Rating: 3 stars
Summary: 4 stars for movie 3 for DVD
Review: I really liked this movie in the theater, and the 3-4 TV trailers were great, but the DVD is a real disappointment. The TV trailers are missing, there are no deleted scenes (Moxon and Jules making out in the forest, which is in the theatrical trailer), and the disc 'skips.'

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A great film with an important message for all!
Review: Although the subject matter of this film may not appeal to everyone, the basic message of the film is one that is highly relevant to individuals of all ages. In particular, the film reveals the extreme amount of pressure that adolescents often experience in their high school years. I feel that parents and children alike may well gain some insight from this film.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Strictly for hunk watchers
Review: This one rates three stars for the male flesh alone. There's handsome and sensitive James van der Beek, blond and beautiful Paul Walker (what a smile and let's hope he gets his own starring showcase soon), and pure animal Scott McCann (whose streaking scene is just about worth the above video price). Other than that, this is a pretty lame flick. Gutter humor, cliches, and hyperbolic performances, especially from Jon Voight, doing a reprise, it seems, of his famed Joe Buck role.

Summary: Welcome to Texas High School Football
Review: Anyone who has played High School Football in Texas will understand this movie. Football is KING in TEXAS, and this movie shows some of the extents to which coaches and players will go to to win!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Top-notch entertainment for anyone, especially football fans
Review: Absolutely the best football film ever made. As a player who just recently finished my senior season playing for Gibson Southern High School in Southern Indiana, I can relate to a lot of what the movie has to offer. The movie gave me goosebumps on several occasions and nearly brought me to tears. It has just the right combo of action, comedy, and drama to keep the film running smoothly throughtout. The actors do a good job juggling between their dramatic roles and their spots on the field. You'll be impressed with Van Der Beek's athleticism, you'll crack up at the comments of Tweeder and Billy Bob, and in the end, you'll want to wail-on Mr. Voight. I recommend it to anyone interested in a flick with a little bit of everything. Also, anyone who has ever experienced football on Friday nights...don't miss this. It will take you back.

Summary: An Intelligent Teen Film - Mostly
Review: The universe in which teen films inhabit has an odd set of rules. The first rule is that kids know best. When freed from adult tyranny, kids solve any situation through native talent, fearlessness, and rethinking the arbitrary rules of civilization. The second rule is that trick plays always work. This is a movie that plays by the rules.

I liked the Mox character, James Van Der Beek, a level-headed, rightious, priorities straight, good guy who seems to be the only one able to see football for what it is, an enjoyable, childish, transitory activity. He also appears to have quite a cannon.

The football scenes were fun. The players fantasy, nothing but trick plays, but I think the scenes in the Waterboy were more fun.

The DVD is a nice transfer with nothing in the way of supplements other than the theatrical trailer.

Summary: Portrays small town life and (sport) politics perfectly
Review: I'm from a small town that's obsessed with football and basketball. We used to have a football coach just like the one in the movie, but he retired, and most of my fellow (jock) friends act just like the characters in the movie. It was like an entertaining documentary of my town's life, I loved it. I can relate to Mox's character because I have parents like his (it startled me when I saw that my mom uses some of the same cookware as the mom in the movie), and I'm good at sports but not the "best." It also helped that Paul Walker (Lance Harbor) is extremely attractive, Tweeder is good-looking/funny, and Billy Bob is great, cause there's someone like him in every little town. If you haven't seen it, you're losing out.
