Summary: This is a work of art!!!!!
Review: This movie was definitely much more and much better than I had expected. I knew the premise and being an avid basketball fan, I knew that i would have liked it but never did I think I would fall in love with the characters. The movie is gripping and emotional as you see the main characters, Monica and Quincy, develope and break their relationship. They both have the same drive and determination when it comes to basketball but this wasn't enough to keep these friends turned lovers together. This is truly a keeper and it has moved to the top of my list as my favourite movie. The storyline is strong and the characters are stronger. Their chemistry is perfect for the film.

This movie is definitely one to see. Trust me you will be amazed.

Summary: wonderful
Review: i saw the movie in the theaters and this is one of the best b-ball movies and romance movies ever. it takes a hard look at gender roles (the relationship between the monica and her mom) and who should get the glory (quincy has to accept adjust to the fact that he is not necessarily the center of her world). it's good on so many levels.

Summary: Nice
Review: The idea itself is nice and original, and the movie is really good, though Epps ... is not really that good at basketball :) but that's fine. The movie is not really about crazy hops and games a-la-"Above-the-Rim" type of thing, it concentrates more on the relationship between two of them. Guess I'm too much of a basketball fan to appreciate it fully, but still I would recommend it to anyone. Even if you're not a basketball fan at all there is a 99.9% chance that you'll like it.

Summary: My daughters chose this movie and I'm so glad they did :-}
Review: What an excellent love story with a lot of meaning. My daughters have one night a week that they have to spend as "family night" and on one of those Thursday evenings, they chose this movie for us to watch together. Well, I sure didn't expect such a wonderful movie about true love and about staying focused on a dream. The young lady in this movie wanted to be a professional basketball player and she stayed focused. This is a wonderful movie and is worth mom, dad, and older teen children to watch. There is one stemy scene but it's not distasteful but it is for mature viewing. Excellent movie.

Summary: One of The Best Movies That I Have Seen In A Long Time!!!
Review: I didn't go see the movie when it was out in theatres because I didn't think that it would be that enjoyable. Once I rented the movie and I had immediate regrets for not supporting while it was in theatres. I have watched this 5 times so far. This is a must-see for die hard romantics.

Summary: SWISH!!! THIS MOVIE IS A WINNER...
Review: I bought this DVD for my daughter who happens to play Division 1 college basketball. I didn't know anything about it, other than it was a love story between two basketball players. When I watched the film, I was completely blown away by it. It is one terrific, quality movie. The director outdid herself, as did the actors, with strong performances from the entire cast.

It is, as the director suggests, a love story with basketball as a backdrop. Two kids, one boy, one girl, meet when the girl, Monica, moves next door to the boy, Quincy. They are about ten years old and both play basketball with a passion. They grow up together and both play basketball in high school. In their senior year, they realize that they are in love and they give themselves to each other, heart and soul.

They are fortunate enough to be recruited to play for the same college, but the contrast between their respective reception is telling. They both do their best and are passionate about basket ball and each other. There comes a time, however, when their love is tested, and they are pulled apart by forces which they lack the maturity to understand. What follows is a test of their love and commitment.

This is a beautifully told love story. The depth of passion that the two main characters have, both for basketball and for each other, is palpable throughout the entire film. The movie is engrossing at all times and is wonderfully directed.

The DVD itself has a plethora of features, including an absorbing documentary of successful women from all walks of life who have managed to break the glass ceiling. This is certainly a DVD well worth having.

Summary: Love Made Real
Review: This has got to be one of the most excellent films I have ever seen. You become so attached to the characters in the movie that you actually feel the emotions you see on the screen. Although I didn't see it in the theatre, it was just as good at home. The first time I saw it, I cried several times throughout the movie. I just couldn't keep my eyes dry because of the emotional attachment I felt to Qunicy and Monica's relationship. It was so REAL. It took me back to similar experiences I have had and brought back all those emotions as well. It is a movie I would recommend to everyone, especially those romantics! Its a good movie to watch with someone you are in love with. It makes you appreciate what you have and makes you want to tell them you love them so very much. I haven't ever seen a more REAL romantic story before. It was excellent!

Summary: A Must See Movie
Review: Love and Basketball is an outstanding movie that everybody should see. I believe that someone of any age, race, or gender could watch this movie and thoroughly enjoy it. If you are in to sports or in to romance it could fulfill either one. Monica plays an excellent part. I'm sure there are thousands of girls out there right now who want to be just like her after watching this movie. She proves to everybody than even thought she is a girl she can play as good as anyone else. At the beginning she proves that not only can she play, she can play better than most boys and is just as tough as they are. She is a great inspiration and role model in this film. She displays courage, discipline, and power. She shows that no matter how far away your goal may seem, you can achieve it if you just believe in your self. She is a hard worker and never gives up. She explains that whatever it is that you want in life go after it. Don't ever give up on your hopes and dreams. Let's not forget Quincy though, who plays a very important role in this movie. He is an outstanding ball player too. Together they show, that even when your serious about sports, you can still make time for love. This movie isn't like others, where all the characters live this perfect life. This film teaches real life-like lessons. The characters do have obstacles that they have to overcome. They have to work for what they get, and it doesn't just get handed to them. They have their ups and downs, and their lives are far from perfect. It is an excellent movie from the beginning to the end. I would recommend this movie to everyone!

Summary: Love and Basketball
Review: Love and Basketball was one of the most wonderful and powerful love stories that I have seen in a long time. The strength shown by Monica (Sanaa Lathan) in this movie is what all young women should see. It just goes to show that you can achieve anything that you want. Not to leave out Qunicy (Omar Epps) 2 thumbs up for his performance. The writing and the story plot was wonderful. I recommend to anyone who has not seen this movie to take time and watch. I think to-date I have watched it a record 50 times and it just gets better everytime.
