Summary: pretty decent for a horror movie.
Review: I was pleasantly surprised to find that I enjoyed watching Final Destination. There are definitely some flaws in the story--it would have been more believable if "death" was natural rather than supernatural as they portray it in the movie. Anyway, the DVD version has an alternate ending and some deleted scenes. Worth buying? Maybe not.

Summary: Great thriller, you wont be dissapointed
Review: I give it five stars because i thought it was an original thriller, a change from the slasher type overdone horror films. The movie had a great storyline in that it tests the characters mortality, and may even make you think about you own, a scary movie for most of the family, due to that it has no nudity or much harsh language "a bit violent in some parts of corse" a must see.

Summary: Good movie, some parts not developed
Review: This was a pretty good movie, but definetely not the best. The action scenes and story line was excellent but near the end of the movie some of the same thing started happening again. Also I think it was kind of rushed towards the end of the movie, the makers didn't spend enough time developing certain characters and charater relationships and that kind of left me hanging in a way. However it was still pretty good, eventhough I probally will not get it on DVD.

Summary: Great Moments
Review: This is a must buy for anyone who loves those great moments in movies. Some cheesiness, but genuinely thrilling.

Summary: Disturbing and Intriguing
Review: Final Destination is a very disturbing movie. You won't want to get on a plane for a while after you see this film. Premise focuses on an obsessive high school student who foresees the plane he's on exploding. His attempts to get off the plane gets he and six other people kicked off only to see the plane leave and explode. Death, however, isn't going to let them cheat it that easily and seeks them all out in rather gruesome ways. Character actor Tony Todd has a cameo as a morgue attendant who warns the lead character of Death and how powerful it is. The DVD is decent with two games, one which you can't understand and another that is a death time clock. The deleted scenes aren't very good and you'll be glad they were cut out of the film. The DVD has a featurette about test screenings that was pretty good. The film itself, is pretty decent and it's disturbing at times. You'll become disgusted with some of the unnecessary gore in this film that occurs with every death, particularly the surprising death of one female character which will catch you off guard. All in all, if you want to be entertained, see this movie. The ending is actually really good.

Summary: 'Final'-ly a Smart Teen Horror Flick
Review: After having to endure the self-aware horror movies that have plagued us since Scream's release it's very refreshing to see some innovation on the part of New Line to take a risk on a film that has no real antogonist and spares us the happy ending. Devon Sawa (Idle Hands) plays Alex, a high school student on a class trip to Paris who after having a premonition that the plane's going to crash gets off along with a handful of his unwilling classmates. When the plane actually does crash, he finds himself under suspicion by the FBI, a suspicion which grows more intense as the rest of the departed students wind up dying off one by one. The first half hour consists of one of the best plane crashes ever caught on film and some pretty spooky stuff that allows the tension to mount until Death pays them a visit. It's a clever spin on a movie that was originally concieved of as being your typical slasher film but thanks to X-File alum James Wong and co-scibes Glen Morgan & Jeffrey Reddick averts that all-too-beaten path. Some of the typical beheads, what-have-you plague a story that should be above that kind of stuff but it's what the kids like and with today's special effects even the most overdone scenes can be flipped on their ears. The DVD offers up an alternate ending that'll have you thanking your lucky stars that they chose the one that they did and some deleted scenes, which are mildly interesting. Maybe the best new feature are the interactive games that will test your psychic ability and even predict the date of your death.

Review: WOW! A Minus, I have a girlfriend, and if she can not watch a movie with me or I would'nt want her to for whatever reasons (nudity), its not gonna get an A plus.

A movie about a kid who has the abilty to forsee danger. Creepy. This movie may not scare you while your watching it (like I Know What You Did Last Summer) or even on the drive home (like URBAN LEGENDS) but later on: when you go to take a shower, you might find yourself a little leary of the water puddle on the floor, and even later on: taking any water near a computer, or standing next to a train, or enjoying a cafe latee outside at night in Paris, or going on planes to Paris, turning on the boom box in the bathroom, and while going for a swim, you might find yourself looking around for power lines or satelite dishes.

I can honestly say that this is THE MOST AWESOME HORROR THRILLER EVER MADE! FOUR THUMS UP (including my big toes). I WAS TERRIFIED OF ANY WATER FOR TWO WHOLE WEEKS, that is exactly the thrill that you are supposed to get from this type of ingenious film.

And for those who were kinda dissapointed at the ending, there is an alternate ending on the DVD along with deleted scenes and commentary.

Like i said earlier a kid (Devon Sawa) and his friends try and keep each other alive while death (a big black shadow) follows the groups every move picking them off in a certain order. It is kinda predictable that the other characters would think that (Devon) himself is causing these things (after he finds out the order) and puts the blame on him until the next to last scene of the film where he prooves himself trustworthy by taking a massive charge (trying not to give anything away).

This film is very delicatley acted and very well written, I COULD HAVE DONE WITHOUT THE PENTHOUSE MAGAZINE SCENE, IT COULD HAVE BEEN A PC GAMER, but oh well, thats hollywood for ya. But the part were it shredded in the fan and Tods name lands on (Devons) lap was prit-ty freaky (in a Blair Witch sort of way).

All around a great movie for PEOPLE 18 AND OVER due to MAJOR BLOOD, VIOLENCE, LANGUAGE, BRIEF NUDITY, and an all around Haunting screenplay that could send some kids to therapy.

I would also like to add, STUNNING VISUAL EFFECTS!

This Is Acedog from The LuckyDog Newsletter! Have a spooky Holloween!

Summary: HI...I AM TELEPATHIC
Review: The idea of the movie was good...unfortunately...it was packaged to be a teeny bopper horror scare. However pop, it does have some mind blowing occurances that are up there with Brad Pitt's bus incident in Meet Joe Black. Okay...it's not that bad of a movie after all....I'd watch it again.

Summary: Very clever, very cool
Review: You think you can cheat death? No way! The movie has a great premise (kid has a premonition of a plane crash, gets kicked off plane - with some friends - plane really does crash).

But death feels cheated and in the most intricate, wonderfully choreographed ways it gets revenge (or tries to) on all those who avoided dying on the plane.

What lifts the movie above the cliche is the ways you are kept guessing as to who is next and how they will go. Also there is very little gratuitous gore or violence, something else that sets this movie apart.

You get some nice extra bits with the DVD (alternate ending - which I think is not as good as the original)but for the movie alone, this is worth buying and playing to your friends again and again. Just try to count the coincidences required to pull off a death! No wonder the grim reaper looks tired if he has to go through this effort to pick us off!
