Summary: A movie that changes your life for at least 2 hours.
Review: This is one of the rare movies that I just couldn't stop thinking about. This movie has it all---romance, tragedy, comedy, great acting and great directing. Although I think Ryan and Cage could do pretty well on their own direction. I really didn't think I would like this movie when I rented it. Now I can't wait to own a copy.

Summary: New angle on the "Better to have loved and lost ...."
Review: I'd love any movie with Meg Ryan and Nicholas Cage, but City of Angels really got me! It takes a refreshing angle on the old stand by theme, "It's better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all". Yes it's predicable, but in a beautiful way. The cinematography is outstanding! Defintely one of my all time favorites!

Summary: Great, man
Review: I think this movie diserved less than a five, but more than a four. It's pretty good and a little wierd. Denis Franz should get more credit. He was great.

Summary: made me thin k of when they used to make movies, not garbage
Review: i'm 74and i can remember the days when a movie was an experience. you came out of the theatre, and the movie had become a part of you for a time, and you couldn't tell enough people about it. Mr. Cage made a really, real angel. the story was handled, with very tender care. i bought the tape and a dvd of this movie. i would most definitelynot want to forget it. you see a movie like this, and you watch it over and over, and so far as Miss Ryan, for my money, she can do no wrong, she is always great. I can look at this kid and i know her gift for acting didn't just happen, and you look at those eyes and that funny little smile, means only one thing, she willbe with us for a long time. at times i see a mischevious, young, Hepburn

Summary: a refreshing look at the power of love
Review: I really like the idea of angels looking out for us and the way that it was shown was refreshing, this is not just the same run of the mills angel movie. I also loved the idea that these angels would give up their perfect non-lives for an earthly love that was so strong that Cages character was grateful to hold and feel that love only for an instant and didn't regret it eventhough he was stuck living on earth without it. This is one of those movies that really hits you hard after you see it (as well as during) and are thinking about the whole concept of it and the fierceness of the feelings evoked from it.

Summary: Best movie
Review: After the first time I saw this movie, I knew it was my all-time favorite movie. The actors are great, I couldn't think of any other person I'd want to play in the roles. I love Nicolas Cage and Meg Ryan together. It was just such a great experience.

Summary: Hmmm...undecided!
Review: This was a terribly sad movie, it would seem by the plot, however I was not emotionally torn apart, unfortunately. It was a bit slow at points and I did not particularly like a lot of the cinematography in certain scenes. I did find the storyline to be heart-wrenching and Meg Ryan and Nicholas Cage acted well, though certainly not Oscar-winning performances. I do love the soundtrack from this movie, so overall, I give it 3 stars.

Summary: I couldn't believe. . .
Review: There's a scene with all these black coated creeps hanging around a hospital waiting for people to die. Now I don't want wings on my angels. And I don't want a thousand angels on the head of of a pin. But a bunch of creepy guys in black dusters hanging around a hospital waiting for the flesh to give up the spirit is just something too far off.

Nicholas Cage is an angel. And he's willing to give up immortality, and I assume his immortal soul, just so he can touch Meg Ryan. Hey most men would give up a lot to touch Meg Ryan. But as the romantic premise for a movie?

In the end this is like so many recent movies. All style and no substance. And the images are admittedly enticing. But there's got to be more. If there are angels, they've got to be more than dour dope in black dusters.

Summary: The most impressive film I've ever seen!
Review: I highly recommend you the view of this film. You won't feel indifferent about it. It invites us to think about life after death and about the sense of our life. Expecially in our present time, where to find us within ourselves and to build a contact with the Infinitude seems to be THE task of our life and is being generously mediate in all kind of arts. This thought finds the most beautiful frame in the incredibly involving Ryan/Cage love story. Enjoy it!
