Summary: ** 1/2
Review: In her first film after "Pretty Woman" Julia Roberts displayed her skill and charm in a dramatic thriller. She stars as the abused wife of a possessive and sadistic husband played by Patrick Bergin. She escapes from his brutal clutches, changed her identity and settles down in a small Midwestern town. Bergin pursues her, relentlessly tracking her down. Although the film makes use of some routine techniques of the genre, it build to a gripping climax. A formulaic script and a highly commercial production but well-acted and decently directed.

Summary: Suspenseful!
Review: I thought this was a good movie and that Julia Roberts was very convincing as an abused wife trying to get away from and hide from her crazed husband and Patrick Bergin really gave a convincing performance as her abusive, self absorbed husband. Very chilling. It's not a movie I want to own but it's a movie I could rent and watch again.

Summary: good but gets a little slow
Review: This movie is a good suspence movie but needs a little more action in the middle. ok. Julia Roberts plays Laura Burney, a battered housewife who's had enough of her organised and beating husband(Patrick Bergin in a great and nail biting performance)She fakes her drowning because her husband is so caught up in himself that he doesn't know she learned to swim. He learns and follows her to Idaho where she has a new house, a new identity, and a new love in her life. He slowly shows his existance by making her kitchen cabinets organised and neatly folding her towels. He shows himself and you must watch this movie to find out what happens.

Summary: I like this film...
Review: I have to admit, the scariest parts of this film were at the beginning, knowing Bergin's psychotic/selfish tendencies. Julia is great, as always, and the transition of her character is totally believable. Joseph Ruben has crafted a very fine suspense film, that I find myself watching over and over. I take issue with others who said the Van Morrison "interlude" was wrong. I thought it was a tension-reliever, as well as a chance to see the budding relationship between Julia and Kevin Anderson. Julia is confident and sure, and is everything we expect. The real moving factor here is the (almost) over-acting of Patrick Bergin, a real mean individual. He counters everything that might be nice. I still think the most overlooked facet of this film is the wonderful score by Jerry Goldsmith, a giant among film composers. Whatever you think, it all works for me. I like this film a lot. It's "scary" in all the "wrong" places...life's like that.

Summary: Sleeping With The Enemy!!!!!!!!!
Review: O my gosh this is the best movie that i have seen in a while!!!!!!! My best friend and I watched this movie together and we loved it!!! The last scene was so "on the edge of your seat" that we could barely watch. Julia roberts is great in it but the person who plays the husband was really really really good at bein a bad guy---You really wanted to hate him!!!! i would say that if you are trying to find a good movie to watch no matter what mood you are in, I would get this one!!!!

Summary: " sleeping with the enemy "- the slayguys verdict.
Review: " Sleeping with the enemy " is one of the most chilling and exicting thrillers of the past 15 years.

With a terrific performance from Julia Roberts it remains a nailbitting and brilliant thriller from beginning to end.

Summary: Jerry Goldsmith Score
Review: Has anyone even mentioned the unforgettable score that Jerry Goldsmith wrote for this film? It really sets the tone and makes the film very enjoyable to watch. The plot is good and, of course, Julia Roberts and Patrick Bergin are very good....but it is the score that shines. I don't remember whether this score was nominated for an Academy Award (however I doubt it as the Academy always never nominates the truly great scores) - but it should have been and won.

Summary: Could've been better
Review: Would have been better if the husband didn't get killed. Everything would've been fine if only Julia Roberts' character had kept the canned goods and bath towels straightened. C'est la vie.

Summary: Great Film
Review: I can't wait until the movie comes out. It is the perfect drama for late night viewing. It makes you think about the world and if this could happen to you. What would you do ???

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: Not bad, but a little heavy-handed.
Review: Here's Julia now, running away again, but this time from the big bad husband who is abusive (which he is). She goes off, constantly hiding, and changes everything and finds her dream, and meets a nice guy who she falls in love with. The fact that this is so everyday, now, is the frightening thing. The last ten minutes of this film was, by far, the most terrifying of the whole movie. And we cheer for Julia? No, but we empathize with the scourge of this on the victims of this country.
