Summary: A Wave of Excellance
Review: This movie kicked royal surfing .... It was definitely a chick flick, but it wasn't condescending or stupid. It was heartwarming and sweet and showed real women with real problems and real friendships, not dumb bimbos with thousand dollar trustfunds and the like. The ocean shots were stunning and the dialogue was totally realistic. The girls were smart and funny and act how my friends and I act in real life. Plus the guy (Matt Davis) was great and his chemistry with Kate Bosworth's character was great. Their relationship was completely realistic and it wasn't a typical 'guy saves the girl' movie at all. It was a great movie showing girls kicking ... on their own terms and we need more chick flicks like this one.

Summary: better than i thought it would be
Review: blue crush could have been a lot better than it was, but i admit, i liked it. the camera work is really well done, the plot is fairly decent, but acting could have been better. could have done without the one local surfer guy ("drew" maybe?). everything he said was totally monotone. but if you watch the special features it says he's not an actor but an actual hawaii local that they hired for the movie (which explains his poor acting skills). all in all, it was better than i thought it would be. and if nothing else, it inspired me to get a membership to the gym so i can try to get a bod like kate bosworth...

Summary: lets not get too serious
Review: Its a surfing movie, besides documentaries all surfing movies have a little cheese (has anyone seen "North Shore" or "in God's Hands"?). So going into this movie I didnt expect much. It turned out to be light, fun, and entertaining. It is a nice break from serious movies like "Signs" or "Requiem for a dream". Great picture and sound quality, except for the painted on faces on Kate Bosworths stunt doubles. Enough extras to keep you busy for 4-5 hours, and the comic relief is also done well and at the right times.
So if you dont mind a mediocre plot then I would recommend this DVD. It also has decent replay value.

Summary: Blue Crush
Review: Wow, I just watched this movie yesterday and it was AWESOME. It's not your average chick flick, this movie pulls you in and as it progresses, you fall even more in love with it. The surfing scenes are great and the beaches of Hawaii are beautiful. The girls in the movie are gorgeous and talk about Matt (played by Matthew Davis) what a HOTTIE! THe movie shows real trials people go through everyday, love, friendship, siblings etc. Everyone can relate. Just a wonderful movie that everyone should watch. Absolutely the best.

Summary: Good movie, bad extras..
Review: This movie was ok, I would recommend it to people when there is really nothing else to watch.
It was about this surfer girls, and one of them (Mary Jane) wants to go pro. So she has to win this pipe masters competion. And people die at this pipe, so shes been in training with her friends. She then falls in love with this football player who wants to take up surfing lessons. She spends more time with him then her training, So can she win? Watch to find out more..
This movie is better than it sounds.. But acting wise, it's not the best. I personally think that Michelle Rodriques did the best followed up by Kate Bosworth, but people can think what they want to think.
All and all this movie was ok, there wern't any good extras, so I give it 3 stars, which is good these days. Most movies that real critics give out is a 2 star. But I thought this movie desirved 3. It's funny..yet romantic..and sweet.

Summary: Stunning cinematography to showoff your home theater!
Review: I was so pleasantly surprised at this movie that I am immediately writing a review. If you have a nice home theater - then you should take a look at this DVD. Assuming that you weren't just bias - and you really DO have a killer home theater - you will FEEL the power of the North Shore Pipe (in Hawaii). Trust me, this movie is NOT cheesy - it is seductive and impressive. The dialogue feels real. The director's eye was impecable when color-correcting (in post-production) the color of the sky and the crashing waves. The scenes with waves are above all REAL (no compter-aided trickery), POWERFUL, and somehow abundantly supply you with vicarious buttlerflys in your stomach! This movie has what precious few night clubs have - atmosphere. Call it a Hawwiian vibe. In fact, the director kept improving on this vibe all the way through the movie and even the ending credits (which contain cool stunts and little kids messing around) - not to be missed. If you want to feel what it is like to be around huge waves AND you have a strong home theater - this DVD can take you there! My hat is off to the camera men/women & surfers because they delivered a unique experience that I haven't seen before. Well done!

Summary: Made My Month
Review: I was busy completing my Ph.D. dissertation in civil engineering when BC came out. I needed something with a little sol and fun, since I lived in a windowless office behind a computer for 14 hours per day. Having lived in a SoCal beach town for the last 15 years before coming to Texas, I dearly miss all that living there entailed. This little movie was a Godsend of cheerfulness. I saw it three times its opening week. It is an incredible fun distraction. I can't wait for its sequel.

Summary: great movie
Review: full of action.....never thought of surfing as a sport before and it looks tough as hell

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Fun to watch.
Review: I don't know anything about surfing but I enjoyed this movie anyway. The main characters are young, female surfers. I highly recommend this movie to young women. Kate Bosworth was superb in the leading role. The drama was a little light but then again, this movie is not really about that. I laughed my a$$ off at the "surfing lesson" scene. I watched it on DVD. I wished I had seen it in theatre during the summer. This would have been a perfect summer date movie. I highly recommend this to movie to teenage girls.
