Rating: Summary: Greatest Rock & Roll Movie Ever. Review: This is the greatest rock & roll movie ever made. It stars half of hollywood in their initial screen debuts, and the music rocks. The plot's great, the acting's great, and if you're more than 20 years old, this movie will punch you right in the solar plexus. And you can watch it over and over again. I thought it was just me, but turns out we all feel that way. I like it.
Rating: Summary: I can watch this over and over. Great music!!! Review: I have seen both the original and the sequel many times on TV. Now I am buying the video. I am grateful I did not read the two "movie critic" reviews before I saw the movies. I would have missed much enjoyment!
Rating: Summary: A movie anyone can enjoy Review: Eddie and the Cruisers is an excellent movie. It gives a very good view of the idea that rock stars are more popular dead then alive. The cast does an excellent job portraying a rock band that just wants to make music(sal amato says"we're not great, we're just a bunch of guys from jersey") It is very clever how the there are two plots going on at once throughout the movie, one being the present day mystery of the lost tapes and the other the flashbacks of what really went on with band in there days of making music. John Cafferty composes a great soundtrack which helps promote one of the greatest thems of the movie, "words and music. Overall I think that any movie critic that insults or degrates this is to caught up with the blockbusters of hollywood to really see this movie for what its worth.
Rating: Summary: Best Rock Movie Ever! Review: Critics know nothing about movies. I don't see this as a cheap ripoff. This movie has magic. The flashbacks are reminiscent of the godfather. It evens adds a little whodunit to the already exciting story. The soundtrack was amazing, I hate hearing the comparisons to Springstreen. Cafferty is better. Though lacking the charm of this one, the sequal is equally good in many ways...
Rating: Summary: Great movie and excellent music - - really rocks Review: I watched this movie several times 7 or 8 years ago. Really got into it. Went to see John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band when they appeared in Daytona during spring break. It was a great show. My wife bought me the movie for Christmas and enjoyed it all over again......
Rating: Summary: This is a GREAT movie Review: I have seen this movie numerous times along with its sequel. Despite horrible reviews by idiots like Leonard Maltin, this movie is excellent. The plot is strong, it keeps you on the edge of your seat, and it is very clever. The music is top-notch, and I have no problem watching it whenever it is on cable. If you haven't seen this movie yet, rent it today!
Rating: Summary: loved it..great music....part two also very good... Review: LOVED THE MOVIE......LOVED THE MUSIC...PART TWO WAS ALSO EXCELLEN
Rating: Summary: Disagree with Amazon Review! Review: This film is a fantasy!! Pretend! And.. wonderful! Have seen it countless times and it always manages to evoke so many positive feelings, it's impossible to list. The "Editor's Review" says the story is impossible to accept- I disagree!! It's fun and I love it..again and again! No problem here! Also have to put in my vote to those who are holding up the release of Eddie and the Cruiser's 2...what's in the way of this release? Work it out!!
Rating: Summary: A Really Great Movie! Review: I'm guessing that this was a B-Movie which grew into a cult film, and I'm glad that it did! This movie really manages to pull you into a fantasy- where Eddie Wilson was 15 years ahead of his time...and nobody can find the missing tapes, of what WOULD have been his next album- had he lived. A news woman interviews the remaining members of Eddie's old band, to try and shine some light on the mis-understood stories, the blurred memories and complex ideas. To enjoy this film, you have to ignore the REAL history of rock n'roll and pretend that THIS is how it went. It was well paced, the acting was good and the music fits! As for DVD extras...you don't get very much, but that doesn't ruin this classic movie, now does it? ROCK ON, EDDIE!!!!!
Rating: Summary: now we need E&TC - Eddie lives! Review: While I love this movie, the sequel is even better! For any of you who lived the rock-and-role 70's and 80's, this movie will speak to you. The music takes on a life of it's own as well, and you'll find yourself searching out all the various CD's which support these cult classics. Now, we just need Eddie Lives on DVD to complete the experience....my tapes are wearing out!
