Summary: the magic 80's
Review: Summer lovers, actually one of the best movies I have ever seen. After seeing this movie about 30 times, i still smile from ear to ear when Michael, Cathy and Lina dances to the great disco hit; Your love, by Lime. The magic of the movie is made by the music and ofcourse the beautifull views of santorini. one thing though, why isn't the soundtrack possible to get. It has been sold in stores back in the days, but has probably gone out of production. This would be the best collection of 80's music ever to be collected on one cd. SO PLEASE, IF ANYONE HAS IT OR KNOWS HOW TO GET IT, PLEASE CONTACT ME AT christiandahll@hotmail.com

Summary: Accurate summer life on Santorini....
Review: Sure, the movie is about a threesome and has lots of skin.

But, what makes me appreciate it the most is the fact that a vacation on Santorini doesn't stray much from this. Okay, not everyone will have a threesome there, but the life, beauty, sex and especially the mindset of vacationers there is very accurately depicted.

If you are ever lucky enough to go to Santorini you will definitely find yourself experiencing at least one of the scenes in this movie.

Summary: Sex and love don't come in neat packages.
Review: The misplaced puritanism of most hypocritical Americans is rightfully challenged in this, an exploration of what it means to be young and in love. To be frank, Summer Lovers can be rather cheesy at times (a Sundance winner this is not), but the storyline and the setting make this an enjoyable capturing of a moment in time for three people on Santorini during one eventful summer.

The longtime, unmarried lovers Michael and Kathy, taking a break after graduating from college (it seems), travel to Santorini, where their planned, rigid American upbringing, and their comitted, longtime love, is challenged. Both Michael and Kathy find themselves, and their perceptions of life and love, being challenged by the freedom and openess of Europeans to the very natural draws of the flesh. They even discuss their sex lives, including fantasies, in a way it seems they had never done before. Eventually, their relationship meets challenge in the flesh by the intelligent and forthright Lena.

One thing leads to another, sexually, and Michael, Kathy, and Lena find themselves involved in true love. This is a total twist from what might be expected, as the American portrayal of the menage e trois is almost always depicted as a manipulated scheme to sexually benefit the male.

The final scene is touching, and many otherwise narrow Americans may find themselves crying the sight of these young lovers taking a chance and leaping into their feelings.

Summary: Fantastic scenarie and fun, a simple story, very vicarious
Review: The story is simple, but it does give you a 1 1/2 hour vacation to a greek island santorini. While there you visit the streets, cafe's, nightclubs, and yes the beaches. There is topless nudity, but it leaves you not viewing sex as being sexual but rather quite natural. It also is a story of friendship. This film subsetuently inspired me to travel to the greek islands (4 times). Whats amazing is that this place really exists, the water is really that blue, and the natives are really that friendly.

Summary: Watch it for the music
Review: The vision of the three lovers jumping off the cliff into the sea to the music of the Pointer Sisters and the vision of the Greek island they stayed in is what I remember best and what brings me back to the copy in my cabinet. I watch it for the great music and for the nostalgia of a young Darryl Hannah and Peter Gallagher. It was another time when things were more innocent. Inspiring to work out to. "I'm so excited, I just can't hide it. I know, I know, I know, ..."

Summary: I fell in love with Valérie Quennessen.
Review: This is a great movie for those willing to throw caution to the wind and go for a ride. At first I was into it for the funky love-triangle. I wanted to see how it would turn out. As it progressed I found that I was paying less attention to the sexual aspects of the film and ended up lost in the eyes of Valérie Quennessen. Without a doubtm she has the most beautiful soul I've ever seen in a woman's eyes. THe instant it ended I came to IMDb to see what else she's done. Then I learned the worst. Valérie died 10 years ago. I genuinely feel a loss in my heart. I must be crazy...I must be in love.

Summary: Summer Lovers-love the movie,DVD could be better.
Review: This is a movie which, for some reason, really struck a cord with me.The film came out in August 1982,and in that Sept.I would be a Senior in High School.I had seen the MTV advertising push for the film and it really interested me.I eventually saw the film and could give or take it.For me,it was one of those films that really grew on me,and I've found out I'm not alone.Every woman I've dated has seen this film and has touched them in one way or another.I had a bad video copy of this for a long time, and actually purchased a 16mm print which was really nice, actually nicer than the DVD.When I saw the DVD for sale I immediately bought it.I was surprised at the fact it was only available in full frame, the film was shot in 2:35/1 wide screen aspect ratio,so full screen eliminates about half the image. The only extra is a trailer for the film, and the audio is only a basic Dolby surround, still the picture quality is great though. After viewing this again,it brings back a lot of memories, both of the film and the time period it was set in(early 80s,sex was still relatively easy and safe, drugs were prevalent, and Reaganomics was still in the future).I highly recommmend this movie,I only wish the DVD was better produced.

Summary: Hanna + Gallagher = Hot Summer Love
Review: This is my favorite Peter Gallagher and Darryl Hannah movie from 1982 that I've seen this week. This movie was filmed before the eyebrows took control of Gallagher's career. As you can see from the cover, the threesome theme gets pretty hot, especially when Hannah's character is trying out for the symphony as a meat flute player. My score, a perfect 12!

Summary: Summer Lovers
Review: This movie is in my all time top 20 that I love to watch when I am feeling blue.

An irristable movie about two college students, on summer break in Greek Isles.

Shortly after arriving on Santorini they meet gorgeous French paleontologist and a menage a trois begins.

Michael, Cathy and Lina spend their days in the sun and fun and you will wish you were with them. Just when you think you know what will happen you don't. Summer lovers has it all. From the beautiful blue Agean waters and white washed houses of Santorini,to the extrodinary scenes of the Greek ruins.

Beautiful men and woman and a menage a trois that is both happy and sad.

Some of the best music of the 80's. I have checked high and low for a copy of this CD and is has been out of production for long time. Please, If anyone knows where I could get a copy please contact me at mhaddad45@aol.com.

Summary: typical Hollywood pap
Review: This stupid movie is typical Hollywood pap. Utterly unvbelieable and unrealstic situation and characters concocted by that master of phony sentimentality, Randall Kleiser, all for cheap titillation of the masses who buy into junk. ...
