Rating: Summary: Sarah Obnoxious Gellar Strikes Pay Dirt Review: This movie sounds stupid, but it's quite witty, with wonderful casting and underplaying by Ryan Phillippe, appropriately wacky zoning-out by Selma Blair, and a nicely controlled performance by Reese Witherspoon. But the star of the show is Sarah Gellar, whose general obnoxiousness has finally found a proper outlet. Although we're not fooled into thinking that her character has honorable intentions toward any person or thing, we are fascinated when the Ms. Hyde side rears its ugly head--and here is where Gellar shines. If you like Bette Davis movies, catch this one.
Rating: Summary: P0rn for the un-resourceful Review: Are you too dumb to hide your own p0rn? Well, by golly, here is a film for you. "Look ma, its based on a french movie!" Well, hot dang, that means culture! Culture! Culture Culture! Do you know what that means, you heathen barbarians? Back, back! Instead of watching insipid MTV remixes that take actual peices of art like Dangerous Liasions and distill them into approximatetly 8 minutes worth of vaugely arousing footage, why don't you go into the yard and flagellate yourselves? Then those of us who are superior intellectually can easily avoid wasting our valuable time with snot brained rat rectums like yourselves by simply avoiding anyone with blood pouring down their backs! Go watch some real cinema, like A Pure Formality or Long Day's Journey into Night. Or at least watch Night of the Hunter, and learn something valuable, like how to beat a fish to death with an ore.
Rating: Summary: it's a good one! Review: Cruel Intentions. What can I say? How about, all of you people that dis-like this movie, must not have understood the theme or just plain have awful taste. In my opinion, this was one of the best movies of the 90's and deserved way more recognition than it got. I think that this was a hit or miss movie, depending on your personality. Lets take a look at the premise, shall we? Sex, drugs, and death...with the hottest stars of the 90's. Sounds like a keeper to me. Of course I could be wrong (i doubt it), but feel free to Instant Message or email me, if you want to chat, or if you want to talk about the movie(s).
Rating: Summary: Two Thumbs UP! Review: Teens and young adults alike will enjoy this movie. Although some people may disagree, the acting was wonderful and all of the young actors and actresses did a superb job. Ryan Phillippe plays the scrumptious seductionist, Sebastion, step-brother to Kathryn, played by the lovely Sarah Michelle Gellar. They plan a sceme that includes Sebastion seducing the good girl, Annette, played by Reese Witherspoon. A total must for those who enjoy a nice chic flick once in a while.
Rating: Summary: I liked it...a couple of times.....it gets boring easily Review: The best part of this movie? The opening song. The plot? Pretty good. And trust me, this movie was WAY better than it was supposed to be! If you have ever checked out the original plot....let's just say we all would have hated it. The acting... i would have expected MUCH BETTER from Gellar, but this is really what Phillipe's acting is all about. This is probably one of his better acting pieces. He does pretty good with his charecter. As for Miss Witherspoon, i think she could have done SO much better. Or maybe that it was just that the charecter of Annette that she played was so boring and bland. On a whole, i liked this movie, especally the ending. But if you compare this to it's original, Dangerous Liaisons, i'd chose the latter
Rating: Summary: Awsome Review: This movie is a must for young adults and teens. I loved it. The story is just great and you can't beat that ending, Gellar does a great job being the bad girl
Rating: Summary: GOOD AND BAD Review: When it comes to a movie like this sometimes you have to take the good with the bad. The first 45 minutes of this movie was awesome, but the last 45 minutes was a downward spiral into drunk logic. Basically the plot revolved around two rich and sexually charged step-siblings who use their money and natural gifts for being persuasive to mold the lives of other young people. The plot thickens when the challenge of taking the virginity of a young woman who pubically vowed not to have sex until she was older presents itself. The acting was pretty decent and all of the stars are beautiful young people. Reese Witherspoon steals the show with her role playing the virgin with the vow. One reason this role fits her so well is that she actually looks like a "little" girl. This film doesn't have any real nudity but it is quite racy and vulgar for a film about young people....however don't get me wrong the explicit nature of the film is actually what makes it more appealing. If you like this film, be sure to see ELECTION also.
Rating: Summary: Very entertaining movie Review: This turned out to be a fun movie. I was pleasantly surprised, it had gotten some negative reviews, most mentioning it's shortcomings in comparison to 'Dangerous Liasons' and 'Valmont'. It's true it isn't in the same league as those two movies, but it can stand on it's own as an entertaining film, with good acting from Sarah Michelle Geller and Reese Witherspoon. Witherspoon is especially good, playing a much more likable character than she did in 'Election.I thought the video quality was outstanding on the DVD. The soundtrack was excellent also, both in terms of sound quality and the songs on it.
Rating: Summary: Dumb! Review: This movie was just... not very good! The plot was okay, but the ending, and the acting were terrible. I would not recommend this movie, I think you'll be disappointed. But hey, that's just my opinion!
