Summary: Cry, cry, cry...
Review: That's all you'll do when you see this movie. You may not think you will, but if you have any bit of love within your soul, you'll be bawling in the first half-hour! Great for snuggling up with the one you love!

Summary: Absolutley awsome
Review: I thought this movie was the most romantic and sentimental movie I have ever seen. It is not like a fairy tale movie that couldn't possibly happen. It is so true that by the time you realize what you have or had, it could be gone. Don't wait till tomorrow to let someone know how you feel. Take chances in life, even though it is scary. Kevin Costner played a part that I have never seen in him and it was great. It was just the most moving movie that I have ever seen and I cry every time I watch it, which has been at least twenty five times. Love it.

Summary: Absoluely wonderful
Review: I cannot believe that anyone would say one bad word about this movie. If only we all could love and be loved just once in our lifetime like Gerret loved Catherine and then Theresa. You could just feel it all through the movie and even though I too did not like the ending, it still lives with me, everyday and it will be the one video that I buy so I can watch it again and again. I do have the soundtrack which is wonderful also. The last 3 tracks bring back the whole movie and I start crying all over again. Thanks to whomever for the best movie since Gone with the Wind...it was the best!

Summary: It captivated me.....swept me into another place. Excellent
Review: I first watched this movie by myself on a rainy afternoon by the end of the weekend my friends and I watched it again ooood and awwwwd the romance. (True romance is when you don't sleep with each other the first date or second or third) I glowed all over from watching this movie. A true love story.

At first I did not like the ending because I was wanting a they lived happily ever after...

I question why they refer to North Carolina as the base but yet the movie was filmed in Maine.....

Kevin Costner is excellent in this film....I wander how he is in real life and Paul Newman is as sexy now as he ever was!!!!!

I am buying the soundtrack the music swept me away too!!!!!

Why cant real life be this romantic????

Summary: This was an excellent movie
Review: The was one of the best movies that I have seen in a long time. Almost a classic love story, but seems so true in a way. One always hopes that one day they will find their true soul mate. In this story, it's sad for the reason that they had found each other and were so right for each other. It makes you ask yourself should a person wait for a true soul mate. I highly recommend this movie for anyone.Especially for the romantic at heart.

Summary: Poetry in Reality
Review: Thank God for films that do not follow the standard form of what is disgustingly called "chic flicks".(Sorry, ladies, but it's the hard and highly-biased truth). This movie is poetry in motion--by which I mean Shakespearian Love Sonnets,Keats, the Brownings and Shelley. The poem begins with breath-taking cinematography of the Maine coastine, reaching out toward the Atlantic. I believe these scenes are repeated throughout the movie to remind us that this is a seaman's story, which has, as many a coastline villager of any country will tell you, both poetry and pain. The film moves along at an easy, mellow pace, giving the viewer time to guess what really is going on in the characters' minds, and where the next fork in the 'road of life' will go. When you learn to love someone who "is your true north", and then lose them, think what that must feel like--total, utter abandonment, a sick-feeling in your gut that you are really, really ALONE. It doesn't surprise me that Gerrett is as open as he is toward Theresa; hugs are good for things like this, as are the things that go along with hugs. But Catherine is still there, much like Michelle Pfeiffer as Gillian in "To Gillian on Her 37th Birthday. There are some heart-breaking and gut-wrenching decisions to be made, as there are in real life. Those who 'pooh-pooh' the ending and Gerrett's death, would be better off reading Cinderella or eating chocolate. It's your right to be upset when you don't like a film's ending, but don't blast the whole movie because of it. I believe the acting of all three main characters to be flawless and well in-tune with what I believe the director and producers intended, a poignant, bittersweet tale of love lost, love gained and love lost permanently. If you have ever seen "Love Story" starring Ryan O'Neal and Ali Magraw, there are some striking similarities, including the ending. LIFE IS NOT FAIR!! but while you're living it, enjoy the environment around as best you can, enjoy the people around as best you can, and may God grant you the grace and friends you need should your "North" be taken from you.

Summary: One of the best movies I've seen.
Review: I first saw this movie on the airplane. I thought all airplane movies were very boring. Our flight was about 5 hours long, and I was bored out of my mind, so I just watched the movie. Let's just say, that I was crying till I got off the plane. I t's so romantic!! Since then, I rented the movie about a dozen times...

Summary: poignant
Review: Bittersweet tale of true love. It's about how a widower cannot let go of the memory of his dead wife, even though he has fallen in love again. Kevin Costner underplays his role but competently. Robin Wright is good as the second woman in his life. She has a very mobile, expressive face & a lovely smile. The end is v.poignant - maybe not what the box office would want but I think it is the end which lifts this movie from the cliche'd romantic films one comes across every week. Paul Newman as Costner's father is excellent. It is also a story of the sea, the sea that claims all those it loves.

Summary: Wake me when it's over...
Review: I'll keep this brief because I could only stand to watch the first 45 minutes. Then I decided to do something more entertaining so I watered the lawn. If the rest of the film was like the first 45 minutes, I feel very sorry for my wife enduring this thing. I understand that it was actually pretty good, but I just could not finish this one.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: very very good movie, if you love your wife see it.
Review: movie shows what most men feel in their hearts for the one they love, but can't find a way to say it to them.
