Summary: Very Well Acted
Review: This movie was so good because of the great acting done by Scott and Davis, also the supporting players were extremely good. It had a very true form of content. The family interactions felt very real. I forgot it was just a movie and really could feel like I was part of the family. The two main characters were married and the story reflected the breakdown of the marriage, or what seemed to be the breakdown. The tight performances were right on, the emotions were seen in the body and face but not voiced, I really like that. I felt what the actors were feeling or at least my projections of what they were feeling and that contributed to the whole film experience. It is a movie that obviously is not for everybody. The movie can touch people who have had parents who could not communicate or had secrets and suppressed them. The children act out the emotions the parents cannot voice. This movie is not your happy meal of the day, it is quiet yet volatile. The volitity is underlying and the picture viewer senses it, so be prepared to get a bit stirred up. I truly enjoy those kind of films and learn from them.

Summary: highly recommended movie with two stunning performances
Review: upside: two excellent actors give outstanding performanaces. a glipse into the personal lives of two dentists. the irony is their "life" represents the lives of all people.

downside: not one you would watch over and over. but well worth the watch one time.

overall: this movie evoke true emotions, touches "close to home" giving married couples a sense of familiarity and recognition. highly recomended.

Summary: How about you analyze this?
Review: Watched this movie twice, going back and forth between the scenes. Trying to find a tangible clue, did she have an affair..or not? Was this affair emotional or physical or both? My husband and I both discussed this. Comparing the movie with our married friends lives, as well as our own, we saw a true depiction of how a mariage can grow stale and not meet our preconceived notions.
I can only believe that individually we are responsible for our own personal growth, our happiness. When you marry, that is the person they will always be, no matter what the changes in life, deep down. We have had examples, methods etc. that we adapt as we go along but you cannot expect to change someone. You will be sorely disappointed.
Unfortunately, we don't always grow at the same pace and same direction. It can either make, break, or promise an endless sadness and dream of "what could be."
We have to get real and be responsible for our own happiness. No one else can do it for us.
Thought the movie very thought provoking. I will remember it.

Summary: Slap Happy
Review: What an interesting film. You gotta love the little girl slapping and insessentially calling out "DAVE!!!!" Yeah, yeah all that symbolism... Also, The whole affair thing is shown to be exactly what Dave is thinking all along...there is never any proof that the wife has or is having an affair, only well-placed and acted suggestion. Dave never confronts her because if he did..., again, well placed and acted suggestion.
