Rating: Summary: THE BEST MEN! Review: This movie keeps you on edge. It's a wonderful story with a great cast. I can watch it over and over again. The men are gorgeous! A must see!
Rating: Summary: Keep the faith Review: What a beuatifully made movie - the director manages to capture the essence of clean-living and successful blacks. Wonderfully directed and made me yearn for more. I will no doubt watch the DVD over and over again.
Rating: Summary: Get your copy today! Review: Many of the earlier reviewers focused on the fact that this was an excellent African-American movie. I agree with the fact that there was a solid plot, no violence, positive characters, etc. However, this movie has a universal appeal and virtually all Americans could relate to the characters in this movie. All of the actors did an excellent job with their portrayals of the characters. This has to be one of the best movies that I have seen in the past 5 years.
Rating: Summary: IT'S BEEN A LONG TIME COMING Review: The Best Man, was truely a movie that african americans have been waiting for and deserved to see! We always see our fellow brothas either dealing drugs, having bad attitudes or killing each other. But this movie, shows successful young african americans in everyday life, and what each one of them go through during this week of one of their college friends wedding. The movie has comedy, sensitivity, anger, love, and passion. THIS MOVIE HAS IT ALL! And for the ladies, if you don't mind watching an hour of sexy black men, then this is the movie to get. MORRIS CHESTNUT, TAYE DIGGS, OLE'BOY FROM SPARKS, just fine! I promise you this movie will keep you interested, and guessing, there is never a dull moment. I am 18 years old, and I see a lot of movies, but this one took the cake, I LOVE THIS MOVIE. So if you wanna go through every human emotion you could imagine, then THIS IS IT. IT'S BEEN A LONG TIME COMING, and we finally get to see our sexy black men in a movie that shows, that underneath that worrior exterior, and that gladiator body, they have a heart of gold, and a soul that want's to be loved. And me being a young black woman, i loved the movie. THE BEST MAN, truely is THE BEST CHOICE. As Morris Chestnut says, "she's my soul, without her i'm nothing, she's my earth, my queen" I'm waiting for a brotha to say that to me(wouldn't hurt if it was Morris Chestnut) (laughing)
Rating: Summary: The Best Movie is The Best Man! Review: this film captured the essence of another dimension of african-american culture. malcolm lee brought the images of educated, successful young black people to the forefront and i am so grateful. the characters were very indicative of my college friends and the storyline was superbly written and executed by the most talented black actors in the business. terrance howard's character stole the show :) but everyone gave 150% and i'm glad the story was able to be told before a global audience. it is one of the best films ever made!
Rating: Summary: Excellent Review: The movie is great. The was no leading man or woman, every had an equal role (despite the top billing of Taye Diggs and Nia Long). This film was excellently written and portrayed, one of the few films that shows that African Americans can be successful. It makes you feel as if you were the actual characters. Bravo. However, there is no need to add DTS to the soundtrack because there is not that much surround information.
Rating: Summary: Movie of the year Review: I really enjoyed this movie. My entire family went to see it and we had a wonderful time. I believe that if this movie didn't contain an all black cast that it would have been nominated for an award. This movie had everything that is needed to make a movie be considered for an award. It made you laugh, it made you cry, and it made you try to figure out if that's what really happened. I'm still debating with friends and family if Taye Diggs ever made love to the bride while they were in college. My guess is no. The directing was excellent and the acting was the best that I have ever seen. I go to all the black movies. I'm definitely going to get this one, along with The Wood, for my collection. (Taye Diggs is in The Wood, also)
Rating: Summary: A Perfect Gift. Review: First of all I would like to say that I saw the movie 20 times in theaters. This movie really hit home.Being a 22 year old african american I can really relate to the movie. The cast was a perfect choice. Looking from the Director's point I can understand why he would release such an exquisite story.I totally believe this is the best black film ever made because there was no violence and the characters were mature enough to accept the responsibility of the mistakes they made in the past. What a beautiful wedding.I personally hope one day to meet a partner as sweet and adorable as Lance Sullivan(Morris Chestnut).I truly hope that more movies similar to this background will be released. What I mean is we need more black films that are upscale and sophisticated instead of ghetto and violence. This film is a must to add to your video tower.
Rating: Summary: I Can Relate Review: Me and my friends watch this movie everytime we get together. This a great movie. I have this one friend that compares me and 3 of my other friends to the characters of the movie, with me being Trentin. I can't disagree at all out of the four she picked i would be Trent but she would be Jordan. So we all seat back a just the persons line who we relate to it fun. Watch this movie with your friends and see if you can relate to the characters.
Rating: Summary: The Best Man is one of the Best Review: Of course I am attracted to this movie because of Taye Diggs, Terrence Howard, and the beautiful chocolate Morris Chestnut. Yet another attraction is that these characters are professionals, established, and have a storyline. I am happy that this movie was made. For every ghetto movie there needs to be 100 movies like this, to show that African Americans actors can do more than be on drugs, sell drugs, on welfare, and women showing their bodies. I love this movie. It is great.
