commitment, family roots, and honor, this is that movie. To you Danzel, if I could say this to you personally, thank you and keep up the good work of passionately seeking those diamonds-in-the-rough memories and beautiful stories that lie dormant in my mind and in minds of so many people. This movie has been placed in the all time best classic motion pictures in my book. Thanks for the story. Also if you have very young children (under 10) you might want to see the movie twice, one to evaluate if the movie is appropriate for your family because of some very realistic child abuse scenes and then again if you decide it is ok to use the movie as an opportunity to explain to the very young that this world is not perfect but with courage and strength anyone can overcome anything life can throw at us with the right attitute.

Review: MY HAT GO`S OFF TO MR. WASHINGTON. THIS FILM IS A MASTERPIECE; ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING. I`VE SEEN THE MOVIE (3) TIMES AND EACH TIME IT SEEMS TO GET BETTER & BETTER. EVEN THOUGH I REALIZE ITS THE SAME MOVIE, THAT`S THE POWERFUL EFFECT THE FILM DISPLAYS. I DO REALIZE THAT THIS IS ONLY JANUARY, BUT THIS FILM IS THE BEST IT`S GOING TO GET ALL YEAR. THERE IS NO NEED TO VIEW ANY OTHER MOVIE. THIS IS AN OSCAR AWARD WINNING PERFORMANCE; HANDS DOWN, BAR NONE.
