Rating: Summary: The movie is a very touching, real, and beliveable movie. Review: "Stepmom" is a great movie that anybody would love to see, only if they bring a box of tissues. Yes, the movie is very sad and touching to the heart, but it's also an exciting, beliveable story of parents getting divorced, a new mother coming in, and the old mother catching a deadly disease which only makes it harder on her, and her whole family.
Rating: Summary: Excellent. A movie every Mother and Stepmother should watch. Review: I am a mother with Multiple Sclerosis and who's ex-husband has remarried. So I and my children are dealing with a "StepMom". This movie has brought back all the things a person goes through when your ex remarries. And it shows how in the end all parties can get along and become one big happy family. This movie brings tears to the eyes, anger, and happiness. I surly enjoyed this movie.
Rating: Summary: AMAZING! GREAT CAST! TOUCHING! Review: This movie had a great cast that were all right for the parts and the story was amazing. This film is based on a true story and is really moving. The woman who wrote the script (Gigi Levance) was the stepmom in real life except she changed the names so that the real mother wouldn't know it was about them. It was a very happy and sad movie that I loved very much.
Rating: Summary: A classic tear jerker Review: Stepmom was one of the best movie of the year. The story and the acting was wonderful. The daughter is this movie was good. What a refreshing change from all the no-emotion teen actresses. The storyline was beliveable and in many places moved me to tears.
Rating: Summary: Ain't no mountain high enough...... Review: This movie was probably one of the best I've ever seen. What a pain that it wasn't even nominated for an Academy Award. Roberts/Sarandon did a great job in the movie, it's worth to watch it again, again and again.
Rating: Summary: Nice DVD - OK story, nice performances Review: I truly like Susan Sarandon, Ed Harris and Julia Roberts. I even like them in this movie. I just think that Susan Sarandon's character was a little heavy handed and Julia Roberts' character appeared to be a little bit thoughtless for an intelligent woman. The picture quality is very good and the audio is very clean and gives nice ambience to the film. This is definitely a two-hanky story and several scenes were hard for me to watch, with my two kids in mind, but overall this was a nice movie for a Sunday afternoon.
Rating: Summary: A tale of love and jealousy, conflict and fustration Review: A future stepmother's struggle to gain the respect and love of her fiance's children and the approval of his ex-wife. The children are loveable brats and their mother, Jackie (Susan Sarandon), is conniving, jealous and GREAT! Isabel (Julia Roberts) is always being faulted by Jackie, and caught in the middle is Ed Harris as dear, dull Dad. A must-see! I loved it because it shows what happens in this day and age to so many women who truly love their husbands and stepchildren.
Rating: Summary: One word: "sad" Review: This movie had some mega strong languege, but I'm not gonna be a drag and go on about that. This movie is a tear jerker. Like the movie (and book) "To kill a mocking bird" A lot of it was from the kids point of veiw, which I think was a nice touch to a movie which would have been sad any way.
Rating: Summary: Excelent!!!!!!! Review: Stepmom is a very good drama, a little depressing at times butower all a must see. 2 thumbs way up for Julia Roberts!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: Good talent wasted!!!! Review: Three very talented actors were wasted in the sappy movie. Susan Sarandon is dying of cancer, but you hate her character for her attitude. Harris is weak, Roberts is cowardly. And the children are brats.
